Gas regulator with pressure gauge

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are replacing the regulator on a barbecue, a patio heater, or a camping stove, and the amazon.co.uk title mentions a dial. A gas regulator with pressure gauge still has to match the cylinder valve in your hand and the millibar rating the appliance was built for. The dial does not make a wrong inlet safe. This page is the decision tree for the eight listings in our [gas regulator with pressure gauge comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/gas-regulator-with-pressure-gauge). Prices and review counts are the captured amazon.co.uk figures. Peter F. edits DIY and tools at productscompared.co.uk. We did not measure outlet pressure, and this page does not walk you through a spanner.

Four UK fittings

UK cylinders for outdoor cooking use four valves. A blue 4.5 kg butane cylinder takes a screw-on. Calor states 29 mbar for that bottle. Larger butane cylinders, typically 7 kg and 15 kg, take a 21 mm clip-on. Patio gas is propane on a 27 mm clip-on at 37 mbar. A full-size propane cylinder takes a POL regulator at about 37 mbar. A 21 mm clip-on is not a 27 mm patio clip-on. In this capture the clip-on gauge listing states 30 mbar and a 21 mm inlet. One verified review says it did not fit a 13 kg Flogas cylinder. If the valve is a 27 mm patio head, none of the gauge listings kept here is that part. The pressure split is on the butane vs propane regulator page.

What the butane rows actually state

The eight rows are low-pressure butane, unreviewed G7 bodies, and adjustable high-pressure regulators. B07575255J is £12.49 with 4.3 from 319 reviews. It includes a gauge, and the bullets do not state an outlet pressure or a hose. B0GGLT74PR is £13.95 with 4.7 from 27 reviews. It states 28/30 mbar, an 8 mm outlet, and 1.5 kg/h, in the same band as Calor's 29 mbar screw-on. Twenty-seven reviews are a thinner record than 319. B0H5L9GZRT at £14.95 is the 21 mm, 30 mbar clip-on, with 4.3 from seven reviews and that Flogas miss. None of these three lists a hose.

G7 bodies and bar-range regulators

B0HGXPVCW9 and B0H986LL7W have no star line. The bullets name a G7 inlet. That is not UK POL. If the valve in your hand is not identifiable as G7, leave both. Do not average them into a bargain propane regulator. B09J8ZLMP6, B0CZTTDBZV, and B0DSLW7GYZ are high-pressure parts. Two are described in bar, and B0DSLW7GYZ is 0–30 PSI. Turning a 0.5 bar regulator down does not make a fixed 37 mbar barbecue regulator. Only the PSI listing states a hose, and that hose belongs to that unit. A gauge does not rescue a G7 body on a POL cylinder.

Marks, age, and hose

Liquid Gas UK points buyers at BS EN 16129 and a service life of about ten years. Rubber hose is commonly replaced around five years, and sooner if it is cracked, swollen, or past the date on the hose. Those are category rules. None of the eight listings is described here as an EN 16129 product, because the captured files do not show that mark. Read the date ring on the regulator and the date on the hose, including a hose you already own. If you cannot read a pressure or an inlet on the body, skip the listing. Direction of turn and the soap test stay on the how to fit a gas regulator page.

Common questions

Which regulator fits a Calor 4.5 kg blue butane cylinder?
Calor specifies a screw-on at 29 mbar for the 4.5 kg butane cylinder. In this capture that is B07575255J and B0GGLT74PR, not the 21 mm clip-on. B0GGLT74PR states 28/30 mbar, an 8 mm outlet, and 1.5 kg/h. B07575255J does not state the outlet pressure, so you confirm the figure on the body. Neither includes a hose.
Is a 21 mm clip-on the same as a 27 mm patio clip-on?
No. A 21 mm clip-on is the butane fitting on larger cylinders, such as 7 kg and 15 kg. A 27 mm clip-on is patio gas, propane at about 37 mbar. The only clip-on gauge listing here is the 21 mm, 30 mbar model at £14.95. There is no 27 mm gauge regulator among the eight rows.
Does 37 mbar suit a butane camping stove?
A butane stove or barbecue is normally about 28–30 mbar, not 37 mbar. 37 mbar is the usual UK propane appliance pressure. The fittings differ first, and the pressure would still be wrong if the threads met. Use a butane screw-on or a 21 mm butane clip-on for butane, and keep 37 mbar for a propane valve that matches.
Is a G7 inlet a UK POL fitting?
Not on the evidence in these listings. B0HGXPVCW9 and B0H986LL7W name G7 and have no UK review line. UK propane cylinders in general retail use a POL connection. If you cannot match G7 to the valve in your hand, do not buy either listing as a stand-in for a POL regulator.
Can I turn a 0.5–2 bar regulator down for a barbecue?
No. A regulator that starts at 0.5 bar is a high-pressure part. A gas barbecue expects a fixed low pressure, about 28–30 mbar on butane or 37 mbar on propane. Closing an adjuster does not convert B09J8ZLMP6, B0CZTTDBZV, or the 0–30 PSI listing into that part. This guide does not recommend fitting a bar-range or PSI-range regulator to a millibar grill.
How long should a regulator and a rubber hose last?
Liquid Gas UK points to BS EN 16129 and a regulator life of about ten years, with rubber hose on a shorter cycle of around five years, or earlier if the hose is damaged or out of date. That is category guidance. It does not mean these listings are marked EN 16129. Read the date on the regulator and on the hose you fit.
