Start with the battery family, not the star rating
There are three power arrangements. The £84.00 EM U32 is a 1,200 W corded mower: no battery, and the lead has to be routed safely. The LM G32, LM G34A and LM G37A use one 40 V GR40 pack. The LM C33 and LM C38A use one 20 V CR20 pack. The LM C37B combines two CR20 20 V packs and still prints 40 V in the title.
That label does not make the LM C37B compatible with a single GR40 battery. Yard Force treats 2×20 V as CR20, and the mower needs both packs together. Read the family name and the product code, not the voltage alone. The 40 V or 20 V guide maps each model and the spare-pack evidence.
The LM G32 and LT G30 bundle shares one GR40 pack between a 32 cm mower and a 30 cm trimmer. The LM C33B and LT C25B set does the same with one CR20 pack. One pack runs two jobs in sequence. It is not a spare.
Match cutting width to the lawn you actually mow
Cutting width sets access and the number of passes. Which? uses below 35 cm as a rule of thumb for lawns up to about 50 m², then roughly 35–45 cm for about 50–150 m². That is not a Yard Force test. Measure the narrowest gate and shed opening as well as the grass.

A maker's 200 m² or 400 m² line does not account for slopes, wet growth or a pack already used in another tool. The 32–33 cm rotaries state 20–60 mm. The wider LM G37A and LM C37B state 25–75 mm. If a table prints centimetres where the bullets say millimetres, trust the bullets and the manual.
Check the bag, roller, mulch plug and battery count
Buy a mower-and-trimmer bundle only if you need both tools. The LM G32 and LT G30 set was £165.00 in the extract, just above the standalone LM G32 at £159.99, with one battery and charger. The LM C33B and LT C25B set was £169.00 and likewise listed one battery. Count named packs, not battery-shaped pictures.
The LM C33 and standalone LM G32 list 30-litre boxes. The LM G34A bullets say 35 litres, while its components field names a different model and a 40-litre bag. The LM G37A and LM C37B state 40 litres. The cylinder LM C38A states 45 litres. A large box adds bulk on a small lawn.
Only the LM C37B states a mulch plug. Where a listing is silent, treat mulching as unconfirmed. A stated rear roller is not a promise of strong stripes. EM U32 reviews describe a faint effect and repeated roller failures. One LM C37B review reports a split clip and difficulty obtaining a spare.
A four-part decision you can verify on the listing
Write down corded, GR40 or CR20, and whether a CR20 mower needs one pack or two. Then take the narrowest deck that still suits the route, not the largest area in the marketing. Check the named components: mower, pack count, charger, box, trimmer and mulch plug.
Read the review count with the stars. The LM G32's 4.1 from 1,707 reviews is different evidence from the LM C37B's 4.1 from seven. A later GR40 spare was listed by Yard Force at £79.99 during research. If the routine needs two packs, that spare is part of the cost. Common questions
Does a Yard Force mower include a battery and charger?
Most cordless listings here state a battery and charger, but the EM U32 is corded and has no battery. Check the included-components line and the pack count on the exact offer, especially for bundles and marketplace variations. A picture of two battery shapes is not the same as two packs named in that line.
Is a Yard Force lawn mower self-propelled?
The examined listing bullets do not claim self-propulsion, and Homebase marks the 40 V twin pack as push. Assume you must push the mower unless the exact model's current listing and manual explicitly state a powered drive. None of the nine listings in this comparison is stated to be self-propelled.
Does a mower-and-trimmer set contain two batteries?
Not in the two sets compared here. Both the LM G32 and LT G30 package and the LM C33B and LT C25B package list one shared battery. You move it between the tools, or you buy a compatible spare separately. The mower and the trimmer cannot run at the same time on that single pack.
What width suits a small lawn?
Below 35 cm is Which?'s rule of thumb for a lawn up to about 50 m². Yard Force options in that band include the 32 cm EM U32 and LM G32 and the 33 cm LM C33. Access, weight and whether a socket is close can matter more than the area figure on its own.
Can every Yard Force mower mulch?
No such claim is supported across the range. The LM C37B listing explicitly states a mulch plug. Where another listing does not state mulching, treat it as unconfirmed and check the exact current package rather than assuming a plug is included. One reviewer finding a plug does not set the rest of the range.
What if Amazon lists the cutting height in centimetres?
Compare the bullets and the manufacturer manual before relying on an implausible table value. The LM C33 and LM C38A tables print centimetres where their bullets state millimetres, and the LM G37A table also conflicts with its stated range. Use the millimetre line when the centimetre figure would be an implausible cut.
