Bosch cordless lawn mower buying guide: width, kit

Updated: October 2026

You are comparing Bosch cordless mowers on amazon.co.uk, and the cheaper line is not always the one you can use on Saturday. A body price leaves the battery and the charger out of the box. A kit price puts at least one 18 V pack in with the mower. This Bosch cordless lawn mower buying guide is the order of those decisions for the nine listings on the [Bosch cordless lawn mower comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/bosch-cordless-lawn-mower). Peter F. read the saved listings and the UK review notes on 22 October 2026. Nobody here mowed a lawn in a lab. Prices are in pounds and they move. Match the width to the lawn

Start with the grass and the gate, not with the star line. Bosch’s buyer’s guide on bosch-diy.com bands a 32 cm Rotak to about 150 m², a 34 cm Rotak to about 200 m², the 18V2-38 to about 500 m² and the 18V2-43 to about 600 m², and it asks for at least a 4.0 Ah pack. A courtyard, a caravan pitch, or a small front and back sits in the 32 cm band. A medium lawn is the reason to look at 38 cm. Bosch’s 600 m² band is the only reason to look at 43 cm, and a narrow side gate can still rule that deck out. The small garden page stays on the 32 cm choice.

Kit or body

A Rotak body is the mower and a mulch plug. It is not a ready-to-mow price. The 32 cm body at about £132.60 sits £48.40 under the kit at about £181.00. That gap is real only if you already own a green 18 V POWER FOR ALL pack and a charger. If you still need a 4.0 Ah pack and an AL 18V-44, the kit is the honest total. The EasyMower is already a kit. At about £173.13 it includes one 4.0 Ah PBA pack and an AL 1830 charger, and the listing weight is 7.5 kg. A best-sellers cell says Hover Lawn Mowers. The bullets describe a lightweight mower with a folding handle, and the operation mode is Manual, so that rank is not proof the deck floats.

One pack or two, and no drive

The EasyMower and the Rotak 18V models, the 32 cm and 34 cm, use one pack in the mower. The Rotak 18V2 models, the 38 cm and 43 cm, are the two-slot machines. Bosch’s page for the ROTAK18V2-38 says two 18 V batteries are used together for what it calls 36 V power. The amazon titles here do not print 36 V. UK reviews of the 43 cm kit say both packs must be fitted for the mower to run, so you cannot mow on one while the other charges. Two batteries in the box are not a hot spare. None of the nine listings states a self-propelled drive. If you need the mower to pull itself, this set does not offer that.

Noise label and a faulty machine

The Noise Emission in the Environment by Equipment for use Outdoors Regulations 2001 cap guaranteed sound power at 96 dB for a lawnmower with a cutting width up to 50 cm. None of these listings prints a decibel figure, so this guide will not call one model quieter than another. GOV.UK expects the sound-power label and a declaration of conformity. If the mower arrives faulty, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is the claim against the trader. On these listings that trader is the amazon.co.uk seller. One new 43 cm kit had the blade hit the mulch box when the power was on. That is a return.

Common questions

What cutting width matches a small UK garden?
Bosch bands the 32 cm Rotak to about 150 m² and the 34 cm Rotak to about 200 m², with at least a 4.0 Ah pack. A small front and back, a courtyard, or a pitch usually sits with the EasyMower kit or the Rotak 18V-32 kit. Those area figures are Bosch’s recommendations, not a measured runtime from the reviews.
Is the cheaper listing missing the battery?
On these Rotak pairs, yes. The bodies at about £132.60, about £154.97, about £191.94 and about £279.95 include the mower and a mulch plug, not a pack and not a charger. The EasyMower at about £173.13 is already a kit. A lower headline is cheaper to own only when the battery is already yours.
Do I already own the right Bosch 18 V pack?
The listings name POWER FOR ALL. One UK review says professional 18 V packs do not fit the green 32 cm grade. Another says a 2.5 Ah pack was not enough on the 34 cm body. A green garden pack of at least 4.0 Ah is the match these pages are written around.
Is any of these mowers self-propelled?
No listing in this set says it is self-propelled. Reviews describe the 32 cm machines as light to push and the 43 cm kit, at 28 kg, as heavy to push. If you need drive, look outside this comparison.
How loud is it allowed to be, and what if it is faulty?
For a cutting width up to 50 cm, guaranteed sound power is capped at 96 dB. These listings print no decibel figure. If the mower is faulty, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is the claim against the trader. Stop if the dead-man control fails, if a blade hits the mulch plug, or if a pack or charger fails. Do not open the pack.
When is 43 cm the wrong width even if the lawn is large?
When you cannot get it through the gate, up the steps, or around the beds. The kit is 28 kg, both packs have to be fitted to run, and the title bag is 40 litres while the body title says 50 litres. Bosch’s 600 m² band does not cancel a path you cannot push.
