Gardena sprinkler low water pressure is usually that gap: a catalogue maximum measured somewhere with more push than the hose on your tap. Every long figure in this set is an up-to figure. The Aqua S lists 7–17 m, the Aqua M 8–18 m and this Aqua L listing 8–16 m. The AquaZoom M lists 3–18 m and up to 250 m². The compact title lists 3–18 m, and one bullet says 3 to a maximum of 12 m. The Premium pulse lists a throw up to 12.5 m. AquaZoom M reviews describe about 6 m by 10 m, and about 7 m by 6 m. Expert Reviews saw about 18 m only while there was enough pressure, and they do not publish the bar at the tap. Minimum area, if you have not chosen a head, is the buying guide.

What the UK pressure rule actually measures

Ofwat states a minimum of 7 metres static head, which is 0.7 bar, in the communication pipe. That pipe ends at the property boundary. The rule is about water arriving at the edge of the premises. It is not a promise of 0.7 bar at a nozzle 20 m of hose later, and it is not a promise of an 18 m throw. A long hose, a kink, a dirty filter and a second head all sit between that 0.7 bar and the jet. The legal minimum can be met while the sprinkler still misses the catalogue maximum. In a drought, Ofwat notes that guaranteed-standards pressure payments do not apply in the same way. Printed flows are maxima, not flows recorded at 0.7 bar.

What to check before you send it back

Straighten the first metre at the tap and the coil on the patio before you print a return label. A loop that still holds its shape will starve an oscillating arm even when the kitchen tap feels normal. A side leak at the washer is water that never reaches the nozzles. Then clean the head the way that family is built, on how to set a Gardena sprinkler. Aqua bars use the needle and a twist-off metal filter. AquaZoom soft nozzles are wiped with a finger. A pin in a soft nozzle does not recover the missing metres. If a use ban allows it, try a shorter hose once. A head that reaches further on 10 m than on 30 m is showing loss in the pipe. If the arm sweeps and the far edge is still short of the box, keep the head and move it.

A larger model will not invent pressure

Stepping from the Aqua S to the Aqua L does not create bar. The Aqua L lists 120–280 m², with range capped at 16 m and a printed maximum flow of 10 litres per minute, below the Aqua S at 12. The compact's own reviews say it will not compensate for dreadful pressure. The AquaZoom M's 18 m in Expert Reviews happened when pressure allowed it, not because the head weighs 800 g. Daisy-chaining does not add pressure. The Premium pulse bullets mention a second sprinkler, while the included-components field says no, and a stuck head is a separate complaint from a short throw. Listing maximum-pressure fields are ceilings, not the pressure needed for the longest throw. If indoor taps are persistently poor, call the water company. The best Gardena sprinkler page does not repair a weak supply either.

Common questions

Why is my Gardena sprinkler not reaching the distance on the box?

The distance is a maximum, not a UK mains guarantee. AquaZoom M reviews describe about 6 m by 10 m and about 7 m by 6 m against a stated range of 3–18 m. A short, even rectangle can be normal on an ordinary tap.

Is 0.7 bar enough for an 18 m throw?

Ofwat's 0.7 bar is 7 metres of static head in the communication pipe, up to the property boundary. It does not claim 18 m at a nozzle on the end of a garden hose. You can meet that minimum and still miss the catalogue throw. Hose length and fittings sit in between, and that loss has not been measured here.

Is a short throw a fault?

Not by itself. Check kink, filter and nozzle before you treat a short even rectangle as a defect. A head that will not move at all, after those checks, is a different problem. The even short pattern is the supply.

What should I check on the hose before I return it?

Unkink the run, reseat the washer, rinse the inlet filter and, if the rules allow, try a shorter hose once. Aqua needles clear Aqua holes. A finger clears AquaZoom soft nozzles. If the throw grows on the shorter hose, the head is doing what the pressure allows.

Will a bigger Gardena model fix low pressure?

No. A larger stated area does not raise the pressure at the nozzle. The compact's own reviews say it will not fix dreadful pressure. The Aqua L still lists a maximum of 16 m on this page. Move a smaller head, or water in two positions.

When is low pressure a water-company issue rather than a sprinkler issue?

When indoor taps are persistently poor as well, not only the sprinkler on a long hose. Ofwat's minimum applies at the communication pipe to the boundary, and drought can change how pressure standards are applied. A sprinkler that is merely shorter than 18 m, while the kitchen tap is normal, is not that call.
