Best stacking garden chairs in the UK

Updated: 22 October 2026

You are comparing four green plastic chairs on amazon.co.uk, and a 4.2 star line is not a winner by itself. The best stacking garden chairs in this set are conditional: four seats for the largest review file, six where the size lines agree, eight for a full pack, and the VTL chair only if the size block is broken. Peter F. used the listings captured on 21 October 2026, not a UK-wide lab test. None of these pages is the best stacking chair in the country. The table is the [garden stacking chairs comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/garden-stacking-chairs). A purchase through our links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

There is no single best chair in this set

A conditional pick names the job first. Pack size and review depth decide inside this file, because the star band is only 4.0 to 4.2 and every listing omits a user weight. The set of four has 469 ratings, the set of six 210, the set of eight 77, and the VTL chair 23. A higher star on the shorter file does not cancel snapped legs in the longer one. simpa.co.uk shows a Solana low-back chair at £21.99, 80 × 38 × 55 cm, still with no user weight, retrieved on 21 October 2026. The amazon titles do not say Solana, so this page does not merge the SKUs. The checklist before a pick is the stacking garden chairs buying guide.

Most reviewed spare seats

The top pick is the simpahome clam-back set of four, B093Q68MXV, at £56.99, because 469 ratings are the largest sample, not because a test house ranked the plastic. One buyer at about 15 stone, roughly 95 kg, called them sturdy after a month. That is one person’s month, not a limit. The same file is where the legs fail: the joint at the seat snaps, rain pools, and the chairs blow about. At least two reviews describe a sitter thrown backwards. The attribute size, 57 × 53 × 77 cm, does not match the bullet height of about 80 cm. Skip the pack if you will not buy a chair without a printed load. The sets of six and eight are more chairs, not a safer chair, and they use a low back.

When you need six or eight

Choose the set of six, B098QSWNNG, at £77.99 when you want six low-back chairs and the size lines mostly agree. The attribute is 38 × 55 × 80 cm, in line with the bullets, at 4.0 from 210 ratings. About £13 a chair on simple division is why it is the best value here, if you still read the snaps. The indoor attribute says indoor while the title says indoor or outdoor. Choose the set of eight, B098TBHG9H, at £97.99 only for eight places in one box. It is 4.2 from 77 ratings. It does not take the value mark, because the attribute is 61 × 57 × 81 cm against an 80 cm bullet, and a field says swivel when the bullets do not. How the packs map onto a guest list is on stacking chairs for a garden party.

One chair, or a printed weight

The VTL chair, B0B7FG66PJ, is £21.99 for one seat, 4.1 from 23 ratings. Use it for a balcony or a shed only if you will measure it. The bullets say 82 cm high, 55 cm long and 53 cm wide. The attribute says 40 × 30 × 30 cm. Number of items is 1, despite the word set. Four of them would still be four unresolved size blocks, and dearer than the set of four if the £21.99 price held. Leave the table when you want a printed load. Argos states 110 kg on the Bica, and JYSK states a 110 kg test on the Ingstrup and the Nabben. A tectake set, B0F3NQ3QQW, stated 110 kg. None of those is a row here. Do not write 110 kg onto these listings.

Common questions

Which of these four should I buy?
Buy the set of four if you want the largest review file and four clam-back seats at £56.99. Buy the set of six if you want six chairs and the size blocks that mostly agree, at £77.99. Buy the set of eight only for eight places, and inspect them on arrival. Buy the VTL chair only as one seat you will measure yourself. If you need a printed weight, buy none of them.
Is the 4.2-star set of eight better than the 4.0-star set of four?
No. The set of eight has 77 ratings. The set of four has 469, and those reviews describe snapped legs, pooled rain and chairs that blow about. The higher star is the thinner file. Pack size can still make the eight the right count. It does not make it the stronger chair.
Is the VTL chair the budget pick?
It is the lowest shelf price, at £21.99, and it is one chair with 23 ratings and a size block that says both 82 cm and 40 × 30 × 30 cm. The best value in this set is the set of six, about £13 a chair with 210 ratings and a size pair that agrees. A cheap single with unusable dimensions is not the same thing.
Are the simpahome packs the same chair in different quantities?
Not on the pages we have. The set of four is a clam back. The sets of six and eight are low backs, and their attribute sizes differ from each other. The brand’s Solana page uses a similar bullet size and is not named on these amazon titles. Treat the three ASINs as three listings.
What if I want a stated 110 kg limit?
Use a listing that prints it. Argos Bica, JYSK Ingstrup and Nabben, and the tectake set B0F3NQ3QQW all stated 110 kg in the sources used here. BS EN 581-2’s scope also uses 110 kg as a test basis, and these four amazon listings do not cite that standard. Do not write 110 kg onto them yourself.
Who should skip all four?
Skip them if you need a printed user weight, a seat that the listing says will drain, arms, a fold-flat chair, or dimensions that agree before delivery. A café or hall specification is a different product. So is anyone who would keep sitting after a leg has cracked.
