Best grafting tape

Updated: 22 October 2026

You want the best grafting tape for one job, and amazon.co.uk has mixed a 100 m roll with a 10 g pack and a sleeve. There is no single winner in this set of eleven. A long roll, a wider polyethylene pair, wax-and-polyolefin wording and a silicone sleeve are different objects, and each one names who should leave it. Named Parafilm from the Agroforestry Research Trust, at £13 for 1 inch by 90 feet, is not an ASIN here. The full table stays on the [grafting tape comparison](/hub/garden-tree-and-hedge-shears/grafting-tape). Peter F. set these splits on 21 October 2026. A long roll with a stated length

SKYPRO, B09XB1989X, is one PVC roll stated as 2 cm by 100 m at £4.99, with 4.3 from 209 reviews. UK texts mention an apple graft, no adhesive, and a branch that wind pulled free. The title says bio-degradable and the material line says PVC. Take it when you will cut a stated 100 m roll off. Leave it when you need about 3 cm. Bailinks, B0BR38JXMD, is two polyethylene rolls, about 100 m by 3 cm, at £5.89, with 4.5 from 100 reviews. A UK note of about 50 apple grafts says the first turn slips, and another roll had fused. The two METERXITY packs state 125 m by 2 cm and share one 4.2 from 30. Do not recommend them twice.

The wax-polyolefin listing

Detetap, B08SWC1NJ6, is the only listing whose bullets say polyolefin and a little wax: 3 cm by 100 m at £5.99, with 4.2 from 201 reviews. The material field says polyethylene. The title does not say parafilm. One UK review says the film will not stick together or tie tightly. Amcor’s sheet describes a wax and polyolefin blend that seals when stretched. These bullets use similar words. They do not make this ASIN that product. Take Detetap when you can accept that review. Leave it for the Trust’s named Parafilm at £13. The material essay is on parafilm versus PVC grafting tape.

A small pack, and the sleeve

shweehon, B0GGBC4C3Y, is four PVC pieces, 5.5 by 2 cm, 10 g, at £5.09, and the field says not water resistant. One UK review wanted more width. Take it for a few narrow ties. Leave it for a 5 cm cut on pencil-thick wood. ACKKOR is 100 silicone sleeves for 3–7.5 mm, at £4.99, with 5.0 from one review and no paragraph. The Royal Horticultural Society’s pencil thickness is about 8 mm. Take the sleeves only inside the stated band. How the film goes on is on how to use grafting tape.

Leave these

kcrnw is 10 g at £6.89, with parafilm in the title and PVC in the bullets. UK texts say florist tape should hold the graft, or that the bond only works near breaking point. SwiftCartSZH is 20 g. Wufaa’s 5.0 from one review has no text, and dimensions of 5 by 3 by 1 cm do not match a 100 m bullet. Yurifaz at £7.39 has no metre length and says not water resistant. Skip the set for the Trust’s £13 Parafilm and for rose T-budding, which the Royal Horticultural Society puts on a rubber tie or damp raffia.

Common questions

Which long roll has a stated length and a UK review paragraph?
SKYPRO states 2 cm by 100 m at £4.99, with 4.3 from 209 reviews, and UK texts mention an apple graft, a lack of adhesive, and a branch that wind pulled free. Bailinks states about 100 m by 3 cm on two rolls at £5.89, with 4.5 from 100, including about 50 apple grafts and a roll that fused. The METERXITY 125 m lines are stated lengths too, but the 4.2 from 30 is one shared sample across two ASINs.
Which listing is the wax-polyolefin line?
Detetap’s bullets say polyolefin and a little wax, on a 3 cm by 100 m roll at £5.99, with 4.2 from 201 reviews. The material field on that listing says polyethylene. The title does not say parafilm. It is not the Agroforestry Research Trust’s named Parafilm at £13. A UK review says the film will not stick together or tie tightly.
When is a 10 g or 20 g pack the right buy?
When you want a few short pieces and you read the weight, not the title. shweehon is 10 g, size field 5.5 by 2 cm, not water resistant, and one UK review wanted more width. kcrnw at 10 g and SwiftCartSZH at 20 g are the wrong buy when the title’s 2 cm by 100 m is what you thought you were paying for.
Who are the silicone sleeves for?
ACKKOR’s 100 sleeves are stated for graft points of 3–7.5 mm, at £4.99, with no knots, glue or tools in the bullets. The star line is 5.0 from one review and there is no paragraph. Leave them if the wood is about 8 mm, which is the Royal Horticultural Society’s pencil thickness, because 8 mm is outside 7.5 mm.
Why are the two METERXITY star lines not two recommendations?
Both ASINs show 4.2 from 30, the same rank line, and the same five review texts, including the UK line about a small ornamental tree. The one-roll is £4.69 and says water resistant. The two-roll is £4.79 and has no water-resistance field. Counting the stars twice invents a second sample.
Why is a 5.0 from one review not the pick?
Wufaa and the ACKKOR sleeves both show 5.0 from one review, and neither file has a review paragraph. A perfect star with no sentence does not describe a graft, a width or the weather. Prefer a stated length plus a UK review sentence, even when the average is 4.2 or 4.3.
What if you need named Parafilm?
Buy the Agroforestry Research Trust roll at £13, 1 inch by 90 feet, which is outside this set. The Trust says it seals to itself and falls away in summer on their account. None of these eleven titles becomes that film because the word parafilm appears in the title. Rose T-budding is a separate skip: a rubber tie or damp raffia, not this film.
