Leaf blower or vacuum

Updated: October 2026

A leaf blower or vacuum is a question about where the leaves end up. A blower moves them into a pile or onto a sheet. A vacuum is supposed to put them in a sack. In this comparison only two listings are sold as blower-vacs. The other ten can push a pile and cannot keep it. If you want a bag, you are choosing between the Bosch and the Ark Mat, both mains. The grid is the [leaf blower comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/leaf-blower). We did not run a suction test. If you buy through our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Ten blowers do not collect

Glowica, MTKOALA, Ryobi OBL1820S, PULITUO, SEYVUM, JYGMPRO, Kaelo, KUZUPRO, QUPERR and GrowVid are blow-only. None lists a collection bag. A review that praises a Glowica on damp leaves is describing a jet, not a hidden vacuum mode. Do not add a bag to the Ryobi because other Ryobi tools exist. This ASIN is the blower, and the box is the blower. A pile and a sheet are enough on a drive or a path. You do not need 4.7 kg of vac for that. A lawn you want in sacks is a different job, and those ten listings stop being candidates. Kits and bare bodies are on the leaf blower buying guide.

What the Bosch listing prints

The Bosch UniversalGardenTidy 3000 is about £64.99, corded, 3,000 W and 4.7 kg, with a 50 L bag named in the model line. It averages 4.4 from 1,884 reviews. UK reviews mention a metal blade. Which? says metal mulching blades survive stones better than plastic ones, and that blower-vacs lose power in vacuum mode. That point is about the type, not a score for this Bosch. Gardeners’ World’s about £108.99 RRP is not this shelf price. The voltage cell says 18 V. Ignore it. Reviews describe a short cable. How to aim the nozzle, including on gravel, is how to use a leaf blower.

What the Ark Mat listing prints

The Ark Mat is about £39.95, with 4.4 from 790 reviews. The title sells a blower, vacuum and shredder, a cable, a bag and a strap. A bullet prints 10 m and 35 L against 12 m and 45 L in the title. Do not treat both as measured. Item weight is 1.6 kg and the title also says 3 kg. The power-source field says battery. Title and UK reviews describe a mains lead. One review says vacuum speed is not variable, against a six-speed title line. Both machines are mains. If the socket does not reach the leaves, the bag does not help. That fork is the corded or cordless leaf blower page.

Dry pile or dry bag

Blow into a pile, or onto a sheet, when you will lift the leaves yourself. Use the Bosch vac when the leaves are dry, the socket is close, and 4.7 kg is acceptable. Use the Ark Mat only with the bag-size conflict, the cable-length conflict and the battery cell beside the about £39.95. Wet leaves are a poor suction job in Ark Mat reviews. Bosch reviews still say the vacuum weakens when the leaves are properly damp. Agrigem’s line is to wait until leaves are dry. We are not claiming a shred ratio. If the tube blocks, unplug before you open it. Acorns were a poor match in one Bosch review, so rake nuts out first. A patio only needs a blow-only tool and a sheet.

Common questions

Which of these twelve can vacuum?
Only the Bosch UniversalGardenTidy 3000, ASIN B08T6427RZ, and the Ark Mat Lazy-Leaf, ASIN B0BL8TJN9J. Both are blower-vacs with a bag. The other ten listings are blow-only. A strong jet does not become a vacuum because the leaves moved. If the page has no bag, you will still be lifting a sheet at the end.
Is the Bosch bag 50 litres?
The model-name line says a 50 L collection bag. That is a listing claim, not a bag we filled. It is not the Ark Mat’s 45 L or 35 L. Gardeners’ World’s about £108.99 RRP is a different number from the about £64.99 amazon.co.uk price on 22 October 2026.
Why do the Ark Mat bag sizes disagree?
Because the title says 45 L and a bullet says 35 L, just as the title says a 12 m cable and a bullet says 10 m. Both pairs are printed. Neither pair is a measurement we repeated. Do not pick the larger number, and do not average them. The spec block’s battery line is a third conflict, against reviews that describe a cable.
Will a vac clear wet leaves?
Poorly, on the evidence in these reviews. Ark Mat reviewers say suction is weak on wet leaves and better on dry debris. Bosch reviewers still report blocking and weaker vacuum when the leaves are wet. Wait for a dry day if the sack is the point. A blow-only review of wet leaves is not a vacuum result.
Are the shredder blades metal?
UK reviews of the Bosch mention a metal blade. Which? prefers metal mulching blades to plastic because stones damage plastic. The Ark Mat is sold as a shredder in the title, and we are not claiming its blade material or a shred ratio. If acorns or gravel are in the pile, rake them out before you vacuum.
Is a pile and a sheet enough?
Yes, when you only need the leaves off the surface and you will lift them. A blow-only tool plus a sheet avoids the Bosch weight and the Ark Mat’s conflicting cells. It is the wrong setup when a council sack has to be filled from a large lawn. Then dry leaves and a close socket point at the Bosch.
