Pool brush with pole

Updated: 21.10.2026

You already own a telescopic pole from an Intex set, or you own nothing and a kit looks cheaper than a head plus a tube. A pool brush with pole is the right box only when the stated length reaches the far wall and you accept a light aluminium section. A head on its own is the normal listing here, and it is the better buy when the pole in the shed is the right diameter. The [pool brush comparison](/hub/pool-care/pool-brush) has the prices. This page is the fit and the reach. The Products Compared editorial team checked the bullets against Intex's pages on 19 October 2026. Not lab-tested. Head only is the normal listing

Seven brushes in this comparison leave the pole out: the Intex curved head, gohantee, POOLAZA, Lalapool, Aquatix Pro, MplehDa, and Unipool. The bullet says the pole is extra, even when the components line says Handle. Buy a head only when you can name the pole. Unipool and MplehDa state a 1-1/4 inch clip. POOLAZA, Lalapool, and Aquatix say a standard pole and give no millimetre size. A 1.25 inch pole does not cover an Intex basic pole. Once the socket is right, nylon and sharp edges are on the pool brush for a vinyl liner page.

Three pole sizes that do not swap

A common telescopic pole is 1.25 inch, about 31.8 mm. A separate tube at that size, such as VEVOR's at £13.90, is not paired with these brushes here. Intex is two sizes, and the amazon bullet mixes the names. Intex's page for 29053E says it fits pole 29055E at 1-3/16 inch, sold separately. The amazon.co.uk listing instead says telescopic rod 29056, which is the basic cleaning kit. The pole inside that kit is shaft 29054. Splash and Relax gives it as 26.2 mm. UK reviews say the head misses poles from Intex vacuum and maintenance kits. A gohantee review measured about 2.8 cm, which missed Intex Basic and suited Intex Deluxe.

What the kits in this comparison actually include

Four listings put a pole in the box. OUWEWIN at £17.98 is a brush, a fine-mesh net, and a four-section pole. The bullet says 3.9 feet maximum. The title also says 150 cm and 47 inches, which are not one length. The Solkraes kit at £19.99 claims four sections to 165 cm, and its dimension table says 10 x 10 x 10 mm, which cannot be that head. The other Solkraes, at £21.99, claims five sections to 220 cm, and the bullets disagree on nylon versus polyester. Alyoen at £23.99 has four sections, a 43 cm bullet, and no stated maximum length.

When the kit pole is the weak part

The Solkraes pole claimed to 165 cm drew the clearest failure. Two UK reviews, in a file of six at 2.8 stars, say a section buckled within minutes, including while moving dead leaves. The £21.99 kit's UK review says it cracked between sections if tightened hard. A pole that fails on first use is a return under section 22 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the 30-day short-term right to reject. For reach, buy a separate 1.25 inch pole and a head that states 1-1/4 inch, such as Unipool. Who those heads are for is on the best pool brush page. The order of decisions stays on the pool brush buying guide.

Which to buy

Buy the head when you have measured the pole. A 1.25 inch pole points at Unipool or MplehDa. An Intex deluxe pole may suit the gohantee head, on one UK measurement of about 2.8 cm, and it will not suit the basic kit pole at 26.2 mm. Treat 29056 on the Intex bullet as the kit code, and 29055E as the pole Intex names. Buy a kit when you have no pole, the pool is small, and you believe the shorter length in a conflict. OUWEWIN's 3.9 foot bullet is that case, at £17.98. Skip the £19.99 Solkraes if the pole must push leaves.

Common questions

Should I buy the head or the kit?
Buy the head if you already have a pole of a known diameter. Buy a kit only if you have no pole, you have read the shortest length in the listing, and a light tube is acceptable. In this comparison the heavily reviewed heads cost less than the kits, and the kits are the listings with buckling comments and tiny review counts.
Which pole fits the Intex curved brush?
Intex's page for 29053E says pole 29055E, 1-3/16 inch, sold separately. The amazon.co.uk bullet says rod 29056, the basic cleaning kit, whose pole is 29054 at 26.2 mm. UK reviews say the head misses poles from Intex sets. Fit it to 29055E, or to a pole you have tried, not to every Intex tube.
Is 29056 a pole or a kit?
It is the basic cleaning kit. The pole inside it is shaft 29054. The curved brush's matching pole, on Intex's page, is 29055E. Using 29056 as if it were the brush pole is how the listing and the reviews come apart.
Will a 1.25 inch head fit an Intex basic pole?
No. A 1.25 inch pole is about 31.8 mm. The basic Intex pole is 26.2 mm. Unipool and MplehDa claim the larger size. A gohantee review at about 2.8 cm already missed Intex Basic. Do not force the head on.
Is a 3.9 foot pole long enough?
Only for a small pool, and only if 3.9 feet is what you receive. That is the OUWEWIN bullet. The same title says 150 cm and 47 inches, which do not match each other, and 150 cm is not 3.9 feet. If you cannot reach the far wall from the side, the kit is the wrong length.
Why did the pole buckle?
Because a thin telescopic tube folds when you push. UK reviewers of the £19.99 Solkraes said sections buckled within minutes, including while moving leaves. The listing gives no wall thickness. A separate pole with a stated diameter is the sturdier route if you need reach. Return a kit that fails on day one.
The component line says Handle. Is the pole in the box?
Not on the head-only listings. Aquatix, POOLAZA, Lalapool, and MplehDa print Handle and say in the bullet that the pole is not included. The kits that include a pole are OUWEWIN, the two Solkraes listings, and Alyoen. Read the bullet before you trust the component field.
