Parquet adhesive underfloor heating

Updated: 23 October 2026

You have a heated screed in a UK house and you need a parquet adhesive underfloor heating line you can trust before the boards go down. A listing that names heating is the filter, and a silent page is not a yes. This page takes that filter, then the in-use temperature against the laying-day cap, then the hygrometer with the heat off. Shelf prices stay on the [parquet adhesive comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/parquet-adhesive). Prices are amazon.co.uk figures from 19 October 2026. The Products Compared editorial team compared those listings and the public sheets named here, without a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Which listings name underfloor heating

Three of the six amazon.co.uk listings name underfloor heating. Sika SikaBond MS, 600 ml at £12.11, lists wood flooring, skirtings and underfloor heating. The Bona R848T tub titled 15 kg, at £172.88, says it is suitable for underfloor heating. Bona Titan, the 15 kg pail at £231.34, is suitable after the heating-up protocol on Bona’s sheet. The £12.11 cartridge is a gun for a short run: three ratings at 4.6 record wood tiles, and the listing publishes no trowel rate. Sika SikaBond 5500S, titled 16 kg at £127.99, does not mention heating. That silence is not clearance, and it is not a ban printed on a sheet. The 1 kg R848T bag at £19.89 omits the 15 kg heating line, though Bona’s sheet includes heating and caps the floor at 20°C during the work. The Bostik 500 g bottle at £15.24 is tongue-and-groove glue, with heating unstated. Leave H160’s timing on that other product.

27°C in use and 25°C on laying day

The Solid Wood Flooring Company note treats 27°C as the ceiling for the screed surface under a wood floor once the system is running. Flow valves and floor sensors hold that figure. The room thermostat only reads the air, so a lounge at 21°C can still push the screed past 27°C if the flow is hot. That 27°C is the in-use limit. Bona’s Titan sheet uses a different number at a different moment: the screed must not exceed 25°C during installation and for three days after, and only after the heating-up protocol. When you use Titan, the floor should be 15–20°C, the air at least 18°C, and relative humidity at most 70%. Bona’s R848T sheet caps the floor at 20°C while you lay. A probe at 23°C on laying morning can sit under 27°C and still sit over Titan’s 25°C cap and R848T’s 20°C cap.

Test the screed with the heating off

If the heating is in the screed, Floorscape’s hygrometer method says you switch it off 96 hours before the test and leave it off. Four days is the interval. Floorscape’s summary of BS 8201, BS 8203 and BS 5325 treats 75% equilibrium relative humidity as the usual pass. Some timber over underfloor heating needs not more than 65% RH. Leave those as hygrometer figures, and do not convert them into carbide-bomb percentages. A pin meter in an offcut checks the wood, and the screed around the pipes stays unmeasured. If you cannot record a hygrometer result, or the heating has never been commissioned, call a fitter before you open a tub. The Solid Wood Flooring Company note describes commissioning as a heat-up and cool-down of about 21 days. A dry reading still leaves the adhesive short of a damp-proof membrane.

What the bed does to vapour

Bona’s Titan sheet says the bed slows vapour and is not a structural damp-proof membrane. The £231.34 pail is not tanking for a wet slab or a missing membrane. On the 15 kg R848T listing the title says waterproof and the field says water resistant. Those are different claims, and neither is a structural membrane. Bona’s sheet describes a silane-modified prepolymer, so the amazon.co.uk material line that says silicone is the one to set aside. Stop if the base is anhydrite with laitance still on it, or if you suspect there is no structural damp-proof membrane. For Titan, keep the screed at or below 25°C for three days after the work. After that window, the separate 27°C surface limit still applies.

Common questions

Which of these adhesives name underfloor heating?
Sika SikaBond MS at £12.11, Bona R848T 15 kg at £172.88, and Bona Titan at £231.34 name heating. The 16 kg SikaBond 5500S, the 1 kg R848T bag and the Bostik 500 g bottle do not. A silent listing is not a yes.
Is 27°C the same limit as 25°C?
They apply at different moments. The Solid Wood Flooring Company note caps the screed surface at 27°C in use. Bona Titan’s sheet caps the screed at 25°C during installation and for three days after. Bona R848T’s sheet caps the floor at 20°C while you lay.
When do I switch the heating off for a moisture test?
Switch screed heating off 96 hours before a hygrometer test and leave it off. Floorscape’s summary uses 75% equilibrium relative humidity as the usual pass, and not more than 65% RH for some timber over heating. A pin meter checks the board, not the screed.
Can parquet adhesive replace a damp-proof membrane?
Bona’s Titan sheet says the bed slows vapour and is not a structural damp-proof membrane. Waterproof and water resistant on the 15 kg R848T listing do not supply that membrane. Call a fitter if you cannot show a dry reading.
Does the 16 kg SikaBond 5500S say it suits heating?
No. The listing, titled 16 kg at £127.99 on 19 October 2026, does not mention underfloor heating, and it leaves the chemistry unstated. That is not a printed ban. Use a product whose listing or sheet names heating.
When can the heating go back on?
Bona Titan’s sheet keeps the screed at or below 25°C during installation and for three days after. In service the surface stays at or below 27°C. R848T stays at or below 20°C while you lay. Call a fitter if the system was never commissioned.
