Before the first clip

Build it where it will stand. These cupboards are awkward once the back panel is in, and a Nova roof is a two-person lift in the instructions even though some buyers finish alone in about an hour. The purchase checks before this stage are the garden cupboard buying guide.

Shelves, doors and handles

There is no single numbered sequence that is honest for every ASIN. Titan Low is the listing that names snap and click in the bullets, and a review says a few screws are still needed, so click is not a promise of a tool-free build. Nova uses screws. The Outsunny is a fir frame with roof screws, not a resin click system.

Who must fix it to a wall

Read the wall sentence on your listing, not on the range. Planet, Stilo, Stilo High, Detroit Tall and Titan Low recommend a wall fix. Closet Low Plus, Nova, the Outsunny, Moby Low and Kis do not print that sentence in the bullets. Whether the listing is watertight is a different page: garden cupboard for outdoor use.

When to return it, and when to call someone

Return a cracked structural part instead of forcing it. Planet, Stilo High, Kis and Titan Low reviews say spare clips are refused or unavailable. Keter’s UK spare-parts selector sells some small plastic sets and says other parts may be out of stock or not supplied. The phone line published there is 0121 506 0008, Monday to Friday. Common questions

Do you build it where it will stand?
Yes, if you can. The Nova instructions suggest two people, partly because the roof is heavy, and some buyers still manage alone in about an hour once the base is level. An upright resin locker is lighter, often around 9 to 13 kg in the carton weight, but it becomes rigid and awkward after the back panel goes in. Carrying a finished Planet through a doorway is a good way to spring a clip you have just fitted.
What do you check before the first clip goes in?
Check that the ground is level, then match every panel, shelf, hinge and handle to the diagram. Count the shelf lugs. Titan Low, Planet, Kis and Closet reviews all include snapped or missing connectors, and a forced joint is the failure those reviews describe. If the base of a Nova is already cracked in the moulding, find that before the walls are on.
What happens if a shelf clip is already cracked?
Stop and use the return. Planet and Stilo High reviews say clips snap during the build and that replacements are refused. Keter’s spare-parts page says some parts are not supplied. Gluing a lug and hoping the 15 kg or 30 kg line still means something is how shelves end up on the floor the next day. Photograph the cracked part in the tray before you dispose of the carton.
Which of these listings tell you to fix the cupboard to a wall?
Planet, Stilo, Stilo High, Detroit Tall and Titan Low recommend a wall fix. Closet Low Plus, the Nova, the Outsunny, Moby Low and the Kis Titan do not print that sentence in the bullets. Stilo reviews still say an unfixed unit can blow over. If your listing is silent, the absence is not proof that wind will be kind. It only means the page did not tell you to drill.
Are wall screws in the box?
Do not assume so. The Detroit Tall manual says screws and anchors are not included, and the amazon.co.uk listing already warns that the instructions may be German. Other Keter rows do not all repeat that sentence. If the bag has panels and shelf lugs only, buy fixings that match your wall rather than driving a resin lug into masonry. The Outsunny uses its own timber screws for the frame.
Is the Outsunny the same job as a Keter click-together cupboard?
No. The Outsunny is fir, with a sloped roof and shutter doors, assembled with screws. Reviews often put that at 15 to 40 minutes for one person, with a two-person note on the sheet when the roof must line up. Keter’s Titan Low is the row that names snap and click. Mixing the two sets of instructions will leave you looking for clips the timber cupboard does not have.
When should you stop and use the return, and when do you need an electrician?
Stop and return the unit when a structural part is cracked, missing or split on arrival, or when the doors cannot be made to close without breaking a lug. Use an electrician if you cannot find cables before drilling. Use advice on listed buildings if the wall is protected. A spare-clip phone call will not cover a fall that has already hurt someone, or a written EN 14749 certificate these listings do not provide.
