Best fence slats

Updated: October 2026

You want one listing to keep and a clear reason to leave the others, and the amazon.co.uk prices all sit between about £24.99 and about £44.99. Best fence slats, in this set, is not one winner. Three of the five listings are the same rough-sawn pine in three lengths, and two are bamboo rolls that only cover a fence you already have. The [fence slats comparison](/hub/fencing-and-wire/fence-slats) holds the shelf prices, the star rows and the size lines. Peter F. used those listings and the stored UK review notes. There is no lab test, and a 5.0 on five ratings is not a strength trial.

Two jobs, not one ranking

A board builds a face you nail to your own rails. A roll hides a panel, a wire fence or a frame that already stands. If you rank the five by price, Wadan at about £24.99 looks first and the 120 cm pine at about £44.99 looks last. If you rank them by stars, every pine pack shows 5.0 and both rolls sit lower. Neither sort is the job. If the fence does not exist yet, neither roll is the structure. Each WoodworxPro length shows 5.0 from five amazon.co.uk ratings, and the saved listing for each length holds the same two UK texts. Overlap maths stays on the fence slats buying guide.

Short pine packs

Buy the 60 cm pack, B0H4BKK77R, at about £25.99 when the piece you measured is about 60 cm and you will treat the timber yourself. The section is 19 mm by 100 mm rough-sawn pine, five boards. The listing does not say pressure treated and does not give a use class. A note that the boards arrived sized as advertised is not evidence of a winter on a boundary. Move to the 90 cm pack, B0H4BRK8WQ, at about £29.99 only when 90 cm is the length. Move to the 120 cm pack, B0H4BS43D3, at about £44.99 only when 120 cm is the length. That pack is still shorter than the 1.5 m to 1.8 m feather edge a merchant sells for a normal bay. Skip all three when you are building that bay.

The two rolls

Wadan, B0CBGL3Q66, is about £24.99 and the title says 1.5 m by 4 m. That lowest shelf price is why it is the best value on price alone, and the technical details also print 100 × 100 × 300 cm. Measure the roll flat before you tie it. Across the 22 texts, people praise the price and also say you can see through the gaps, that canes slip, and that some pieces arrive snapped. Several seasons is the seller’s line, not a counted year. Abaseen, B088Q3QN89, is about £29.99, and the item dimensions say 150 cm by 400 cm with 6 m². That agreement is why it is the top pick when a sound fence is already there. Reviewers staple the wires to timber or cable-tie the roll to mesh. Gaps are wider than the photograph, and texts add split slats, slack wire, a bow after wind, and a short length, including about 360 cm against a 4 m claim. The included-components line says bamboo slat, not ties or nails.

Who should buy elsewhere

Leave all five if you are building a close-boarded boundary at about 1.8 m. You want merchant feather edge with a stated use class, UC4 posts, rails, a gravel board and nails. Five boards at 120 cm are not that bay, and a roll tied to nothing is not that bay either. Leave the rolls if you need a screen a dog cannot push through. Reviewers used bamboo as a visual cover for poultry and as a weak puppy screen. Leave the pine if you will not treat it and you still expect outdoor to mean a preservative. Common questions

Why is the pine rated 5.0 if there are only a handful of reviews?
Each pine listing shows 5.0 from five ratings. The saved listing holds two UK texts, copied onto the other lengths. J Smith, on 28 August 2026, says the boards arrived flat, wrapped in cardboard, and sized as advertised. Diane, on 18 July 2026, says they were worth the money and arrived a week early. Those sentences do not name a length or describe weathering. A perfect star row on five ratings is a thin sample, not a test of outdoor life.
Is the cheaper roll the better roll?
Wadan is about £24.99 against Abaseen at about £29.99, and Wadan’s star row is 4.2 from 68 against 4.0 from 427. The lower price comes with technical details that say 100 × 100 × 300 cm while the title says 1.5 m by 4 m. Both review files describe gaps. Cheaper is a smaller bill if the roll you unpack is long enough and you accept a see-through screen. It is not a tighter screen.
Does a higher star rating mean a tighter screen?
No. The pine 5.0 is two copied texts about boards that arrived flat. The bamboo scores are lower because people wrote about gaps, splits and wire. Wadan’s 4.2 is not a closer weave than Abaseen’s 4.0. Both review sets say you can see through one layer, whatever the photograph shows. Stars describe the listing people left a rating on. They do not measure the slit between canes.
Are these rolls the dear end of screening?
No. A specialist 2 m by 3 m slat screen at a UK bamboo shop can sit near £60 before VAT. That only shows these two amazon.co.uk rolls are the cheap end of screening. It does not mean they close every gap. If you need a printed cane diameter and a stated weight, leave this set.
Are the three pine packs different products?
They are three stated lengths, 60 cm, 90 cm and 120 cm, at three prices, with the same part number 19100, the same hero image and a printed weight of 2.5 kg. That weight line is copied, so do not treat it as a checked weight that grew with the board. Treat the length on the title as the difference you are paying for. Do not treat the repeated 5.0 or the shared photograph as three separate trials.
