Cordless scarifier battery included, or a bare body

Updated: October 2026

You are looking at a body at about £104.95 and a kit at about £169.99, and the cheaper sticker will not start. Whether a cordless scarifier battery is included is the difference between a drum you can use this weekend and a second invoice. This page adds the packs to the shelf price. The six prices themselves, captured on amazon.co.uk on 22 October 2026, stay on the [cordless scarifier comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/cordless-scarifier). How long a charge lasts is [cordless scarifier battery life](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/cordless-scarifier/sub/cordless-scarifier-battery-runtime). Who wins the score is the [best cordless scarifier](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/cordless-scarifier/sub/cordless-scarifier-best) page. What bare means on these listings

Bare, solo, and without battery mean the body, not the pack that makes it run. The Einhell GC-SC 18/28 Li at about £104.95 needs one 18 V Power X-Change pack. The Einhell GE-SC 35 Li at about £207.99, the Ryobi and the WORX each need two packs. None of those four includes a charger. A bare box can also omit the catcher and the second drum. The Einhell 28 cm lists the basket and the aerator roller as extras. The Einhell 35 cm includes a 28 L basket, a blade roller and a fan roller. The WORX claims a 40 L bag and a second roller. The order of those checks is the cordless scarifier buying guide.

One pack or two

Count the packs the machine runs, then the packs you own. The 28 cm Einhell is the only body here on a single 18 V pack. The 35 cm Einhell adds two 18 V packs and calls the result 36 V. The WORX adds two 20 V packs and is sold as 40 V. If you own one mower pack and the scarifier needs two, you are still one pack short. The Ryobi spec line says one lithium-ion battery. The bullets say two ONE+ batteries, and UK reviews run two. Use about £216.07 for this ASIN, not the about £263.99 on the Ryobi UK shop page. A bare box has no BS 1363 plug until the charger is bought for a UK 230 V socket.

The two kits

Bluemars BM-GP4001 and EcoBuild HB-GS2110 were both about £169.99, and both titles include two 20 V batteries and a charger. Bluemars states 4.0 Ah and a dual charger. EcoBuild’s spec table does not state the amp-hour. One of its three reviews says 4.0 Ah. Both claim a 50 L bag and a second roller. Three reviews are not enough to prove every EcoBuild parcel includes that second drum. One Bluemars reviewer says the machine they received is a scarifier only. Neither listing states that the packs fit Einhell Power X-Change, Ryobi ONE+ or WORX PowerShare. EcoBuild is 5.0 from 3 reviews. Bluemars is 4.2 from 28. A kit is complete only for the parts the title names.

A complete price, with a condition

If you already own the family, the bare body is the cheaper way to a drum. Two Einhell packs make the about £207.99 35 cm body a running machine. Two ONE+ packs do the same for the Ryobi. Two PowerShare packs do the same for the WORX at about £229.99. One Einhell pack is enough for the about £104.95 28 cm body, and you still rake unless you buy the basket. If you own nothing, about £104.95 is not a machine you can switch on. The kits put packs and a charger inside about £169.99. EcoBuild has three reviews. Buy the body when the family is on the shelf. Buy a kit when it is not.

Common questions

Is the cheapest listing the cheapest machine you can switch on?
No. The about £104.95 Einhell GC-SC 18/28 Li is a bare body. It needs one 18 V Power X-Change battery and a charger, both sold separately, and the catcher is extra. The two kits at about £169.99 include two 20 V packs and a charger in the title. A body price is cheaper only when you already own a pack that fits. Add the missing packs before you compare the stickers.
Which of these six include batteries?
Bluemars BM-GP4001 and EcoBuild HB-GS2110. Both were about £169.99 on 22 October 2026, with two 20 V batteries and a charger in the title. Bluemars states 4.0 Ah. EcoBuild’s spec table does not. The four others are bare: both Einhells, the Ryobi, and the WORX. Their style names say the battery and charger are not included. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a without-battery title is as described when the pack is missing.
Will your existing mower battery fit?
It fits if it is the same family and you have enough packs. One Einhell 18 V pack runs the 28 cm body. The 35 cm Einhell, the Ryobi, and the WORX each need two packs from their own family. The kit batteries are not stated as Power X-Change, ONE+, or PowerShare. One EcoBuild reviewer could not say what else the packs fit. Do not assume a slide-in fit from a similar voltage printed on the label.
Why does the Ryobi spec line say one battery?
The amazon.co.uk spec line says one lithium-ion battery is required. The bullets say two ONE+ batteries, UK reviews run two, and Ryobi’s UK page for this body says two batteries running together. Buy two. A shopper who buys one pack because the table says one will not finish the job the bullets describe. The amazon.co.uk body price here is about £216.07, not the about £263.99 on the Ryobi UK shop page.
What else is missing from a bare box?
Often the charger, and sometimes the catcher and the second roller. The Einhell 28 cm and the Ryobi omit the catcher. Their aerator rollers are extras. The Einhell 35 cm includes a 28 L basket and both rollers. The WORX claims a 40 L bag. There is no plug to inspect until a charger is in the parcel. When you buy one, it should be a UK 230 V charger with a BS 1363 plug.
