Best 5kW fan heater

Updated: October 2026

You already know the workshop has, or will have, a red three-phase socket, and you want the best 5kW fan heater from the four listings we kept. Only one file has written UK reviews, and there are three of them. This page says who each row is for, and who should skip it. Three comments are not a reliability trial. Prices and the score notes are on the [5kW fan heater comparison](/hub/portable-heaters/5kw-fan-heater). Products Compared used the amazon.co.uk files, checked 19 October 2026. We did not heat a workshop with these units. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

If you want written UK reviews

The Bimson Power BP-EC5 is the top pick in this set because it is the only listing with written amazon.co.uk reviews. There are three, dated 30 September, 10 October and 25 October 2025, all at 5.0, and none describes a fault. They describe a workshop, a workplace with a three-phase socket, and a rented lock-up, and they say it will not run from a 13 A plug. The file price is £112.10, and on 19 October 2026 the offer was used stock. The socket rules are on the 5kW fan heater buying guide.

If the price is the constraint

The yellow DAHTEC BGP1506-05 is the best value in this set: £58.00, with 50 W fan only, 3,300 W and 5,000 W. At 4.32 kg it is the lightest of the four. The star line is 3.5 from three reviews with no review text. The title says ceramic and the element field says coil, and there is no IP code. A low price with silent reviews is a cheaper gamble, not a second top pick.

If you want IP24 on the listing

The black and silver DAHTEC IFHO2-50H are one model in two colours. Both state IP24, a 1.60 m cable, and steps of 40 W, 2,500 W and 5,000 W, and both say indoor. Neither file has a review line. The silver file is £101.15 and alone prints a 25 °C maximum beside a 70 °C heat-output field. The black file is £119.00.

If you have no red socket

If the wall has no red socket, leave all four listings. The versus page is that exit. If the socket is already there, the garage page is about the building.

Common questions

Which 5 kW fan heater has actual UK reviews?
Only the Bimson Power BP-EC5. The raw file has three written amazon.co.uk reviews, all 5.0, from a workshop, a workplace and a lock-up, with no defect described. The yellow DAHTEC has 3.5 from three reviews and no comment text. The black and silver IFHO2 files have no review line. Three comments are not a large sample, and the Bimson offer checked on 19 October 2026 was used stock at £112.10.
Is the £58 DAHTEC the best value?
In this set it is the best value on price and printed steps: £58.00, with 50 W, 3,300 W and 5,000 W. It is not a durability award. There is no written review, the title says ceramic while the element field says coil, and there is no IP code. Buy it for a dry 400 V workshop if the price is the constraint. Leave it if you want buyer comments or a stated splash rating.
Are the black and silver IFHO2 the same heater?
They share the model number IFHO2-50H and the same bullets for steps, IP24, cable and airflow. The black file is £119.00. The silver file is £101.15 and alone prints 12.5 A and a 25 °C maximum setting beside a 70 °C heat-output field. Treat them as colours of one heater, and check that 25 °C line before you assume the thermostat matches the black page.
Why is the Bimson heavier and more expensive than the yellow DAHTEC?
The Bimson is listed at 9.05 kg and £112.10, against 4.32 kg and £58.00. The Bimson is the one with written reviews, a stated 16 A socket, and a claimed 12-month warranty. It does not print the lower heat setting or an IP code. The yellow unit prints three wattages and costs less, with a 3.5 star line and no comments. Weight alone does not tell you which is tougher.
Does 5.0 from three reviews mean the Bimson is reliable?
It means three UK reviewers reported no fault and liked the heat in a workshop, a workplace and a lock-up. It does not mean a large sample, a long ownership period, or a lab result. The legs arrive loose, the lower wattage is unpublished, and the live offer we saw was used. Read it as the best-documented listing here, not as proof it will outlast the others.
What should I skip if I have no red socket?
Skip all four. Each one states that it will not run on a 220–240 V household socket. A 5 kW three-phase heater on a 13 A plug is the wrong class, not a cheaper way to get more heat. The page that sets 5 kW against a heater which can use that plug is the versus guide. Fitting a new three-phase outlet is an electrician’s job, not a reason to order first.
