Enders BBQ 30 mbar or 37 mbar

Updated: 23 October 2026

You already have a patio-gas bottle, a butane cylinder, or a caravan barbecue point, and the Enders carton does not say which of those it wants. Enders BBQ 30 mbar or 37 mbar is the check before you connect anything. A clip that fits is not a pressure that matches. The four listings on the [Enders gas BBQ](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/enders-gas-bbq) comparison do not name a regulator in the box. Once the plate and the regulator agree, lighting is a separate job on [how to light an Enders gas barbecue](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/enders-gas-bbq/sub/enders-gas-bbq-how-to-use).

Three pressures you will see

Liquid Gas UK’s Consumer Guidance Sheet 39, from August 2020, puts UK butane nominally at 28–30 mbar and UK propane at 37 mbar. Caravans built to EN 1949 use 30 mbar for both gases, a change the Camping and Caravanning Club dates to September 2003. The regulator’s outlet has to match the appliance. New regulators are marked to BS EN 16129. Bullfinch’s low-pressure note splits the data-plate labels. Category I3+ is 28 or 29 mbar butane, or 37 mbar propane, and that includes a 27 mm patio clip-on. Category I3B/P is 30 mbar. A portable appliance may be allowed to run from a 30 mbar point, and the instructions still rule. A San Diego 4 manual, a different model, records GB category I3+ at 28–30/37 mbar. That does not prove this amazon carton is that version. Fifty millibar is the pressure UK patio gas is not. Putting a 37 mbar patio clip-on on a plate marked 50 mbar is the mistake this page exists to stop. A clip that physically fits a cylinder is only the connection.

What the amazon rows actually print

Only the San Diego 2, B09V837YRK, at about £123.62, prints a pressure: 30 mbar in the title. Included components names a thermometer. It does not name a hose, a regulator, or a cover, even where the title uses a cover phrase. You cannot treat that 30 mbar as a regulator in the carton, or as a 37 mbar patio clip-on. The other three rows do not print a pressure. The manufacturer page for article 210833 says the 30 mbar hose and regulator are not included, and it quotes 4.4 kW. That line does not transfer to the blue model 2108, which states 4,400 watts and no pressure. Article 210830 is the Explorer caravan hose. B0DK59X4BN prints 210833, not 210830. BBQ World lists a San Diego 3, article 8116633, at £149 with a 27 mm clip-on stated. That article is not B09V837YRK and not the Next 3. Bullfinch ties a 27 mm clip-on to I3+ and 37 mbar propane. The plate on the unit you unpack still beats the title and the other shop.

Patio bottle, butane, or caravan point

The usual UK case is a patio cylinder of propane and a 37 mbar regulator on a 27 mm clip-on. Use that only when the data plate is the I3+ propane duty, 37 mbar. If the plate says 30 mbar, a 37 mbar patio regulator is the wrong outlet even if the clip feels familiar. Butane sits at 28–30 mbar, with its own regulator. These four listings do not give a winter figure. The Explorer can be set up for a bottle or a threaded cartridge. The amazon rows do not include that kit. A screw-in cartridge regulator is not the 27 mm patio clip-on. A caravan barbecue point is 30 mbar on outfits built since that 2003 change, if the instructions agree. The Camping and Caravanning Club says a barbecue does not belong in an awning, and warns against feeding the caravan from an external cylinder through the barbecue point. GOV.UK still says you do not use the barbecue inside the caravan. The stand-or-camping choice sits in the Enders gas BBQ buying guide.

When Gas Safe is not the next step

Gas Safe Register does not have to attend an ordinary outdoor clip-on when the regulator matches the plate and you are not altering fixed pipework. Fixed pipework is regulated work. If you are unsure, stop. Until the plate and the regulator agree, leave the valve shut.

Common questions

What is a 30 mbar Enders for?
Thirty millibar is the EN 1949 caravan pressure for both gases since September 2003, and it is the I3B/P category in the Bullfinch note. The San Diego 2 title prints 30 mbar, and the Explorer 210833 page says the 30 mbar regulator is not included. It does not mean your 37 mbar patio clip-on is correct.
Does San Diego 2 include the regulator its title implies?
No. The title prints 30 mbar. Included components names the thermometer and does not list a hose or a regulator. A different shop’s San Diego 3 with a stated 27 mm clip-on is article 8116633, not this ASIN.
Can I use the caravan barbecue point?
Only if the barbecue is a 30 mbar appliance and the instructions allow that point. The Club says a barbecue does not belong in an awning, and that you should not feed the caravan through the barbecue point. Article 210830 is the caravan hose. The black amazon Explorer prints 210833, so do not assume that hose is in the box.
Is butane fine in winter?
The guidance sheet sets butane at 28–30 mbar and propane at 37 mbar. It does not give a winter output for these four Enders listings. Use the regulator and the gas the plate names. Do not swap a butane regulator onto a propane patio bottle because the weather has changed.
Do I need Gas Safe to clip a patio bottle on?
Not for an ordinary outdoor clip-on when the regulator matches the plate and you are not touching fixed pipework. Change the cylinder outdoors and stop if you are unsure. Fixed pipework is a Gas Safe job. The leak test starts after this match, not before it.
