Bseed Wi-Fi vs touch switch: trust that title NOTE

Updated: October 2026

You want the hall light on a phone, or you only want a glass plate that looks modern, and both are sold as a Bseed touch switch. They are not the same product. A NOTE that says no Wi-Fi is a manual plate even when the spec table underneath says Wi-Fi. This page on a Bseed Wi-Fi vs touch switch uses six of the amazon.co.uk listings in the [Bseed light switch comparison](/hub/electrical-equipment/bseed-light-switch). Mechanical rockers stay on that table. Prices are the captured shelf figures, not a lab test. Buy a Wi-Fi plate only when the title says Wi-Fi or Smart Life and you actually want Alexa or a schedule. If you want a glass button and no account, buy a plate whose NOTE says no Wi-Fi, and ignore the spec table. Neutral, as a conductor question, is on [Bseed light switch no neutral](/hub/electrical-equipment/bseed-light-switch/sub/bseed-light-switch-no-neutral).

Two products under one brand name

Bseed uses one glass look for a radio and for a finger. The non-smart touch plates are B0872YTQ9M, B08B6526N2 and B08GLYQDD7. Each title says no neutral. Each NOTE says no Wi-Fi, not Alexa, and not a dimmer. The spec table on the same pages still says Wi-Fi. The NOTE is the line that says this one is not smart. The Wi-Fi plates are the ones whose titles say Wi-Fi or Smart Life. B07VRWFSZY at £16.90 says a neutral is required. B09B9NRM1W at £18.90 says no neutral. B08Z3S57N2 at £32.90 is two 2 gang plates and says a neutral is required. If the title does not say Wi-Fi or Smart Life, do not rescue it with a spec-table cell. The other filters are on the buying guide.

When the Wi-Fi plate is the one you want

Choose Wi-Fi when you want the light to follow a schedule or a voice, and you will keep a 2.4 GHz network for setup. Smart Life, or Tuya, comes first. Alexa and Google come after the device is in that app. 5 GHz will not do the first pairing. If the switch box has a neutral, B07VRWFSZY is the 1 gang option at £16.90, 4.0 from 1,649 reviews, 3.5 cm deep. If the box has no neutral, only B09B9NRM1W states that in the title, at £18.90, 4.0 from 153, with a 4 cm body. Reviews describe a capacitor at the lamp and flicker. A concrete miss is ordering B0872YTQ9M at £10.99 because the spec table says Wi-Fi, then finding the NOTE that says Alexa is not supported.

When the plain touch plate is enough

Choose the NOTE plate when you want a glass button, a backlight, and no account. B08B6526N2 at £13.99 has the largest touch sample here, 4.0 from 608 reviews. The module is 3.5 cm. Touch can miss a press. One buyer said it did not work once the glass was fitted. Those limits are real, and they are still a manual switch. You cannot repair a missed press by opening Smart Life. The NOTE’s LED load on the black 2 gang is about 3 to 100 W per gang, and the plate is not a dimmer. The white 2 gang table’s IP65 cell is not a shower-zone rating.

The condition, and the touch that dies

Two-way splits these plates again. A touch two-way pairs with more touch plates rather than with a mechanical switch. The black 2 gang NOTE says the plate cannot be used as 2 way at all. The NOTE touch plates and B09B9NRM1W say no neutral. B07VRWFSZY and the two-pack do not. A no-neutral touch plate will not grow a radio later, and a neutral-required Wi-Fi plate will not run on switched live alone. On B07VRWFSZY, more than one review says the touch died after about six months while the app still switched the light. If you want Alexa and the title says Wi-Fi, buy that title and match its neutral line. If you do not want an account, buy a NOTE plate and treat every Wi-Fi cell on the spec table as a mistake.

Common questions

Is a Bseed touch switch an Alexa switch?
Only when the title says Wi-Fi or Smart Life. The touch plates B0872YTQ9M, B08B6526N2 and B08GLYQDD7 say in the NOTE that they are not Alexa and have no Wi-Fi.
Which listings in this set are actually Wi-Fi?
B07VRWFSZY at £16.90, which needs a neutral, B09B9NRM1W at £18.90, whose title says no neutral, and B08Z3S57N2 at £32.90 for two plates that need a neutral. All three name Smart Life.
Do I need a hub?
These listings do not name a separate hub. You join the Wi-Fi plate to Smart Life on 2.4 GHz, then connect Alexa or Google in that app.
Will 5 GHz Wi-Fi work?
Not for setup. The Wi-Fi titles and Bseed’s FAQ say 2.4 GHz.
Does the touch plate dim?
No. The NOTES on B0872YTQ9M, B08B6526N2 and B08GLYQDD7 say the plate is not a dimmer.
Can one touch plate replace one end of an old two-way pair?
Not if the other end stays a mechanical rocker. Bseed’s guidance pairs a touch two-way with another touch plate, and pairs Wi-Fi two-way in the app between Bseed Wi-Fi units.
Does any of this work with Apple HomeKit?
Bseed’s FAQ says no. The path that does exist is Smart Life on 2.4 GHz, then Alexa or Google, on a title that actually says Wi-Fi.
