Best right angle drill

Updated: 2026-10-23

You want one right angle drill from amazon.co.uk, and a best-seller list will not give it to you. The best right angle drill in this shortlist depends on the battery you already own, not on a single star rating. On 21 October 2026 the kept listings were the XIIW kit at £47.99, the Einhell TE-AD 18 Li bare body at £49.99, the Milwaukee 2415-20 at £85.50 and the Milwaukee C12 RAD-0 at £99.99. Prices and what is in the carton are on our [right angle drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/right-angle-drill). We did not run a lab test. What this shortlist is

Amazon's drills best-seller page, when it was checked, mixed ordinary combi drills with a cheap right-angle adaptor. This page stays inside four amazon.co.uk listings that have their own motor. Attachments are not on it. There is no claim of a best tool in the whole UK, and there is no laboratory winner. The split is the battery. If the box must contain a pack, only the XIIW title says so. If you already own Einhell Power X-Change, the Einhell body is the match. If you already own M12, you are choosing between the 2415-20 and the C12 RAD-0. How to read a dirty specification cell is the right angle drill buying guide.

If you own no packs

The XIIW KBD03 at £47.99 is the only kept listing whose title names a 12 V 2.0 Ah battery. It states 18 Nm, two speeds, 880 rpm and a 10 mm keyless chuck, at 1.09 kg. The included-components line only says the drill. Written reviews describe eaves, drawer slides, cabinets and dashboards, and they say the pack is not a Milwaukee or DeWalt pack. Amazon shows 3.8 from 28 ratings. The written reviews are from the United States and Germany, with no United Kingdom review in the block. The chuck has no separate lock. More than one buyer said the supplied bits failed, and one said five bits arrived rather than 13. That is why this kit is the pick only when you have no platform and the job is occasional.

If you own Power X-Change

The Einhell TE-AD 18 Li, model 4514290, is £49.99 without a battery. It states 45 Nm, one speed up to 1,100 rpm and a 10 mm chuck. That is the highest stated torque in this set, and the only 18 V body. UK reviewers describe airing-cupboard shelves, a battery that swivels, an LED that stays on, and work between joists. If you do not already own a Power X-Change pack, £49.99 is not a finished kit. Amazon states 10 mm in wood and 10 mm in metal. Screwfix lists 35 mm in wood and 10 mm in steel for the same TE-AD. Quote the amazon cell as the listing capacity. There is no clutch count on the amazon file, and one reviewer wished for a brushless impact driver. The listing claims neither.

If you own M12

Both Milwaukee listings are bare 12 V bodies. The 2415-20 at £85.50 lists 100 in-lb, about 11.3 Nm, 800 rpm, a 3/8-inch ratcheting chuck, and 11 clutch settings plus drill mode. The 11 is the clutch, not eleven gearbox speeds. Wood is listed at 25 mm and metal at 9.5 mm, at 1.01 kg. The box is the unit and an instruction guide. Choose it when you own M12 and you are driving screws that need the clutch. The C12 RAD-0 at £99.99 prints 12 Nm, 800 rpm, 22 mm in wood and 10 mm in metal. The amazon chuck cell of 30 mm and the weight cell of 100 g are not usable. Screwfix states a 10 mm keyless chuck for the same model. Buy the 2415-20 when the clutch printed on the amazon bullets is the reason you are here. Neither is a hammer drill.

Common questions

Which tool if I own no batteries?
The XIIW at £47.99 is the only kept listing that names a battery in the title. It suits one awkward job when you have no packs. The written reviews are not from the UK, and a spare pack was not on sale when two buyers looked. The Einhell and both Milwaukee tools are bare, so add a pack only on the platform the listing names.
Which tool if I own Einhell Power X-Change?
The TE-AD 18 Li at £49.99 is the match. You still need a charger if you do not already have one. Read 45 Nm as the stated torque, and read 10 mm wood and 10 mm metal as the amazon capacity, even though Screwfix prints 35 mm in wood. The Milwaukee tools will not take these packs.
Which Milwaukee if I own M12 and want a clutch?
The 2415-20 at £85.50 prints 11 clutch settings plus drill mode, with a 3/8-inch ratcheting chuck and about 11.3 Nm. That is the clutch pick in this pair. The C12 RAD-0 at £99.99 is the other bare M12 body, but its amazon specification block includes cells you should not use.
Why is the higher star rating not automatically the pick?
The 2415-20's 4.7 from 1,643 ratings is the highest count here, and only three of the first 50 written reviews are from the United Kingdom. The Einhell's 4.6 from 464 comes with 22 of the first 50 from the UK, and with 45 Nm, but only if you own Power X-Change. Stars do not put a charger in the box.
Is the XIIW a false economy because of the spare battery?
It can be, if you expect to replace the pack. Reviews say that pack does not fit Milwaukee or DeWalt, and two buyers could not find a spare. For a single cupboard, that may never matter. For a fitter who flattens a pack every week, a bare body on a platform you can still buy is the safer spend.
