How 2K cartridges differ

A two-component cartridge holds two materials that must leave in a fixed proportion. A single-barrel gun pushes one plug, so the mix collapses and the product will not cure as the sheet describes. The ratio is printed on the cartridge. A 1:1 pack needs equal plungers. A 2:1 or 10:1 pack needs a gun listed for that ratio. The amazon.co.uk 2K row in this set does not print a ratio. Without a static mixer the two streams never blend. The main comparison's top pick, a 16:1 single gun at £10.59, is the wrong tool once the cartridge is twin. Single tubes are on the buying guide. Choosing a dual manual gun

Injection mortar is stiffer than bathroom silicone, so trade dual guns often quote 18:1 or 25:1. Adhesive Dispensing's ADCMB-310CPX is a UK example for 310 ml 1:1 cartridges, with thrust in that shop's specification. It is not one of the five rows we scored. On amazon.co.uk the only row that claims the class is LEWFECBO, model AHD414, at £26.99, for composite mortar, grout and injection mortar. There is no thrust number, no 1:1 line, no reviews and no mixers in the box. That price is the bottom of a specialist band. If the listing never names your ratio, do not buy it hoping it will fit.

Static mixers and waste

A static mixer is a disposable nozzle with a spiral that blends the two streams. Once you pause, the mix inside cures and you fit another. The LEWFECBO capture does not list mixers, so buy the right thread and length first. Waste the first slug onto cardboard until the colour is even. Follow the cartridge sheet. We will not invent a length. Streaks mean the mixer is too short, and streaks in an anchor hole are a reason to stop. Many 2K packs are single-session once opened. Gloves follow the safety data sheet. At work, COSHH applies. Solvent guidance is the wrong sheet if the product is solvent-free epoxy.

LEWFECBO is the specialist row and nothing else in the five is a substitute. The score is 34 out of 100, with no reviews. The OTT gun scores higher because it states 16:1 for ordinary sealant. That does not make it a 2K tool. YATO and GOTOTOP are single-plunger layouts. Use LEWFECBO only when the cartridge is a 310 ml twin the nose can hold, you have mixers, and the job does not require a trained applicator. Injection damp-proofing, structural anchoring and any pumped mix are where a professional takes over. A £26.99 listing is not a structural approval. Best value in the main table is the £10.59 single gun, for a different cartridge.

Common questions

Can I use a normal caulking gun for 2K epoxy?
No. A normal gun has one plunger and is built for a single 310 ml silicone or adhesive tube. A 2K cartridge needs both sides advanced together at the ratio on the pack. One plunger either stalls or drives the two components out of proportion, and the joint will not cure as the sheet describes. Use a dual gun, then a static mixer. The silicone top pick in our comparison is the wrong class here.
What does a 1:1 ratio mean on the cartridge?
It means the two sides should be dispensed in equal parts by the volume the gun is built to move. The plungers advance together and the chambers are the same size. A 2:1 or 10:1 cartridge needs a different plunger setup. The LEWFECBO page does not print a ratio, so you cannot confirm 1:1 from that listing. Match the number on your cartridge to a gun that states the same number.
Is the LEWFECBO gun enough for anchor grout?
It is the only dual 310 ml listing in this comparison, described for composite mortar, grout and injection mortar, at £26.99, with no thrust figure and no reviews. That is enough to say it is the right class of tool if the cartridge fits and you supply mixers. It is not enough to say a structural anchor will hold. If the grout maker wants a specified gun, a trained installer or a proof test, this page does not replace that instruction.
Do mixers come included?
Not in the LEWFECBO capture. The listing does not put static mixers in the box. Treat them as a consumable you buy in the right thread, length and ratio family, and keep spares. One nozzle is rarely enough once a bead is interrupted. A trade dual gun may include a starter mixer. Read that box line separately. Do not assume the £26.99 price contains them.
When should a professional take over?
When the work is a structural resin anchor, an injected damp-proof course, a fire-stopping system, or any cartridge whose maker specifies a trained person, a pump or a checked mix ratio. Also hand it over if you cannot name the ratio on the pack or you cannot buy a mixer that fits. A tiled grout detail you understand is a different scale from a stud you need to prove.
