Updated: 23 October 2026

Best Pattex silicone, in this set, means which pack matches the job in front of you. It is not a claim that any pack is the best sealant in the UK. Figures are amazon.co.uk prices and stars from 19 October 2026. A check on 21 October 2026 still showed the 300 ml white cartridge at about £14.07 and 4.4 from 1,157 ratings. A full new bath bead

If you are cutting out a failed bead and laying a new one along a sink, a bath or a shower cubicle, the pack that names that job is Pattex 1506138, the 300 ml white neutral anti-mould cartridge, at about £14.07. It has the largest rating file here, 4.4 from 1,157. Reviewers describe a soft white paste and one cartridge that resealed a shower. Those notes are from Italy and Spain, not the United Kingdom. The listing does not state a water-resistance level. Some description text was read as transparent, but the cartridge is white. Nozzles were missing or already cut, and a 3x mention delivered one cartridge. The bead yellows for some people. You buy it when you already have a gun and the surface is one a sanitary silicone is allowed on. It is the wrong pack for an unchecked plastic bath, a window, or a bead you only wanted to paint.

One tap, no gun

The 50 ml transparent tube, model 2721071, at about £9.55, is the best value in this set for one tap or a short leak when there is no cartridge gun in the house. It is not the best price per millilitre. It scores 4.4 from 141 ratings. Reviewers used it on a stainless-steel sink and a short shower repair. The listing says waterproof and neutral. That neutral bullet has not been matched to the April 2020 alkoxy sheet and its 25% movement class. The tube is hard to press into one continuous bead, and the contents dry if air is left inside. One 300 ml cartridge holds six times the volume for about £14.07. Keep 2721071 for a single short joint you can finish before the paste skins in the nozzle.

A coating is not the best new bead

Pattex Re-New is about £14.28 for 280 ml and 4.2 from 370 ratings. Sista Neue Fuge is about £16.87 for 80 ml and 3.9 from 639 ratings, the lowest stars in the set. Both listings tell you to leave the old silicone in place. Re-New needs a gun. Neue Fuge is a squeeze bottle. Some reviewers got a white coat without cutting. The same notes also repeat a coat that stays soft, crumbles, lifts in water or yellows. A coating is only for a bead that is still attached. It is the wrong buy for an empty gap or a leak. The Re-New sheet lists showers as a use and, in the limitations, says it is not for showers, wet rooms or permanent damp. If the bead has lifted, cut it out and use the 300 ml sanitary cartridge.

When a shed cartridge is the shorter buy

On 20 October 2026, Screwfix listed No Nonsense 820 white sanitary silicone, 310 ml, at £5.89, and UniBond kitchen and bathroom anti-mould, 280 ml, at £10.99. The Pattex 300 ml cartridge is about £14.07. That is a shop gap, not a test, and it matters on an ordinary white bath bead on glaze. You pay extra for the Pattex name and for 1,157 ratings, while accepting missing nozzles and yellowing. Buy the 300 ml cartridge if you have checked the nozzle, the colour and the pack count. Buy the 50 ml tube for one short run and no gun. Buy a coating only for a stuck bead. Buy the shed cartridge when you want the lower trade price. None of those choices is a UK-wide winner.

Common questions

Which Pattex pack is for a full bath reseal?
The 300 ml white anti-mould cartridge, at about £14.07. It names sinks, baths and shower cubicles. You still need a gun, a nozzle that arrived intact, and a surface the cure is allowed on. The 50 ml tube is the wrong volume for a whole bathroom of new joints.
When is the 50 ml tube enough?
When the job is one tap, a short shower leak or a touch-up, and you have no cartridge gun. Model 2721071 is 50 ml, transparent, about £9.55, 4.4 from 141 ratings. Reviewers find it hard to press into one continuous bead.
When is a coating the wrong best?
When the old bead is loose, split or leaking, or when the gap is empty. Re-New and Neue Fuge are coats on silicone that is still there. A soft coat that lifts in water does not replace a cut-out.
Does at least 5 years on the amazon page mean the bead never goes black?
No. A 21 October 2026 look showed a line about seals for at least 5 years. The 19 October technical details did not carry a water-resistance level or that line. Reviewers still describe yellowing and beads replaced after about a year or two.
Should you skip Pattex for a plastic bath?
Skip acetoxy sanitary paste on a plastic bath or a plastic shower tray. The pressure-pack sheet, which is not this 300 ml listing, excludes those surfaces, natural stone, paint and permanent immersion. The 300 ml listing does not state that it is safe on acrylic.
