What 7 mm sticks are for

Seven millimetres is the mini size, usually 100 mm long, for card, small repairs and craft. The mini packs are ANSIO, G4GADGET, Aspect, BEEWAY, JelKen, Amazon Basics, WORKPRO’s 200-pack, Liyerfer and ADHES. Amazon Basics prints 4 in × 0.27 in, about 7 mm × 102 mm. ADHES hi-temp mini means a hot mini gun, not an 11 mm gun. Novus says not to mix diameters, because the wrong stick damages the tool. A 100 mm stick running out is a length problem, not a reason to change diameter.

What 11 mm sticks are for

Eleven millimetres feeds more glue per pull, for carpet edge, a longer wood joint or a florist stem. Novus points 11 mm sticks at guns from the K-211 upwards. Only three captured packs are this size. WORKPRO is 100 sticks at 11 mm × 100 mm for £9.99, and 100 sticks at 11 mm × 200 mm for £18.99. SHALL is 70 sticks at 11 mm × 200 mm for £16.99, with 4.8 from 3,399 reviews on that listing. None will enter a 7 mm gun. If the barrel says 11 mm, ignore ANSIO at £3.95. One shared WORKPRO review describes a tight fit in an 11 mm Bosch gun. SHALL’s longer stick means fewer reloads.

What goes wrong if the diameters do not match

An 11 mm stick will not enter a 7 mm inlet, and forcing it marks the gun. A 7 mm stick in an 11 mm gun can sit loose and let melt push backwards. Glue Guns Direct warns about melt-back under about 11.3 mm in a larger gun. ANSIO reviews include sticks that were too narrow for a small gun. One G4GADGET note describes 100 mm sticks loaded into an 11 mm gun. Do not add a spacer or tape. If the diameters differ, change the pack.

11 mm and 12 mm are not automatic twins

Some UK guns are marked 12 mm. Bostik’s DIY sheet is a 12 mm stick for a gun at about 175–200°C. Dremel’s UK manual puts the 940 on 11/12 mm and the 910 and 930 on 7 mm, at 230 V. Glue Guns Direct describes a European 12 mm stick as about 11.3–11.7 mm. An 11 mm WORKPRO or SHALL stick may be close only if the manual groups that band. A 7 mm stick is not nearly 12 mm. Rapid’s 12 mm textile pack is not one of these ASINs. If the gun says 12 mm, check the maker before you treat SHALL as a match.

After diameter, choose 100 mm or 200 mm

A 200 mm stick is the same width as a 100 mm stick of that size. On an 11 mm gun, SHALL and WORKPRO at 200 mm mean fewer stops than WORKPRO’s 11 mm × 100 mm pack. Every mini stick in this table is about 100 mm, or 102 mm for Amazon Basics. You cannot buy a 200 mm mini stick here. WORKPRO’s 200 mini sticks at £7.99 still will not run an 11 mm gun. Compare length only inside one diameter.

Common questions

Will 11 mm sticks fit a mini gun?
No. SHALL and both 11 mm WORKPRO packs are full-size sticks. They will not enter a 7 mm mini gun. Forcing the inlet damages the gun and does not make a bead. If your gun is mini, use a 7 mm pack such as ANSIO, JelKen or the WORKPRO 200-pack.
Can I use 7 mm sticks in a full-size gun?
You should not. A thin stick can fail to advance and can let melt push out of the back. Glue Guns Direct flags melt-back under about 11.3 mm. ANSIO reviewers have already called some 7 mm sticks too narrow. Do not use a spacer to adapt them.
Is 12 mm close enough to 11 mm?
Only if the gun maker groups 11 mm and 12 mm together, as Dremel does on the 940. Bostik’s DIY stick is 12 mm. Glue Guns Direct puts a European 12 mm stick near 11.3–11.7 mm. Check the manual. Do not treat 7 mm as close to 12 mm.
Does a longer stick change the diameter?
No. WORKPRO’s 11 mm × 200 mm stick is still 11 mm, and ANSIO’s 7 mm × 100 mm stick is still 7 mm. Length changes how often you reload. It does not let a mini stick run a full-size gun, or the reverse.
