HSE INDG317 and Gardeners' World (5 January 2026) both point at the shortest guide bar that will do the work. In this set the common bar is 6 inch, about 15 cm, for shrubs and low limbs. Reviewers say the cheaper kits are not for large-diameter timber. The 8 inch title is only the Seesii CH850, at about £69.98, and those bullets still say logs up to 6 inches. Angseen SY-LT05 at about £35.14 lists one 2000 mAh pack and three chains. Seesii's two 4000 mAh packs carry an untimed claim of up to 80 minutes on the 6 inch listing. One reviewer ran about 90 minutes and used one pack plus part of the second. On the other about £33.99 listing, one review describes a square earth pin that would not open a UK shutter, and the table does not say BS 1363. Oil, tension and what an oiler does not include

What to ignore on the listing

Ignore a watt figure the same page contradicts. Seesii's 6 inch bullet says 1,000 W and the horsepower field says 900 W. Sukumo's shears-and-saw set prints 22,000 horsepower, the same digits as its rpm line. Angseen's 12 x 6 x 4 cm field is not a size you can lift. Both Seesii ASINs show 4.5 from 9,284 reviews and overlapping text. WORKIT's 4.8 from 11 ratings is a thin sample. Scores are the star rating times 20. The top pick follows the large sample. Best value is the about £33.99 Angseen at 4.4 from 2,512, not the other about £33.99 listing at 3.9 from 58.

What bar length do you actually need for garden pruning?
For shrubs and low limbs that fit on a short bar, the 6 inch listings are the ones reviewers describe. HSE INDG317 and Gardeners' World both favour the shortest bar that will do the work. An 8 inch title in this set still carries a 6 inch cut claim, so read both lines. A pole is a different tool when the branch is overhead.
Is a second battery worth more than a third chain?

Should the box include oil, or only an oiler?
