Cordless combi drill buying guide

Updated: 22 October 2026

You are about to buy one drill for screws, a flat-pack wardrobe and the odd wall plug, and the amazon.co.uk titles are already mixing three different tools. Start with a stated hammer, a battery and charger in the box, and a chuck you can use, then the platform you can buy again. The voltage sticker and the largest newton-metre cell come after that. The [cordless combi drill comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/cordless-combi-drill) holds the ten kits, from about £29.99 to £110.00 on 22 October 2026. This is not a lab test. Hammer, kit, chuck

The first check is hammer in the bullets or the manual, not only combi in the title. On these ten listings the hammer is stated, except the EasyImpact 18V-38, where the name says impact and the bullets do not say masonry. Every kept row includes a battery. The BCD700 title names a 1.5 Ah pack and a kitbox, and the included-components line does not name a charger. You want 10 mm or 13 mm, two speeds, and a clutch separate from drill and hammer. A 10 mm chuck is on the LEEIKOO, the JYGMPRO, the VOERJIA and the EasyImpact 18V-38. A 13 mm chuck is on the EasyImpact 18V-40, the Ryobi, the Einhell, the BCD700 and both DCA rows. A 13 mm jaw is still not an SDS chuck. The collar is on the how to use a combi drill page.

Platform before the voltage sticker

A 20 V or 21 V label is not a bigger system than 18 V, and it is not a harder hammer. BLACK+DECKER's 20V MAX copy says the no-load peak is 20 V and the nominal voltage is 18 V. The LEEIKOO, the JYGMPRO and the VOERJIA print 21 V. Those packs do not click into Ryobi ONE+, Bosch POWER FOR ALL or Einhell Power X-Change. Stay on the packs you already own. Brushless is printed only on the VOERJIA and both DCA rows. Do not infer it for the Ryobi.

What to ignore on the listing

The BCD700 prints 1 inch pound in both torque cells, so it cannot be ranked on torque. The cheaper DCA prints 55 Nm and, in a second cell, 55 newton millimetres. Keep the newton-metre line. The Einhell speed cell says 24,000 rpm beside 40 Nm, and the metal cell copies the 40 mm wood figure. The VOERJIA speeds cell says 20, which matches the clutch positions, not the two speed ranges in the bullets. A 4.8 from 37 reviews, on the DCA 120 Nm row, is weaker evidence than a 4.7 from 7,197 on the Ryobi.

What you pay, and when to stop

On 22 October 2026 the shelf prices run from the LEEIKOO at about £29.99 and the JYGMPRO at about £42.99, through the EasyImpact 18V-40 at about £64.97, to the Ryobi at about £97.80 and the Einhell at about £110.00. This page does not crown a winner. A combi is for screws and a few plugs in soft brick. Bosch DIY says it is not the tool for concrete. If the bit stops advancing, stop. For employers, the vibration action value is 2.5 m/s² A(8) and the limit is 5 m/s² A(8).

Common questions

What should I check before the price?
Check a stated hammer, then a battery and charger in the box, then a 10 mm or 13 mm chuck with two speeds and a clutch, then whether the packs match a system you already own. Price is the last sort, and only among rows that survived those checks. A higher shelf price does not repair a torque cell in inch-pounds or a missing hammer line.
Is 21 V better than 18 V?
No. In this set, 21 V is the label on the LEEIKOO, the JYGMPRO and the VOERJIA. It is not a larger platform than Ryobi ONE+, Bosch 18 V or Einhell Power X-Change, and it is not evidence of a harder hammer.
Do I need brushless?
Only if the listing says brushless and you have a reason to want that motor. Here that claim is printed on the VOERJIA and both DCA rows. It is not printed on the Ryobi R18PD3. Do not upgrade a silent listing because another model from the same brand is brushless.
Is 10 mm enough for wall plugs?
A 10 mm chuck is enough for ordinary plug bits and driver bits. It is what you get on the cheaper 21 V kits and on the EasyImpact 18V-38. A 13 mm chuck takes a larger shank. Neither size turns the tool into an SDS, and neither size is a promise about engineering brick. The plug diameter still has to match the bit.
What if the torque is in inch-pounds?
Leave that kit out of any torque ranking. The BCD700's torque cells say 1 inch pound, which is not a newton-metre figure you can compare with 40 Nm or 50 Nm. You can still read the hammer line, the chuck and the kit. You cannot say it is stronger or weaker on a number the page did not print in Nm.
Does the box include a charger with a UK plug?
Most bullets name a charger and do not name the plug. Two UK reviews of Einhell B0987W5VK6 say that charger arrived with a European two-pin plug and no adaptor. Do not treat that as every Einhell carton. If the included-components line never names a charger, as on the BCD700, confirm the carton before you rely on it.
I already own ONE+ or Power X-Change. Should I change brand?
Stay on the packs you own unless the new kit is a deliberate second system. A £30 closed 21 V drill does not run your existing ONE+ or Power X-Change batteries, so the saving disappears at the second tool. Match the platform first, then compare chuck, hammer wording and amp-hours inside that system.
