Fingerprint door opener buying guide for UK doors

Updated: 16 October 2026

You have a door in front of you and a fingerprint advert in the other hand. The decision is which lock body that door will take. A fingerprint door opener buying guide has to settle that before any model is ranked. The eight amazon.co.uk listings kept here, priced on 15 October 2026 from £31.99 to £279.99, are battery levers, one mains bolt kit, or Simpled’s lock. None is a euro-profile cylinder. This page does not pick a winner. The table lives on the [fingerprint door opener comparison](/hub/electronic-surveillance/fingerprint-door-opener). Products Compared read the listings, not a laboratory.

Three lock bodies, and the one this set does not sell

A UK shopper meets three objects in this set, and a fourth the set does not sell. A lever replaces the handles and the latch. Yocdunm, TEKXDD, both DHEISHA listings, LXLRHH and Swokely are that object, on thickness bands between 30–55 mm and 35–60 mm. AccessShield’s F20 is an electric bolt with a panel, a mains power supply, an exit switch and ten fobs. Simpled’s DWF-SP is a double-sided lock: the outside panel is weatherproof and the inside must stay dry. The missing object is a euro cylinder, measured as two sides from the centre screw, so a 35/45 is two numbers. A smart cylinder still does not lift the handle. If your door locks by lifting the handle, read the fingerprint door opener for a uPVC front door before you compare levers.

Thickness, a second way in, and batteries

Measure the door before you compare stars. Yocdunm states 35–50 mm and a latch of 60–70 mm. TEKXDD states 35–55 mm and gives no bore and no backset. LXLRHH states 40–55 mm and a 54 mm hole. Both DHEISHA listings state timber of 30–55 mm. Swokely states 35–60 mm. AccessShield and Simpled print no millimetre band. A 35 mm door sits outside LXLRHH’s 40 mm minimum, so confirm the leaf with a ruler. Four AAA cells, or Swokely’s printed 4 x 2A, are required and are not in the box. The drill decision is on the how to fit a fingerprint door opener page.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and the UK security rules

An app in the bullets is not a Wi-Fi radio. The black DHEISHA states Bluetooth on the protocol line. Swokely, AccessShield and Simpled’s protocol line state Wi-Fi. TEKXDD and LXLRHH name Tuya and have no protocol line. Yocdunm’s network line says wireless and names no app. A code sent from another city needs a protocol line that says Wi-Fi. From 29 April 2024 a connectable product needs a unique or user-set password, a vulnerability contact, an update period and a statement of compliance. A Wi-Fi lock should be treated as in scope. A Bluetooth-only latch may sit outside. None of these files prints a statement of compliance. A bedroom radio choice sits on the fingerprint door opener for a bedroom page.

What the prices in this set are buying

The shelf price buys a body, a radio and a review sample, and they do not move together. Yocdunm is £31.99 with nine ratings and no app. TEKXDD is £39.99 with 1,011 ratings and no protocol line. Swokely is £72.99 with Wi-Fi and 12 ratings. Simpled is £279.99 with no review line and no millimetre band.

When this buying guide ends

Leave the table for a multipoint uPVC or composite gearbox, a cylinder that would sit proud of the handle, or a mains spur for AccessShield’s supply. A jammed latch with someone inside, and a fire door if a new hole would count as damage, are a locksmith’s job. A household bedroom can still suit a lever if you keep a key or a code. The figures are the amazon.co.uk listing lines from 15 October 2026. Insurance acceptance, TS 007, BS 3621, Sold Secure and an IP rating are not claimed.

Common questions

Is a fingerprint door handle the same thing as a fingerprint lock for a uPVC front door?
No. The levers in this set replace handles and a latch on a thickness band such as 35–55 mm. A UK multipoint uPVC or composite door locks through a euro cylinder and a gearbox, and you often lift the handle to throw the hooks. None of the eight listings prints a cylinder size. A low price does not turn a bedroom lever into that cylinder.
What should you measure before you compare models?
Measure the door thickness, the distance from the door edge to the centre of the handle, the hole the door already has, and which way the latch bevel faces. Then read the band the listing prints. Yocdunm allows 35–50 mm. LXLRHH starts at 40 mm and also states a 54 mm hole. AccessShield and Simpled print no millimetre band, so thickness is not stated until you have another source.
Does an app on the listing mean you can send a code from another city?
Only if the protocol line says Wi-Fi, and even then you should read the reviews. Swokely, AccessShield and Simpled’s protocol line say Wi-Fi. TEKXDD names Tuya and has no protocol line, and one review says it has no Wi-Fi. Yocdunm names no app. A temporary code that fails on the first try, as one Swokely review reports, is a limit on the feature.
Do these locks include batteries, and what happens when they go flat?
The lever boxes do not include the cells. Most require four AAA batteries. Swokely prints 4 x 2A, which should be bought as printed. USB or USB-C is described as emergency power, and several listings say it does not charge the pack. Keep the mechanical key reachable before you shut the door. A flat battery on its own is not automatically a fault.
Does a Bluetooth lever have to meet the UK product-security rules?
A Wi-Fi lock should be treated as in scope of the rules in force from 29 April 2024. A Bluetooth-only product may fall outside, unless it meets the OPSS two-part test for connecting to other products and to an internet-connectable device. None of these files prints a statement of compliance, so this guide does not mark any ASIN as passed or failed.
