Bosch green or professional rotary hammer

Updated: 22 October 2026

You already own a shelf of Bosch 18 V packs, and the next hammer says 18 V as well. A Bosch green or professional rotary hammer is not a shared battery. Power for All packs do not run a blue GBH, and Professional or AMPShare packs do not run a green UniversalHammer. The ten rows, with prices, are on the [Bosch rotary hammer comparison](/hub/drilling-and-accessories/bosch-rotary-hammer). A qualifying Amazon purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. The Products Compared editorial team prepared this on 22 October 2026 from the UK listings, the POWER FOR ALL FAQ and Bosch's DIY pages. There is no lab test. An adapter is not the way these two rails meet.

Two 18 V systems, not one

Both labels say 18 V. The rails are mechanically different. The POWER FOR ALL FAQ says there are no plans to unify the 18 V system with the professional 18 V system. Gardena's UK note says Power for All batteries and Bosch Professional batteries are mechanically coded differently and are therefore not compatible. The charger follows the pack. An AL 18V-20 from a green kit does not become a Professional charger, and a blue charger does not charge a PBA pack. AMPShare, named on the GBH 18V-22 cell, sits with the Professional 18 V system. It is not the Power for All alliance. OneChuck is a bit holder, not a battery system.

What green means in this set

Green in this set is three listings. The PBH 2100 RE at £59.94 is corded, model 06033A9370. It is not a Power for All tool, and it does not take a pack. The UniversalHammer body, model 06039D6000, is £97.92, 2.0 J, SDS-plus, concrete up to 16 mm, in a carton with no battery. Bosch's DIY page names 18 V POWER FOR ALL and recommends at least 2.5 Ah. The kit, at £132.60, is the only green row with a pack: one PBA 18V 2.5 Ah and an AL 18V-20, plus a case. A cell also prints 3000 mAh. If your packs are Power for All, the body is the cheaper hammer. If your packs are blue, neither UniversalHammer will run them.

What blue means in this set

Blue cordless is four bodies and no pack in any scope line: the GBH 18V-18 X at £116.95, part 0611927000 at £122.95, the GBH 18V-22 X at £176.95, and the GBH 18V-22 at £180.99 in an L-BOXX. That last cell names the Bosch Professional 18 V system and AMPShare, and the title names 6 mm to 10 mm holes. A ProCORE or GBA pack is the family those bodies expect. A PBA pack is the family they reject. Chiselling is not in the GBH 18V-22 bullets. Blue corded tools need no pack: the 230 V GBH 2-21 at £120.15, the 110 V titled sister at £134.99, and the GBH 2-28 at £253.21. They do not join your 18 V slide. Lead against battery is on the cordless or corded rotary hammer page.

If you own neither family

Owning neither rail is the expensive moment to start one. A single hammer does not justify a new charger and two packs if a lead will do the job. The corded PBH at £59.94 avoids a platform, with the limit that reviews require SDS-plus bits. The 230 V GBH 2-21 at £120.15 avoids a platform with bits, a case and 2.0 J already printed. The UniversalHammer kit at £132.60 starts Power for All if you want cordless on the day it arrives. A bare GBH body at £116.95 to £180.99 is only the hammer. If you already own one family, stay on that family. The top pick is a separate question, on the best Bosch rotary hammer page. Hole size still sits beside the pack, on the Bosch rotary hammer buying guide.

Common questions

Will my existing green packs run a GBH?
No. Green Power for All packs and blue Professional packs are mechanically coded differently, and the POWER FOR ALL FAQ says the two 18 V systems will not be unified. A GBH 18V-22 cell names Professional 18 V and AMPShare, not Power for All. PBA packs stay with the UniversalHammer.
Will a ProCORE or GBA pack run the UniversalHammer?
No. Those are Professional packs. The kit includes a PBA 18V 2.5 Ah pack, not a GBA or ProCORE pack. The body at £97.92 expects the same green rail and includes no pack of its own.
Which green listing includes the PBA pack and the AL charger?
The UniversalHammer kit at £132.60. The scope lists one PBA 18V 2.5 Ah pack and an AL 18V-20 charger. The battery cell also prints 3000 mAh. The body at £97.92 says without battery. The PBH is corded.
What do I buy if I own no packs yet?
Near a house socket, buy a corded hammer: the PBH at £59.94, or the 230 V GBH 2-21 at £120.15 if you want bits and 2.0 J. For cordless before you own any packs, the UniversalHammer kit is the only row with a pack and a charger. A blue body still needs a Professional pack on top.
Do the corded PBH and GBH avoid this choice?
Yes. The PBH, both GBH 2-21 rows and the GBH 2-28 run from a lead and do not take an 18 V pack. You still match the voltage. The 230 V GBH 2-21 and the PBH's 220 V cell are the house-socket listings. The 110 V title contradicts its own 220 V cell. Green paint does not make the PBH a Power for All tool.
Is AMPShare the same as Power for All?
No. AMPShare is named with the Bosch Professional 18 V system on the GBH 18V-22 listing. Power for All is the green alliance, and its FAQ says it will not merge with the professional system. An AMPShare pack is for the blue GBH bodies, not the UniversalHammer. OneChuck is a bit holder, not a battery rail.
