Kerosene oil burner nozzle UK

Updated: 22 October 2026

The tank at the side of the house has fed the boiler for years, and the listing you are about to buy says diesel heating in the same breath as a Danfoss EH code. This kerosene oil burner nozzle page is about fuel match. Peter F. used Danfoss EH/ES guidance, EOGB’s notes on BS 5410, OFTEC’s off-grid guides and the amazon.co.uk rows in the [oil burner nozzle comparison](/hub/heating/oil-burner-nozzle) on 20 October 2026. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We did not sample your tank or test any jet. Separate a C2 kerosene pressure-jet nozzle from a gas-oil letter and from a waste-oil air nozzle.

Kerosene in UK home heating

Most domestic oil boilers in the United Kingdom burn Class C2 kerosene. OFTEC still expects a yearly service, nozzles replaced as required, and combustion measured. Your plate says which jet. Some plant runs gas oil. Some workshops burn waste oil on purpose. The delivery note, the tank label or the boiler fuel line identifies the tank, not the colour of a cap in a photo. A missing note, and a fuel change, is a technician’s job. Flow, angle and letter are ordered on the oil burner nozzle buying guide.

EH and ES nozzles for kerosene

Danfoss designs EH and ES for domestic high-pressure kerosene burners and cites OFTEC OFS E100. They are mainly 60° and 80°, specified at 8 bar. City Plumbing prints 0.50 US gal/h as 1.50 kg/h and 0.60 as 1.80 kg/h at that point. EH is hollow and ES is solid. Both are kerosene letters. The pattern page is hollow versus solid. Fuel does not make hollow the kerosene pattern and solid the other fuel. The £12.91 0.60 × 80 EH (part 030H8312) prints 1.80 kg/h and names EH and ES for kerosene. The £13.00 0.65 × 80 EH (part 030H8314) has reviews naming a kerosene Rayburn and a Grant Vortex. Buy the £14.00 0.65 × 60 ES only when the stamp says ES.

Gas oil, H/S/B and higher pressures

Gas oil is a different fuel, often on plant that is not a C2 house boiler. EOGB’s notes on BS 5410-1:2019 say EH/ES nozzles are not suitable for gas oil. The same guide puts kerosene near 6.9–10 bar and gas oil near 12–22 bar, and says check the pump maker. H, S and B use a 10 bar kilogram figure, not the 8 bar kerosene point. A 0.50 listing can print 1.87 kg/h and still miss 1.50 kg/h. The £14.00 0.50 × 80 S and the £19.95 0.45 × 80 H fit a sheet that says S or H. They are the wrong upgrade from EH. If you cannot name the oil delivered, stop.

Generic and diesel amazon listings

Hoite’s £7.99 nozzles at 0.30, 0.50 and 0.75 US gal/h, all 60°, say diesel heating and omit EH, ES and OFS E100. Voyoo’s brass 0.75 at 60° mentions 7 bar and still has no kerosene letter. A review marked Germany, or four five-star reviews, is not OFTEC approval. Kerosene, gas oil and road diesel are not one liquid. METERXITY’s £11.99 packs state 9/16-24 UNEF and solid-cone B. Neither is an EH/ES Danfoss code, and 3 GPH is the wrong rate. Torque, 15–20 Nm, is on the how to replace an oil burner nozzle page.

Waste-oil siphon nozzles

RIVEN’s £11.99 nozzle is a 1.5 mm air siphon for waste and heavy oil. Oil uses a 1/8-inch inlet and compressed air a 1/4-inch inlet. Air makes the spray, not kerosene at about 8 bar. Millimetres are not US gal/h, and there is no 60° or 80° letter for a Grant plate. Do not fit it, or a 3 GPH pressure nozzle, to a domestic kerosene burner. A larger jet delivers more oil.

Common questions

How do I know my tank is kerosene?
Use the delivery note, the tank’s own label or the boiler manufacturer’s stated fuel. Class C2 kerosene is the usual UK domestic oil. A green or black cap in a product photo is not identification. If the last delivery is unclear, do not guess with a gas-oil or waste-oil nozzle while you wait to find out.
Can I use gas oil nozzles on kerosene?
EOGB says EH/ES nozzles are not suitable for gas oil, which is the crossing in one direction, and the pump-pressure bands differ: about 6.9–10 bar for kerosene and about 12–22 bar for gas oil on that calculator guide. Do not reuse an H or S gas-oil jet on a C2 boiler because it was already in the van. Check the plate and the fuel together.
Are cheap diesel-heating nozzles all right for my boiler?
Only if your documentation accepts that exact generic jet. In this set the £7.99 Hoite and Voyoo rows say diesel or full cone and omit the kerosene letter and OFS E100. Compared with a Danfoss EH listing that prints 030H8312 or 030H8314, you lose the code an engineer can check. Stars on those cheap rows are too few to stand in for a combustion test.
What is OFS E100 on a Danfoss box?
It is the OFTEC specification Danfoss cites for the EH/ES kerosene nozzles. It belongs to that family, at the 8 bar specification point. It does not appear, in these listings, on the generic full-cone titles or on the waste-oil siphon nozzle. Seeing the letters EH is not, by itself, the same as seeing the specification named.
When does a fuel change need a technician?
When the tank is moving between kerosene, gas oil or waste oil, or when you cannot document what is in it now. Nozzle family, pump pressure and combustion all move together. Book a competent person rather than trying an EH jet, an H jet and a siphon nozzle until one of them stays alight.
