Best dehumidifier

Updated: 21 October 2026

The best dehumidifier in this set is the one whose extraction, tank and review file match a heated room you can close. The amazon.co.uk title that says Which? Best Buy is not that test. Four compressors sit in the twelve listings on the [dehumidifier comparison](/hub/cooling/dehumidifier): Pro Breeze, ARIBIO, Bosch Dry 1000 and Devola. The other eight are millilitre minis, fit for a cupboard and not for a damp bedroom. Peter F. compared those listings on 20 October 2026. There was no lab test. What best means in this set

Best here means a compressor with a litres-per-day claim, a separate tank, a humidistat or named modes, and a UK review file you can read. The room has to be heated. Meaco’s FAQ says a basic compressor can stop extracting below about 12°C. That is a class warning, not a measurement of these four models. A 5.0 from three or seven reviews does not outrank a 4.6 from thousands. Meaco and Duux are not in this set. Litre and temperature sit on the dehumidifier buying guide.

Who each compressor is for

The Pro Breeze PB-18-UK is the top pick for a heated flat you can close: 12 litres a day claimed, a 30–80% humidistat, a hose, about £134.99, and 4.6 from 5,685 reviews. Skip it if you need silence. The compressor clicks. The ARIBIO at about £129.99 is the best value: the same 12 litre headline, a hose and a child lock, with 4.6 from 1,139 reviews. Skip it if sleep mode has to be quiet. Reviews say the humidity limit is not remembered. The Bosch Dry 1000 fits a room within 17 m² when you want Night and Laundry modes, at about £159 and 4.6 from 165 reviews. Skip a cold room, and skip it if you need a hose. The Devola at £99.99 prints 8 litres a day in the title and 12 in another field. The 5.0 is from 7 reviews, which cannot carry a best label.

When a mini is the better buy

A mini is the better buy for a wardrobe, windowsill, caravan cupboard or box room, judged in millilitres. The Senelux at about £26.99 claims about 250 ml a day at 30°C and 80% relative humidity. The GW at about £37.99 states 5–15 m² and not for whole floors. The EasyAcc still claims only 400 ml a day. The TEYIAN is 5.0 from 3 reviews, with 9 W and 40 m² beside a 660 ml claim. A larger tank does not make a compressor.

Awards and scores you should not take at face value

The Pro Breeze amazon title says Which? Best Buy. The brand’s own 12 litre page describes a Which? Great Value award, and Best Buy wording on its news post sits on larger models. This comparison does not treat the title as a verified Best Buy. Which?’s figure of about 6p an hour belongs to its own test set, not to PB-18-UK. The listing’s line, as low as 7p per hour (October 2024), stays dated 2024. If the room is cold, leave this set. None of the twelve is a desiccant.

Common questions

Which of these is the best all-rounder for a heated flat?
The Pro Breeze PB-18-UK is the top pick for a heated flat you can close: 12 litres a day claimed, a 30–80% humidistat, a hose, and 4.6 from 5,685 reviews at about £134.99. It is a weaker choice if you need bedroom silence, because the compressor clicks, or if the room drops towards 12°C, where basic compressors can stop extracting. It is not a verified Which? Best Buy just because the amazon title says so.
Is the Pro Breeze 12 litre a Which? Best Buy?
The amazon.co.uk title says Which? Best Buy. Pro Breeze’s 12 litre product page describes a Which? Great Value award, and the brand’s Best Buy wording is tied to larger models in its news post. This comparison did not find a source that confirms a Best Buy for this ASIN, so the title is not used as an award. Judge it on the 12 litre claim, the hose and the review file instead.
Is a 5.0 score from 3 or 7 reviews meaningful?
It means those few buyers were positive. It does not mean the next unit will match them, and it does not beat 4.6 from 5,685 reviews on the Pro Breeze or 4.6 from 1,139 on the ARIBIO. The TEYIAN’s three reviews also sit beside a 9 W line and a 40 m² claim that conflict with a 660 ml daily rate. Treat a tiny 5.0 as unfinished evidence.
When is a mini the right best buy?
When the space is a cupboard, wardrobe, windowsill or caravan corner, and a few hundred millilitres a day is the whole job. The GW states 5–15 m² and not for whole floors, which is the honest version of that brief, at about £37.99 with 1,024 reviews. A mini is the wrong best when the windows stream or a wash is drying in the room. That job needs the litre-class compressors.
What should you skip if the room is cold?
Skip every compressor and Peltier unit in this set for a room that stays below about 10–12°C. Meaco’s example is that a basic compressor can stop extracting below about 12°C, and one Bosch review says automatic mode will not run if the room is too cold. A Senelux review reports freezing in unheated storage. A desiccant is the class those guides point to, and this set does not include one.
