What you are actually buying

The ten rows are five different products that happen to share a category name. Art3d’s black and white packs are glue-down PVC tiles, 30 × 30 cm. Irisroom is 12 peel-and-stick polyester hex tiles covering 1.08 m². MCW’s natural oak, light oak grey, and walnut boards are each one 2400 × 600 mm MDF panel, about 1.44 m² from that printed size. Art3d’s walnut 4-pack is a short MDF slat, about 0.72 m², not a box of those PVC tiles. SVILINEK and the unbranded 6-pack are veneer over foam or fibre. INMOZATA is a 2 mm bamboo roll. If you want a ribbed feature wall, start with the full-height MDF board. A light texture starts with the PVC tiles, and a small peel-and-stick patch starts with the foam. The slat wall panels versus PVC page stays on that one pair, so foam, veneer, and bamboo stay here.

Room and moisture

Felt and MDF belong in a dry room. The walnut MCW listing names acoustic felt and tells you the board is not soundproofing. It does not claim a shower. The natural oak file mixes absorption with the word soundproof, and the grey bullets both claim soundproofing and say the acoustics are unchanged. Neither colour earns a bathroom pass by being vague. The PVC tiles are not a substitute shower system either. The black listing says moisture resistant, and the bathroom question is unanswered on both colours. Do not read moisture resistant on a 300 mm glue-down tile as a tanked shower wall. If the wall is damp, flaking, or on an escape route where a fire class is specified, stop and use a fitter.

Price per square metre

The pack price hides the area. These figures are a rule of thumb from the sizes printed on the listings, not a measured survey. The PVC 20-packs are about 1.80 m², so £25.49 and £26.99 are about £14 to £15 per square metre. One MCW board is 1.44 m² at £42.99, about £30 per square metre. The Art3d 4-pack is about 0.72 m² at £28.99, about £40 per square metre, so the cheaper-looking box is the dearer wall. The 6-pack is about 4.3 m² at £98.99, about £23 per square metre, which is more wall in one checkout and still a shallow veneer sheet. If you want a conditional pick after the arithmetic, the best wall panels page names who each row is for.

Fixing, and what not to expect

Glue-down, peel-and-stick, and screws are different jobs. Art3d’s PVC reviews say the box has no adhesive, and one black-tile reviewer could not get a bond. MCW walnut recommends Stick it2it PU adhesive; it is not described as in the box. Irisroom’s bullet says peel and stick. SVILINEK claims a sticky back that one gym-wall review still reinforced with screws. The 6-pack and the bamboo roll expect you to supply the fixing. Foam and thin veneer will take a knife. An 11 kg MDF board throws wood dust, and the Health and Safety Executive treats that as a COSHH exposure: extraction, and a mask such as FFP3 if the cutting goes on. The how to install wall panels page maps each row to one method. None of these listings print a BS EN 13501-1 Euroclass, and none of them soundproof a party wall.

Common questions

How many 2400 × 600 mm panels cover one wall?
Divide the wall area by 1.44, because 2.4 m times 0.6 m is 1.44 m² on the printed MCW size. A 3 m wide, 2.4 m high wall is 7.2 m², which is five boards before offcuts. Measure sockets and the skirting before you order a spare. The Art3d 4-pack is not this size: four small slat panels are about 0.72 m².
Why is a £28.99 pack not cheaper than a £42.99 board?
The Art3d walnut 4-pack covers about 0.72 m², so the rule-of-thumb price is about £40 per square metre. One MCW board covers 1.44 m² at £42.99, about £30 per square metre. You are comparing a short run with a full-height board. The shelf price alone does not tell you which wall you can finish.
Is adhesive in the box?
On most of these rows, no. PVC reviews say you buy tape or glue. Walnut MCW names a PU adhesive that is not listed as included. The 6-pack and the bamboo roll tell you to supply adhesive, nails, tape, or staples. Irisroom is the peel-and-stick exception, and SVILINEK claims a sticky back that some reviewers still reinforced with screws.
Can felt-backed MDF go in a bathroom?
Not in a shower, and not on the strength of these listings. Felt and MDF are dry-interior materials. The walnut file names felt and does not offer a wet-room use. If you need a waterproof lining, you are looking at a different product from the tongue-and-groove boards sold for bathrooms, which are outside this comparison.
Does fire-resistant on a PVC tile mean a UK class?
No. The Art3d bullets say fire-resistant and do not print a BS EN 13501-1 class. Requirement B2 of the Building Regulations is about the lining as installed, not a marketing word on a tile. Irisroom goes the other way and says the foam panels are not fireproof. Treat both as no class in the extract.
What do I do with the bamboo roll and the unbranded 6-pack?
Use the bamboo roll only as a narrow decorative wrap, including a curve if you accept an unchecked seller claim, because it is 2 mm thick, about 0.76 m², and has no reviews. Use the 6-pack when you want about 4.3 m² of shallow walnut veneer in one order at £98.99, and accept that there is no brand, no fire answer, and adhesive you buy yourself.
