Enders San Diego vs Explorer

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are stuck between a narrow stand that lives on the terrace and a grill you can take apart for the car. Enders San Diego vs Explorer is that fork, not the whole buying ladder. San Diego stays put. Explorer is the one you strip down, and the grate on the busiest Explorer listing may need money on top. The prices and the four rows sit on the [Enders gas BBQ](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/enders-gas-bbq) comparison. Burner-count theory and the balcony rule stay in the [Enders gas BBQ buying guide](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/enders-gas-bbq/sub/enders-gas-bbq-buying-guide).

Stand or stow

San Diego, including the Next, is the small trolley you build and leave. Explorer II Pro is the camping grill. The manufacturer page for article 210833 describes stowable legs, about 4.4 kW, and says the 30 mbar hose and regulator are not included. This is the grill you pack, and the gas kit is extra. San Diego 2, B09V837YRK, is 52 × 94 × 97 cm, 1,237.5 cm², and the listing weight is 5 kg, which clashes with the catalogue weight for article 8114633. San Diego Next 3, B0DK57B82K, is 52 × 102 × 97 cm and 18 kg. You gain a third burner, and you do not gain a printed cooking area. Explorer model 210833, B0DK59X4BN, is 48 × 59 × 78 cm, 10 kg, and 1,536 cm². Explorer model 2108, B0DGTMZSRK, is 59 × 48 × 80 cm and 10.8 kg, with 4,400 watts printed and no cooking area. Both are lighter than the 18 kg Next 3. A terrace job is the San Diego. A boot job is the Explorer, and you give up the warming rack.

Grate, rack, and legs

The San Diego 2 lists a swinging stainless warming rack and a thermometer. The Next 3 lists a hinged stainless warming rack and does not list a thermometer. The Explorer pages do not print a warming rack. The black 210833 row instead prints plug-in legs that store in the cooking chamber without tools. The blue 2108 row says assembly is required and does not make that tool-free claim. Only the black listing describes those legs. On the blue Explorer, 4.2 from 131 amazon.co.uk ratings, the written reviews are marked Germany. They say the included grate sticks, and that a cast-iron grate is a separate buy for Urban II and Explorer II, not for the Next series. Those shop pages are not GBP prices on these ASINs. The cast grate is not in the box, and a Next grate is not the Explorer grate. The black Explorer has no written review.

Two Explorers, not one

Model 2108 and model 210833 both say Explorer II Pro. They are different listings. The blue 2108 is about £209.67, 4,400 watts, 10.8 kg, no bag included, and 4.2 from 131 ratings, with a Germany-marked written sample. The black 210833 is about £199, 10 kg, 1,536 cm², tool-free legs in the bullets, and 5.0 from 1 rating with no review text. Output on the black amazon page is not stated. The manufacturer’s 4.4 kW line belongs to the 210833 article page, not to the blue row. The San Diego 2 title prints 30 mbar and does not list a hose. The Next 3 and both Explorers do not print a pressure. Article 210830 is the caravan hose. B0DK59X4BN prints 210833, not 210830. Buying an Explorer does not put a 37 mbar patio clip-on in the carton. A skip line for each row is on best Enders gas BBQ.

Pot supports are not a printed line

The camping-grill description of the Explorer includes pot supports. The amazon rows for 2108 and 210833 do not print a pot-support line, so you confirm that on the unit. A pot does not replace the missing regulator or turn the Explorer into a San Diego with a warming rack. Open the San Diego Next 3 if you want the stand with three burners at about £179. Open the San Diego 2 if you want the listed thermometer. Open the black Explorer if the plug-in legs are the feature you need. Open the blue Explorer if you want the watts printed and you will price a grate.

Common questions

Which one stays in the garden?
The San Diego stays. It is the stand with a warming rack and a footprint in the 52 cm width class. The Next 3 at 18 kg is the one you will not want to lift into a boot. The San Diego 2 lists 5 kg on amazon, which disagrees with the catalogue’s 13 kg, so do not plan the lift from the catalogue.
Which one goes in the car?
The Explorer. Model 210833 lists 10 kg and 48 × 59 × 78 cm, with plug-in legs in the bullets. Model 2108 lists 10.8 kg and says no bag is included. You pack them cold, after the cylinder is off, and you still buy the hose and regulator the box does not list.
Why do Explorer reviews attack the grate?
On the blue Explorer the written reviews are marked Germany, and they say the stainless grate sticks and that a cast-iron grate is a separate, series-specific purchase. That sample is not a UK owner panel, and non-UK grate prices are not the cost to quote here.
Are the two Explorer listings the same grill?
No. B0DGTMZSRK is model 2108, blue, about £209.67, 4,400 watts, 10.8 kg, and 4.2 from 131 ratings. B0DK59X4BN is model 210833, black, about £199, 10 kg, 1,536 cm², and 5.0 from 1 rating. The manufacturer’s 4.4 kW note is the 210833 article page.
Does San Diego include a regulator?
Not on these listings. The San Diego 2 title prints 30 mbar, and included components names a thermometer, not a hose or a regulator. A different San Diego 3 at another shop states a 27 mm clip-on, and that article is not either ASIN.
