Start with the screw, not the brand

UK woodscrews and chipboard screws are often Pozidriv. bolts.co.uk tells you to look for the small ticks between the cross arms, and it warns that a Phillips bit can turn that screw and then cam out. If the hinge screw has those ticks, the first question is whether PZ2 is actually in the box. The Bosch 1600A027PP magazine names PZ1, PZ2 and PZ3 and does not name a Phillips bit. The Bosch clip set and the Bosch 26-piece box name both. The Amazon Basics 12-in-1 names PH1 to PH3 and does not name Pozidriv. The DeWalt DWHT68001-0 names Phillips, slotted and SQ2 only. The Bahco 808050 title says six bits, and the amazon bullets do not name the sizes. A UK review lists PZ1 and PZ2 among the six. KELIN and VMAN do not name a Pozidriv size. The tick test is on Pozidriv or Phillips.

Reach, teeth and the locked position

Most of these drivers are inline. The Bosch magazine, the clip set and the bare Bosch each quote an 80 mm shaft, enough for a hinge you can stand in front of and the wrong shape beside a sink or a radiator bracket. The OSDUE is a 110 mm right-angle body, a 36-tooth bullet, and no bits. The DeWalt telescopes, and a UK review says the retracted position does not lock. The Bosch 26-piece ratchet is palm-sized and for modest torque. Extra teeth help less than a handle that fits. Bahco’s own page states 48 teeth and a 125 mm blade, which the amazon bullets do not, so do not treat 48 as printed on the listing. KELIN says 58. Amazon Basics and the DeWalt state no tooth count. Bosch calls the middle setting manual and Amazon Basics calls it fixed, so the pawl leaves the final turn. No listing here claims 1,000 V insulation.

Storage, magnets and piece count

A magazine, as on the Bosch 1600A027PP and in UK reviews the Bahco, keeps a short set with the driver. The Bosch 19-piece uses a clip. A hard case, on KELIN, the Amazon Basics 73-piece and the VMAN, also holds precision bits the 73-piece listing says not to use on oversized screws. That 73-piece set does not list the sizes, and the head-size field says 4 mm. The grey KELIN title says 68 in 1, the set-name field says 66-in-1, and the bullet counts 62 bits. Magnets hold a screw on the tip. They do not correct a Phillips bit in a Pozidriv screw.

Price, stars and claims you should not rank

Captured prices move. About £4 to £10 covers the OSDUE at £3.79, the Amazon Basics 12-in-1 at £9.89 and the Bahco at £9.99. About £13 to £21 covers the bare Bosch at £12.97, the 73-piece at £13.99, the clip set at £14.87, the VMAN at £15.74, the 26-piece box at £16.79, the Bosch magazine at £20.62 and the DeWalt at £20.92. Orange KELIN is £28.49 and grey is £29.99. The Bosch magazine is 4.7 from 3,880 reviews and the Bahco is 4.7 from 2,460. The DeWalt is 4.6 from 43. Common questions

How many teeth matter in a cupboard?
They matter when your swing is already short. On the rule of thumb, 36 teeth is about 10 degrees of return, which many cupboard hinges still allow. A stated 48 or 58 teeth shortens that arc further, and only if the listing actually states the number. Several drivers here omit it. Fit the handle into the gap before you pay for a finer ratchet.
Will any 1/4 inch bit fit?
A 1/4 inch hex shank is the usual interchange under ISO 1173, so bits from another set often seat in a holder that is genuinely 1/4 inch. Two Amazon Basics head-size fields say 5 mm and 4 mm, and the Bahco head-style field says Square. Seat one bit you already trust before you assume the whole tin fits.
Is 50 Nm a test result?
No. Up to 50 Nm on the Bosch magazine is the UK bullet. Reviews in the sample do not measure it. The same is true of 36 Nm, 40 Nm and 50 Nm on other listings, and of any 80 percent less effort line. The OSDUE 150 Nm field conflicts with a 60 g tool and is not a capacity.
Is a 73-piece set better than a six-bit handle?
Only if you need the extra recesses and you will store the case where you work. The six-bit style of handle keeps Pozidriv or Phillips with the driver. The 73-piece Amazon Basics set has the larger review count and does not list the sizes. More pieces do not repair a missing PZ2.
Can I use it on a live circuit?
No listing in this basket claims 1,000 V insulation, and none of these notes is an electrical procedure. Leave live work to a competent person. These drivers are for furniture, appliances that are unplugged, and ordinary fixings you can see.
