Best plasma cutter UK inside this set

Updated: October 2026

You want a name, not another checklist, and the phrase you typed was best plasma cutter UK. Inside this amazon.co.uk set the strongest review file is the Reboot CUT60, a touch-start inverter at £132.04, and the clearer value file is the Reboot 45 A pilot-arc inverter at £103.67. Neither is the best plasma cutter in Britain. Trade lists name ESAB, Hypertherm and Lincoln, and a 13 A machine such as R-Tech's P32D is a different class. What best can mean here

Best here means the listing whose UK reviews describe a cut, weighed against price, with a person who should walk away. It is not a measured kerf, and it is not a winner over a Hypertherm. A 5.0 from one or two reviews is not 4.6 from 28. The SPRIGHOLLY CUT50L is 5.0 from two reviews at £67.83, and neither review states a thickness. That is not the value pick. The PLASMARGON PLC65 at £129.99 has no customer-review line, so it is not a contender. Supply, air, the lower thickness figure and start type are the plasma cutter buying guide. This page only applies them.

The strongest review file

The Reboot CUT60, model RBC6000-29UK, is 4.6 from 28 amazon.co.uk reviews and rank 1 in Plasma Cutting Equipment, at £132.04. The title states a 12 mm clean cut and touch-arc ignition. A bullet adds a 16 mm maximum and a 35% duty cycle on that 60 A description. Reviewers report inner sills and steps on a 2005 Transit, including corroded metal and spot welds, 1.2 mm sheet on the lowest settings, holes in 6 mm stainless, several metres of 2 mm stainless, and the tops cut off 200 litre barrels over about seven months of occasional use. That is the fullest workshop file in the set, and it is still a light-duty inverter. One verified review says a 13 A fuse blew. Another buyer moved to a 16 A supply for heavier metal and wanted a larger compressor. The box has no compressor. Air is printed as 30–70 psi. Touch start needs bare metal at the tip and the earth clamp, so painted panel is a poor match unless you clear a patch. That limit is on the pilot arc plasma cutter page. One review states a 60% duty cycle. That figure is the review, not the 35% bullet.

The value file

The Reboot 45 A, model RBC4500LPRO, is £103.67 and 4.5 from five reviews. One of those reviews already puts numbers on mild steel: 6 mm clean, 10 mm smooth, 12 mm near the limit, plus aluminium sheet, and a non-touch start on rusty plate. Five reviews is a thin sample, and one buyer said it was too early to judge, so the 12 mm result is one workshop account. The listing is less tidy than the review. One bullet prints both a 16 mm clean cut and an 8–10 mm clean cut, plus 16 mm severance, and there is no duty-cycle line. Air is a compressor you add, at a minimum of 6 bar (90 PSI). Take the review's 6–12 mm band, not the 16 mm clean line, until more people measure it. The SPRIGHOLLY touch-start CUT60 at £87.35 is cheaper and is not the top pick: 3.3 from nine reviews, including a ceramic that split after about half an hour.

Who should skip the whole set

Skip every ASIN here if the work is a daily shift past the mid-teens of millimetres. These are garage inverters. R-Tech's P32D prints about 8 mm clean on a stated 13 A input. That is a maker printing the socket limit, not a test of these ASINs. Also skip the set if you wanted Stahlwerk. The warranty sits with Norsemen Safety in Belfast, and these boxes do not carry it. A 400 V Stahlwerk CUT 60 does not belong on a domestic socket unless that supply exists. Inside the set, use the CUT60 when bare or corroded sheet matters more than a non-contact start, and the 45 A when rusty plate and a lower price matter more than sample size. The first cut is the how to use a plasma cutter page.

Common questions

Which plasma cutter is best in the UK?
This page cannot answer that. It can say which listing in this amazon.co.uk set has the strongest UK review evidence: the Reboot CUT60, 4.6 from 28 reviews, at £132.04, still a light-duty touch-start inverter. Trade ranges from ESAB, Hypertherm and Lincoln sit outside the comparison. We did not test those machines, and we do not quote a Hypertherm price.
Is the one with 5.0 stars the best?
No. The CUT50L is 5.0 from two reviews, and neither states a thickness. The PLASMARGON CUT55 is 5.0 from one review written before any cut. A larger file that includes complaints, such as 4.6 from 28 with a fuse report, tells you more than an unused five-star line.
Is the cheapest cutter the best value?
The lowest shelf price here is the CUT50L at £67.83. Two reviews and no measured cut do not make it the value pick. The clearer value file is the Reboot 45 A at £103.67, 4.5 from five, with one account of 6–12 mm mild steel. Five reviews is still thin.
Which one has the most reviews?
The Reboot CUT60 has 4.6 from 28 amazon.co.uk reviews, and that file describes workshop cuts in the most detail. The SUSEMSE LT55 has a longer calendar, 4.1 from 34, and its own fault reports, including a torch fire on 5 mm copper. Review count is not the only rule.
Is the top pick a pilot-arc machine?
No. The strongest evidence in this set is a touch-start Reboot CUT60. The pilot-arc Reboot 45 A is the value file, on five reviews. Painted steel without a ground patch is a reason to look at start type, not a reason to call the touch-start machine the wrong top pick for bare sheet.
