Könighaus infrared heater buying guide

Updated: 22 October 2026

You are on amazon.co.uk with five Könighaus panels and no single square-metre figure that fits every listing. Some cartons include feet, a remote and Wi-Fi. Others are wall fixings and a cable, with the thermostat sold separately. A Könighaus infrared heater buying guide is that question order: family first, then wattage, then the lines that contradict each other. The [Könighaus infrared heater comparison](/hub/heating/konighaus-infrared-heater) keeps all five ASINs side by side. Peter F. checked those listings and public UK sources. There was no lab test. Feet and an app, or a bare wall panel

Smart Dual listings in this set ship with stand feet, a wall kit, a remote, Wi-Fi scheduling and a towel rail. They print IP44 and list China as origin. None of the three pages states square metres. The P-600 and P-800 cartons include wall fixings and a 1.80 m cable. An external thermostat is recommended and not included. There are no feet, no remote and no Wi-Fi. Origin is printed as Germany. Könighaus’s FAQ says the P-series must not go on the ceiling. The M-series ceiling line is not in this set. Stand it today without extras and you are in Smart Dual territory. Drill and add your own control, and the P-series is the match, after the coverage clash below. The carton split is on Könighaus Smart Dual vs P-series.

Watts for the room you will actually heat

Wattage only matters after you know which family you can install. Prices run from about £99.90 for the 450 W Smart Dual to about £169.90 for the 800 W Smart Dual. The P-600 is about £121.90 and the P-800 about £138.90. The 450 W listing has no coverage figure. UK reviewers describe a desk or one floor and warn against large rooms. That is anecdote, not a spec. The P-600 claims about 8–16 m² in the bullets and prints 16 m² on the spec line. Older titles sometimes said “up to 13 m²”. The P-800 title says 11–21 m² and the spec line says 8–21 m². Könighaus’s P-series page repeats those bands for well-insulated rooms or occasional use. The 600 W and 800 W Smart Dual files give output and dimensions but omit square metres. Manufacturer calculators ask about insulation, ceiling height and external walls. They do not name these five ASINs.

What the listing contradicts

The 600 W and 800 W Smart Dual listings still say, in a bullet, to mount the 450 W panel, while the spec table lists 600 W or 800 W. Treat the spec table and the nameplate as the wattage. On the P-600, the bullet range and the spec line do not agree. On the P-800, the title and the spec line disagree on the lower bound. The P-600 listing prints 11 kg. The 2023 English manual type table shows 5.2 kg for P-600 and P-800, at different dimensions. Do not merge those figures when you plan fixings.

What this will not do

The Energy Saving Trust says electricity costs roughly four times gas for the same energy. Government user research treats these panels as top-up or small-room heat, not a boiler replacement. At Checkatrade’s July 2026 example of 26.11 pence per kWh, 450 W is about 12 pence an hour while the element is on, 600 W about 16 pence and 800 W about 21 pence. A thermostat cuts hours. It does not change the unit rate. Könighaus’s “98%” line assumes a thermostat. It is not a measured cut on your bill. Figures in assimilated Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 are compliance floors. If the job is to retire gas central heating, none of these five listings is the answer. A towel rail near a bath belongs on Könighaus infrared heater bathroom.

Common questions

Do I start with watts or with Smart Dual versus P-series?
Start with family. Smart Dual cartons include feet, an app and a towel rail. P-series cartons include wall fixings and a cable, and the thermostat is not in the box. Watts only apply inside the family you can install.
What room does 450 W suit if no square metres are printed?
The 450 W listing does not print square metres. Reviewers describe a desk or a small occupied area, not open-plan space. The P-600 prints about 8–16 m² in the bullets and 16 m² on the spec line. Those two lines do not match.
Is a thermostat in the P-series box on amazon.co.uk?
No. The P-600 and P-800 bullets recommend an external thermostat and do not include one. There is also no remote and no Wi-Fi on those listings. Smart Dual rows claim an integrated thermostat, a remote and Wi-Fi in the box, together with stand feet and a towel rail.
Can I use the manufacturer 98% line as a running-cost cut?
No. It is a manufacturer ecodesign claim that assumes a thermostat, not a UK bill test. Compare hourly pence at your tariff while the element is on. A thermostat can switch the panel off. It does not change the price of a kilowatt-hour.
Why do the 600 W and 800 W Smart Dual bullets mention 450 W?
That sentence is copied on the listings. The spec table lists 600 W or 800 W, with different dimensions from the 450 W panel. Read the table and the nameplate on the unit. Do not size the room from the stray bullet until the live page has been corrected.
When is this the wrong heater altogether?
When you need whole-house heat, a ceiling mount on the P-series, or a plug-in panel in bathroom zone 1 without an electrician. The FAQ forbids ceiling mounting for the P-series. Wet-zone wiring is fixed equipment, not a hurried amazon.co.uk checkout. Those jobs belong to other products or to a competent installer.
