Two seater wooden garden bench

Updated: 22 October 2026

You measured a 110 cm gap beside the shed, opened amazon.co.uk, and every three-seater is about 120 cm wide. A two seater wooden garden bench question is really a tape-measure question: will two adults sit, is the depth a seat or a perch, and will 150 cm ever fit a narrow courtyard. This page is fit only. Prices and the seven listings sit on our [wooden garden bench comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/garden-bench-wood). The Products Compared editorial team used the saved dimensions in this folder and public size rules of thumb. If you buy through our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What two-seater means on a tape measure

Wilfirs' UK buyer note puts about 1.2 m (roughly 4 ft) with two seats and about 1.5 m (roughly 5 ft) with three, and asks for about 600 mm clear in front so knees and a path still work. High-street sheets, including Kingfisher-style and M&S Napoli benches outside this set, often label 120 cm as two seats. Habitat's Pacific Cambridge 3-seater at 150 cm shows a wider three-adult footprint. Listings in this set near 120 to 123 cm still print three seats. UK reviews more often describe two adults. Believe the tape and the shoulders you need to host. Three children can share 120 cm for a short picnic. Three adults for an evening usually want closer to 150 cm. Species, once the gap is clear, sits on teak or pine garden bench.

The seven widths and depths

Garden Vida rose, cross and twin-cross patterns print about 53 × 123 × 74 cm with a 39 cm seat height: plastic decorative backs, listed as three. The slatted pine bench prints 62 × 120 × 82 cm with a 36.5 cm seat height, a timber back and arms. VEVOR prints about 63.5 × 122 × 94 cm with a 42 cm seat height. Furinno Tioman prints about 50.3 × 149.6 × 84.8 cm and 22 kg, the only width here near a three-adult line. Its seat-height field reprints the depth, so measure the assembled seat. SFAREST prints 100 × 30 × 47 cm and is backless. That width can clear a gap that rejects 120 cm. Thirty centimetres of depth is a perch, and the dimension fields look swapped in places, so check with a tape. A 110 cm alcove will not take Furinno.

Backless perch versus backed seat

A backed bench at 53 to 63 cm depth is for sitting against timber or plastic. A backless 30 cm perch is a quick rest, a hallway edge, or a temporary overflow seat. Search pages call both a two-seater wooden garden bench. They are not interchangeable. Who each listing is for, once the width is known, sits on best wooden garden bench.

What the gap rules out

Skip the SFAREST when you want two adults for coffee with a backrest. Skip the benches near 120 cm when three adults must sit shoulder to shoulder. Skip Furinno when the gap is under about 155 cm including clearance. Write the clear width on a scrap of paper before you click Buy now. The listing will not remeasure the shed wall for you. Back construction after you know the width belongs on the wooden garden bench buying guide.

Common questions

Will a 120 cm 3-seater fit two adults?
Usually yes. UK reviews describe two adults on the Garden Vida rows near 120 to 123 cm and on the VEVOR near 122 cm, even when the listing prints three seats. Three adults for an evening is the optimistic reading. Look at Furinno near 150 cm, and measure shoulders before you trust the seat-count line.
How much depth do I need to sit, not perch?
Backed benches here are about 53 cm on the plastic-back Garden Vida patterns and about 62 to 63.5 cm on the slatted pine bench and the VEVOR, enough to sit with a back. The SFAREST bullet is 30 cm deep, a perch rather than a 60 cm garden seat. Match the depth to how long you expect to stay.
Is the SFAREST a two-seater garden bench?
It claims two seats at 100 cm by 30 cm, with no back and no arms, at £47.99 and 7.5 kg. The width can clear a gap that rejects 120 cm. The depth cannot imitate a backed patio bench. There is one amazon.co.uk review, so fit is the reason to buy it, not a comfort verdict from a crowd.
Will 150 cm fit my 110 cm gap?
No. Furinno prints about 149.6 cm of width before you add clearance for the ends. A 110 cm alcove beside a shed is a 100 cm perch problem, or a reason to move the bench to a longer wall. Measure ivy, pipes and the open gate as well as the bare brick-to-brick span.
Do I need arms in a small courtyard?
Arms help you stand and they stop you sliding off the end, and they also steal a few centimetres inside the overall width. In this set the slatted Garden Vida and the VEVOR name arms. The rose, cross and twin-cross patterns do not list arms as their own row. If the gap is only a little wider than 123 cm, a bench without arms is the one that still fits.
What clear space do I leave in front?
About 600 mm is the Wilfirs rule of thumb so knees and a path still work. On a 53 cm deep bench that means the footprint in front of the wall is the bench depth plus that clearance. Narrower can work if nobody walks past.
Which bench in this set is actually wider?
Furinno Tioman, at about 149.6 cm, is the only width near a three-adult line. Garden Vida and VEVOR sit between about 120 and 123 cm. SFAREST is 100 cm. At 110 cm clear, only that backless perch is in range, and only if you accept 30 cm of depth.
