Enders gas BBQ buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are looking at a UK terrace, or at the boot of the car, and the Enders range has too many names for one shopping trip. An Enders gas BBQ in this comparison is either a narrow San Diego stand you assemble once, or an Explorer you strip down for a trip. The four amazon.co.uk rows on the [Enders gas BBQ](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/enders-gas-bbq) comparison run from about £123.62 to £209.67, and none of them names a hose or regulator in the included-components line. This page puts the job and the data plate ahead of the star line, so you know which row to open and which carton to leave.

Two jobs, not one range

Enders sells more than the four listings kept here. A Chicago-class cart is a different job, with a deeper cabinet and a different budget, and it is not in this table. San Diego, including the Next 3, is the stand: side shelves, a warming rack, and assembly required. Explorer II Pro is the lighter grill, about 10 kg, with legs you are meant to stow. If the barbecue will live on a terrace, the stand is the job. If you pack it, the Explorer is the job. Model 2108 and model 210833 are separate rows. That fork is Enders San Diego vs Explorer.

What each listing actually prints

The San Diego 2, B09V837YRK, is the two-burner stand at about £123.62. The bullets name a piezo, included components names a thermometer, and the cooking area is 1,237.5 cm². The same page prints 1,919.5 watts and 5 kg. The Enders English catalogue 2026 prints article 8114633 at a higher output and a higher weight, and at 30 mbar. Do not correct the amazon row in your head. The plate on the unit is the figure that matters. The San Diego Next 3, B0DK57B82K, is the three-burner stand at about £179 and 18 kg, with a hinged stainless warming rack. The blue Explorer, B0DGTMZSRK, is about £209.67, model 2108, 10.8 kg and 4,400 watts. The black Explorer, B0DK59X4BN, is about £199, model 210833, 10 kg, with plug-in legs and a cooking area of 1,536 cm². They are not one product with two colours.

Burners, grate, and what is missing from the box

Direct Stoves’ 2026 note treats one or two burners as enough for a couple and three or four as the family size. That is a rule of thumb about grate space, not an Enders test. The San Diego 2 gives you 37.5 × 33 cm in the bullets. The Next 3 does not print a cooking area, so a third burner is not proof of a larger grate. These four listings sit under that guide’s £300–£800 family band. On the Explorer with 131 ratings, the written reviews are marked Germany and keep saying the grate sticks. A cast-iron grate is a separate, series-specific buy, and the Next series is not the same grate family as Urban II and Explorer II. Only the San Diego 2 lists a thermometer. Its title prints 30 mbar and a cover phrase, but included components does not name a cover. Patio propane is normally a 37 mbar regulator on a 27 mm clip-on. How the pressures differ is Enders BBQ 30 mbar or 37 mbar.

Where you may light it

These are outdoor LPG barbecues. GOV.UK says you do not use one indoors, in a tent, under an awning, or in a caravan, and you store cylinders outside. London Fire Brigade’s April 2024 leaflet says do not use a barbecue on a balcony. A garden terrace is not a flat balcony. If the only place you can stand the grill is a balcony, this set is the wrong purchase. Assembly is required on every row. The black Explorer’s bullets say the legs plug in without tools, and assembly required is still yes. If a joint still bubbles on a soapy-water check, the hose is cracked, a burner will not shut off, or someone wants the barbecue on fixed pipework, that is a competent person.

Common questions

How many burners do I need?
Direct Stoves’ rule of thumb is one or two burners for a couple and three or four for a family meal. In this set that points you at the San Diego 2 or an Explorer for two people, and at the San Diego Next 3 when you want a third burner.
Does the amazon listing include a UK patio regulator?
No. None of the four included-components lines names a hose or a regulator. The San Diego 2 title prints 30 mbar, which is not a 37 mbar patio clip-on in the box. The manufacturer page for Explorer article 210833 says the 30 mbar hose and regulator are not included.
Is a three-burner Next worth more than the two-burner San Diego 2 in this set?
The Next 3 is about £179 against about £123.62, so you pay £55.38 more for a third burner, a listed 18 kg, and 4.7 from 9 ratings instead of 3.7 from 7. You do not get a printed cooking area, a piezo, or a thermometer on the Next 3 page, and the power line prints both 6,750 watts and 6,750 kilowatts.
What should I ignore the star rating for?
Ignore it as proof of a UK test, as proof the gas fittings are in the box, and as proof the 5.0 from one rating is the best grill here. The blue Explorer’s 131 ratings are the largest count, and the texts are marked Germany.
Why do the San Diego 2 kilograms and watts look wrong?
B09V837YRK prints 1,919.5 watts and 5 kg for article 8114633. The Enders English catalogue 2026 prints that article at 5.6 kW, 30 mbar, and 13 kg. Read the plate on the unit you unpack.
