BBQ trolley buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are in a side return with a portable oven, and the amazon.co.uk page is selling stars before it sells a size. A BBQ trolley buying guide should start with the job: a wheeled prep table, not the cabinet inside a full gas barbecue and not a fabric cover. Kept listings here run from £69.99 to £199.99. The [grill cart comparison](/hub/grill-accessories/grill-cart) holds the product table. Updated 20 October 2026 from amazon.co.uk listing text. What you are actually buying

The default in this search is a fixed prep cart: a metal frame, a worktop, a shelf, and wheels. Onlyfire, PARGRILL, Vivo Technologies, and Yvsevnr sit in that group, though their loads, brakes, and size lines do not. Folding carts, KHAMAL and MDDK DY, store flatter. They are not automatically the light ones. KHAMAL lists 13.5 kg and MDDK 13.9 kg, while the fixed Onlyfire F-OKA9113 lists 9 kg empty. A cupboard cart, Onlyfire F-OKA9119, hides bottles and tools behind a magnet door. A sink kitchen, YODOLLA, opens to 235 cm and needs a hose and a drain. Covers on their own, and indoor microwave trolleys, are a different search.

Load, then wheels

Read the stated top load before the star line, and keep the oven on the main top. Vivo prints 100 kg on a cart that lists 12 kg empty. PARGRILL prints 88 kg. YODOLLA's worktop is 54 kg and the cupboard 29 kg. Onlyfire F-OKA9113 prints 40 kg. The cupboard cart prints 30 kg. Onlyfire F-OKA9118 prints about 40 kg in a bullet and 300 pounds on another line, so those two figures should stay side by side rather than be merged. KHAMAL, Yvsevnr, MDDK, and Nomiou do not state a top load at all. None of these loads was weighed for this page.

Material and the path home

Unnamed stainless is not grade 304. In this set only Yvsevnr's bullets print 304, and that listing is 3.8 from 11 reviews with one UK text about a gas hole. Painted iron, which is what KHAMAL and Nomiou specify, rusts where the coating chips. The chemistry sits on stainless or painted BBQ table. Then measure the path. PARGRILL is the worked example of a conflict you should quote, not correct: the specification line says 118 x 84 x 50 cm, and the bullet top is 762 x 508 mm. Onlyfire F-OKA9113 prints three different footprints. YODOLLA is 29.5 kg and F-OKA9118 is listed at 40 kg, so plan a second person before the carton leaves the hall.

What to leave until last

Hooks, a towel rail, and a bottle opener organise the cook. They do not hold the oven. A cupboard is for dry tools. Calor's advice is to keep LPG upright and outdoors, away from heat. A side bracket for a cylinder up to 9 kg, which F-OKA9113 lists, is not a licence to shut the bottle in F-OKA9119's magnet cupboard. Yvsevnr's only UK review says the pictured gas hole would not pass a regulator. Stars are the last check, after load, brakes, material, and both size lines. The low end contains both KHAMAL at 4.6 from 24 and Nomiou at 3.7 from 76 with repeated assembly failures.

Common questions

What should I measure first on a grill cart?
Measure the main top against your oven and your peel, then read the stated kilogram load for that top. Leaves often have no separate load, so the oven stays on the main surface. After that, check wheel count and whether a brake is actually printed. Star ratings come after those three, because a 4.6 with no load figure is still an unrated top.
Is a higher kilogram claim always the stronger cart?
No. Vivo's 100 kg and Onlyfire F-OKA9113's 40 kg are both printed claims, and neither was verified here. Vivo's cart lists 12 kg empty and UK reviews mention rust and screws that are not stainless. A heavier stated load on a light frame is not a safety ranking. If the listing prints two loads, as F-OKA9118 does with about 40 kg and 300 pounds, quote both.
Do I need four wheels or two?
Four swivel castors are easier on a flat patio when at least two brakes lock. Two wheels plus feet can sit more firmly on uneven ground and are harder to swing once the oven is on. PARGRILL and YODOLLA state locks on four wheels. Several Onlyfire tables list two front wheels and no brake. Match the layout to the surface you actually cook on.
What does stainless mean if the grade is missing?
It means the seller has not named 304, 430, or any other grade. The top may still be a stainless alloy, or the word may be doing more work than the metal. Only Yvsevnr prints 304 in this set. Painted carts such as KHAMAL and Nomiou are a different material. Grade choice is set out on the stainless or painted page.
Will it fit through a normal UK door?
A common internal door leaf is about 762 mm wide, and your frame may be narrower. Compare that with every size line on the listing, not an average of them. PARGRILL's 118 cm specification line and its 762 mm bullet top cannot both be the width you wheel through the hall. If the carton is 29 kg or more, plan the carry before you assume it folds small enough.
Should I buy the sink unit if I only have a pizza oven?
YODOLLA is the sink unit, at £199.99, 235 cm open, with a 156 x 49 cm top stated at 54 kg. It needs a water supply and a drain. A portable oven is a smaller job, and 49 cm of depth is a long strip rather than a square prep bench. Choose it when you want the sink. Otherwise stay with a prep cart.
