Bosch green vs Professional reciprocating saw battery

You already own a Bosch 18 V pack, green or blue, and every saw in this amazon.co.uk set also says 18 V. That shared number is the trap. A Keo will not run on a ProCORE pack, and a GSA will not run on a Power for All pack. Green saws in this set take Power for All. Blue saws take Professional or AMPShare packs. If you buy the cheaper saw on the wrong shelf, you also buy a second charger and a second family of batteries. Same 18 V, two battery systems

Voltage is not the connector. Bosch Professional's AMPShare FAQ says AMPShare batteries work in Bosch Professional 18 V tools back to 2008, and they do not work with Power for All. Bosch says it will not merge the two systems. Gardena UK support says PBA 18V packs and Professional packs are mechanically coded differently and are not compatible. A Gardena pack that runs a Keo is still not a pack that runs a GSA. Do not bridge them with a third-party adapter. A UK review on the Keo file says blue packs do not fit green tools.

Which of these five saws is green, and which is blue

Two listings are green. The Keo, B097C41C2S, at £69.98, is the garden saw. The PSA18V-200, B0GXBC6GWY, at £110.53, is the DIY sabre. Bosch's DIY pages for both state 18V POWER FOR ALL ALLIANCE, and both recommend at least 2.0 Ah. Three listings are blue. The bare GSA 18V-24, B0FDL9WGB2, at £139.98, is model 06016A5100. The GSA 18V-24 with L-BOXX, B0FJRMYSP4, at £162.19, is model 06016A5101. The GSA 18V-28, B0BC9ZQM1N, at £201.95, is the demolition saw. The GSA 18V-24 manual names GBA 18V and ProCORE18V. The GSA 18V-28 page names the Professional 18V System and AMPShare. None of the five boxes includes a battery or a charger. AMPShare is the name people mix up with Power for All, and it belongs on the blue side.

AMPShare is the blue alliance, not Power for All

AMPShare is the alliance around Bosch Professional 18 V. An AMPShare pack is a candidate for the GSA tools, not for the Keo or the PSA18V-200. A Gardena PBA pack is a candidate for the green tools, and it is not a candidate for the GSA. One UK review on the PSA18V-200 calls that saw a Professional 18 V tool. Bosch's DIY page says Power for All. Those two sentences cannot both be the platform. Trust the maker's page. The mechanical coding Gardena describes is the reason a near-fit is still a non-fit. If the pack does not seat, it does not run, however close the voltage looks.

Empty box, separate charger, separate warranty

Every ASIN in this set is body only. You will charge with the charger that matches the pack family. Do not assume the charger on your blue shelf will wake a green pack. Buying a second platform means a second charger and a second set of packs, which can erase a £40 to £70 gap on the saw body. Common questions

Will my ProCORE pack run the Keo or the PSA18V-200?
No. ProCORE18V is a Professional pack. The Keo and the PSA18V-200 are Power for All tools on Bosch's DIY pages. AMPShare's FAQ says those batteries do not work with Power for All. A Keo review says blue packs do not fit green tools. You would need a PBA-style pack of at least 2.0 Ah, which is not in either box.
Will my Power for All pack run a GSA 18V-24 or GSA 18V-28?
No. The GSA 18V-24 manual lists GBA 18V and ProCORE18V. The GSA 18V-28 page lists the Professional 18V System and AMPShare. Gardena, which shares Power for All with green Bosch tools, states that PBA packs and Professional packs are coded apart. A green pack that runs your Keo stays on the Keo.
The PSA review says Professional. Which page do I trust?
Trust Bosch's DIY page, which states Power for All for the PSA18V-200. The Professional comment is one UK review, and it conflicts with the maker. The review file is only 11 reviews, so one platform sentence is not a specification. Seat a green pack, not a ProCORE pack, unless Bosch changes that page.
What is AMPShare in this set?
AMPShare is the blue alliance. Bosch says AMPShare packs work in Professional 18 V tools back to 2008 and do not work with Power for All. In this set that means the three GSA listings, not the Keo and not the PSA18V-200. The GSA 18V-28 page is the one that names AMPShare explicitly.
Does 18 V on the label mean the cells are the same?
It means both packs are sold as 18 V. It does not mean they interchange. The coding is mechanical. Gardena's support note is explicit that PBA 18V and Professional packs are not compatible. Buying on the voltage digits alone is how the cheaper saw becomes the dearer mistake.
If I own neither platform, which range do these five saws push me toward?
They push you toward one range, chosen by the job, not toward both. Branches you can hold point at the green Keo. Light DIY sabre work points at the green PSA18V-200. Tight trade cuts point at the blue GSA 18V-24. Demolition points at the blue GSA 18V-28.
