Rali rebate plane

Updated: 24 October 2026

You are cutting a rebate, or finishing one into a corner, and the amazon title says G30 while the model number says something else. A Rali rebate plane in this capture is a 30 mm tool: the Pocket, a listing that wears the G30 name, and the B30 bullnose. The two-handed G30 with the guide in the box is the plane the maker describes, and it is not a clean row here. Prices and star lines are on the [Rali plane comparison](/hub/hand-tools/rali-plane). Peter F. wrote this on 22 October 2026 from the listings and the maker. No lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Four rebate jobs

The maker splits the family into four jobs, all at 30 mm. The Pocket is the small one for a short rebate. The G03 is one-handed, with an optional guide and a fixed mouth. The G30 is two-handed, with the guide supplied and an adjustable mouth. The B30 puts the blade at the front for a corner. A 48 mm surfacing plane will not take that cut. Surfacing stays on the Rali plane buying guide. The same day's rali-shop.co.uk cards included a G30 at £149.79 and a Pocket at £44.43. Amazon had the conflicted listing at £107.01, the B30 at £114.47 and the Pocket at £47.99. There is no confirmed two-handed G30 row here. Depth is still the red lever, on how to use a Rali plane.

The listing titled G30

B08JZBSZ5V is titled G30 Evolution N, styled as a one-hand G03, and numbered 105715. That is the maker's G03 code: one-handed, fixed mouth, optional guide, sheet weight 0.458 kg. Amazon prints £107.01 and 1.13 kg. Do not average the weights. The guide is called optional and is not in the components line, which matches a G03 better than a G30 with the guide supplied. The 4.5 from 16 shares its texts with the B30, and none is a UK review. Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 11 is why a title has to match the goods. The shop card at £149.79 is the cleaner G30.

Pocket and B30

The Pocket is £47.99, model 108076, a 30 mm cutter and a red lever. Amazon prints 580 g. The maker's page states about 0.338 kg and a light sole, which this listing does not. Included components say Hand Planer, so a guide is not listed. One Italian review, not from the UK, says a described guide was missing. The B30 at £114.47, model 106142-2, is 460 g with one 30 mm chrome blade at the front. It finishes a corner after a centre-blade plane has opened the rebate. Little sole sits ahead of the iron, so it is a poor way to open a long rebate. Its 4.5 from 16 is the other listing's texts. A harder rebate needs a separate 30 mm carbide blade.

Which of these three

Buy the Pocket at £47.99 for a short rebate once you have checked the fence. It is the best value rebate row on score per pound, and the wrong plane if you clicked for a guide. Buy the £107.01 listing only as a possible one-handed plane, model 105715, with the guide not listed. Buy the B30 at £114.47 to finish a corner a centre blade has already opened. Do not make it your only rebate plane, and skip all three when the blade you own is 48 mm. If the sole is bent, or the rebate has to land on a frame you cannot recut, that is a joiner's job.

Common questions

Do I want a G03 or a G30?
You want a G03 for one hand and a centre blade, with a guide you can add later. Code 105715 has a fixed mouth and an optional guide. You want a G30 for two hands, the guide in the box and an adjustable mouth. The UK shop had that card at £149.79. The amazon row titled G30 is numbered as the G03.
Which amazon listing is the G30?
None of the kept rows is a clean G30. The listing at £107.01 is titled G30 Evolution N, styled as a one-hand G03, model 105715, with one 30 mm blade and the guide not included. The listing weight is 1.13 kg. Match the model in the box before you treat the title as the two-handed plane.
Does the Pocket include the fence?
The included-components line says Hand Planer. It does not list a guide. One Italian review says a guide described on the listing was missing. That is not a UK review. Model 108076 at £47.99 is the small rebate plane. Assume the fence is a separate buy until the box shows it.
When do I need the B30 as well?
When the rebate runs into a corner the centre blade cannot finish. The B30 at £114.47 puts the iron at the front, with one 30 mm chrome blade and a listed weight of 460 g. It complements a G03 or a G30. It is a poor only plane for opening a long rebate, because there is little sole ahead of the edge.
Can I use a 48 mm blade in these?
No. The Pocket, G03, G30 and B30 take 30 mm blades. The 105, 220 and 260 take 48 mm. Carbide is a separate blade in that same 30 mm width. A chrome 48 mm spare from a surfacing plane will not drop into the rebate body.
Why do the weights not match the shop?
Amazon prints 580 g for the Pocket and 1.13 kg for the listing titled G30. The maker's sheets say about 0.338 kg for the Pocket and 0.458 kg for G03 code 105715. Use the amazon gram for the amazon order. Do not correct it with the sheet unless you are buying the shop card.
