Bosch Starlock blades

Updated: October 2026

You have a drawer of old multi-tool blades, or a cheap ten-pack in the amazon.co.uk basket, and you need to know whether they will click onto the Bosch you just bought. Bosch Starlock blades are the family these six tools use. An OIS blade will not fit them, and a StarlockMax blade is a tier this set does not claim. The [Bosch multi tool comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/bosch-multi-tool) only has an interface column. This page is the yes or no, then the tier, then what is already in each box. This page does not invent a pound figure for a spare blade. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

The fitting these six actually use

Starlock is the three-dimensional mount on these oscillating tools, not the flat OIS pattern. BuildWiz, a UK explainer rather than a Bosch price list, states the direction that catches people: Starlock blades may fit some older OIS tools, but OIS blades do not fit a Starlock tool. AdvancedMulti reviews in this set say the same. An OIS ten-pack will not mount on any of these six. Forcing it risks a blade that walks off once the tool is running. The lock is a separate question. AutoClic, MagnetHold and Snap-in are three ways to hold a Starlock blade, not three names for one lever. If you have not chosen the tool yet, the platform comes first, on the Bosch multi tool buying guide.

Plus and Max are not automatic

Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax are tiers. Bosch's GOP 18V-34 and GOP 18V-30 pages say Starlock and StarlockPlus, with Snap-in, and they do not say StarlockMax. The GOP 18V-34 box includes one StarlockPlus PAIZ 32 APB, and the bullets also say compatible Starlock accessories. You can fit a Starlock plunge blade on those tools. You should not order a StarlockMax grout blade and expect the listing to have promised it. The GOP 12V-28 title says Starlock. Do not upgrade that compact body to a Max tool. Max is stated on Bosch's GOP 55-36, a corded tool that is not one of these six. The AdvancedMulti, the UniversalMulti and the PMF state Starlock, not Plus or Max. Fitting the right tier is on the how to use a Bosch multi tool page.

What is already in the box

The AdvancedMulti includes an AIZ 32 EPC plunge blade and delta sheets, plus a depth stop. It does not list a segment blade. The UniversalMulti includes an ACZ 85 EB segment, a delta plate and a depth stop. If the first job is a segment cut and a sanding pass, that green carton is the fuller body-only DIY listing. Both are still without a battery. The PMF 220 CE set is the wide case, and the only listing here that starts with a scraper and an HM-RIFF segment. It is corded. The blades are why about £103.95 is a set, not a substitute for a battery you forgot. The three blue bodies start with one plunge blade and a case. None of those lists names a segment, a scraper, a sanding plate or a depth stop.

Why the next blade is a separate cost

UK reviews say Starlock blades cost more than the blades people used to buy, and that the teeth blunt. This page does not turn those complaints into a spare-blade price. The listings used here do not print one. A body that arrives with one plunge blade will need a segment for a flush cut, and a delta pad for sanding. The UniversalMulti and the PMF already include both, so the next cost is a replacement, not the first pad. An OIS ten-pack is wasted money on these tools even when the sticker looks low.

Common questions

Will a cheap OIS ten-pack fit these Bosch tools?
No. OIS blades do not fit a Starlock tool. BuildWiz states that direction, and AdvancedMulti reviews in this set say old blades will not fit. All six listings here are Starlock-family. A ten-pack made for an older open-back mount will not click on, and forcing it is how a blade comes loose once the tool is running.
What is the difference between Starlock, Plus and Max?
They are tiers of the same mount family, not three brands. Starlock is the tier stated on the AdvancedMulti, the UniversalMulti and the PMF. StarlockPlus is claimed on the GOP 18V-34 and the GOP 18V-30, which also take Starlock accessories. StarlockMax is stated on Bosch's GOP 55-36, a corded tool that is not in this set. Max is not a free upgrade on these six bodies.
Does the GOP 18V-34 take a StarlockMax grout blade?
The listing does not say so. It includes one StarlockPlus PAIZ 32 APB, and the bullets say compatible Starlock accessories, with Snap-in. Bosch's UK page for this tool says Starlock and StarlockPlus, not StarlockMax. A Max grout blade belongs on a tool that claims Max, such as the GOP 55-36, which is a different model.
Which listing already includes a segment blade?
The UniversalMulti includes an ACZ 85 EB segment blade. The PMF 220 CE set includes an ACZ 85 EB and an HM-RIFF segment, ACZ 85 RT3. The AdvancedMulti's included list names an AIZ 32 EPC plunge blade and delta sheets, not a segment. The three blue bodies include one plunge blade each, not a segment.
Which listing already includes a sanding plate?
The UniversalMulti includes a 93 mm delta plate and six sheets. The PMF set includes a delta plate and sheets. The AdvancedMulti includes delta sanding sheets, and the included line does not name the plate as a separate part the way the UniversalMulti does. The GOP 12V-28, GOP 18V-34 and GOP 18V-30 do not include a sanding plate in the box list.
Why do reviews say the blades cost more than the job?
Because Starlock replacements are a second purchase, and reviewers who owned older blades say the new ones cost more and blunt. The GOP bodies in this set include only one plunge blade, so a segment or a sanding pad is extra on day one. This comparison does not print a spare-blade price.
