VEVOR air compressor buying guide

Updated: October 2026

You searched for a VEVOR air compressor and found twelve amazon.co.uk listings, and none of them is a VEVOR. Ten are pumps listed around 300 bar for a PCP rifle. Two are Hyundai receivers at about 100 psi to 8 bar, for tyres and an airbrush. The [VEVOR air compressor comparison](/hub/compressors/vevor-air-compressor) holds the rows. This VEVOR air compressor buying guide is the order of the decision: job, stop mode, a 230 V BS 1363 socket, cylinder size and moisture, then review volume. Products Compared compiled it on 16 October 2026 from listings recorded on 15 October 2026, with no lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Start with the job, not the brand

A PCP rifle, or a small paintball bottle, needs a pump whose listing states a ceiling around 300 bar (4,500 psi, 30 MPa). An ordinary workshop job does not. The Hyundai HY5508X is an 8 litre oil-free receiver at about £129.99, listed at 100 psi, with 4.5 from 989 reviews. The HY7524X is a 24 litre receiver at about £149.95, table 8 bar, with 4.6 from 1,072 reviews. Those two will not fill a PCP cylinder. A 300 bar pump will not run a nailer, even if the title says tyre. The high-pressure brands here are TUXING, TUDIVING, SDKEHUI, and GX. VEVOR's own shop unit at about £229.99 is not one of these ASINs, and the shop reply says it has a European plug. Once the type is fixed, the next check is on the PCP pump or workshop compressor page.

Stop mode before price

If you will not stand next to the gauge, do not buy a pump the listing tells you to switch off by hand. The GX CS2, at about £289.99 with 4.4 from 1,436 reviews, states manual shutdown and says an auto-stop pressure cannot be set. The SDKEHUI puts manual-stop in the title and tells you to switch off at 30 MPa, which is 300 bar. One UK review says that unit stops at the set point. Keep both statements. Stated auto-stop appears on the wire-spool TXES062, the TUDIVING TXES062, the other TXES062, the TXET063 (you still shut the fan off by hand), and the TXEDB062. A stated stop is not the same as one you have watched. That choice is on the best VEVOR air compressor page.

UK mains and cylinder size

UK mains are 230 V, and the plug you want named is a BS 1363 13 A plug. The only bullet in this set that states a standard 13 A UK plug is the HY5508X. The HY7524X states 230 V and 13 A. Its bullets do not say a 13 A plug. Several 300 bar tables say 110 V while a bullet says 220 V. Do not average those lines. The VEVOR air compressor UK plug page holds that conflict, the 40 A reading, and the 30 June 2023 recall. About 40 A here is the 12 V battery draw, not a household circuit. Seller notes often cap these pumps at about 1 litre, and the GX bullet says not over 1 litre or 60 cubic inches. A single 2 litre line is not a reason to fill a 2 litre cylinder. Hoses can come out wet. Oil-free means you do not add pump oil. It does not mean the air is dry, and it does not mean you can breathe it.

How to read the stars

Do not merge the two rating pools. The Hyundai scores, 4.5 from 989 and 4.6 from 1,072, are workshop scores. Among the 300 bar pumps the GX CS2 leads the raw count at 4.4 from 1,436, and it is still the manual-stop unit. A high count does not overturn the stop-mode rule. The about £130.99 TUXING is 3.6 from 40 reviews, with exposed-live-part comments in that sample. Use stars after the job, the stop, and the plug.

Common questions

Is a VEVOR air compressor in this comparison actually a VEVOR?
No. All twelve ASINs are Hyundai, TUXING, TUDIVING, SDKEHUI, or GX. VEVOR's UK shop price of about £229.99 is a different listing, and the shop reply says that unit has a European plug. Do not treat the brand in your search box as the brand on the box.
Do I need 300 bar or an ordinary workshop tank?
You need about 300 bar if you are filling a PCP rifle or a small paintball bottle. You need the Hyundai-style receiver if you are inflating tyres, running an airbrush or a stapler, or doing a short blow-down. The HY5508X is listed at 100 psi and the HY7524X at 8 bar. The two jobs do not share a machine in this set.
What happens if I leave a manual-stop pump running?
The GX listing says you cannot set an auto-stop pressure, and the SDKEHUI title tells you to switch off at 30 MPa, which is 300 bar. If you walk away, the pump can keep climbing toward the listing ceiling. Buy a stated auto-stop only if you will still watch the first fills, and skip manual-stop if you will not stay.
Will a cheap 300 bar pump plug into a UK wall socket?
Not on the evidence of a low price. The only stated standard 13 A UK plug in this set is on the Hyundai 8 litre receiver. Several PCP listings print 110 V and 220 V on the same page, and one UK review of the about £169 TUXING needed an EU adapter. Check the mains page before you assume a BS 1363 plug is in the box.
How large a cylinder can these pumps fill?
Seller notes often cap the pump at about 1 litre, and the GX bullet says not over 1 litre or 60 cubic inches. Other ASINs print 0.3 litres, 0.5 litres, 2 litres, or 4,500 gallons. Treat a larger figure as a conflict, not as clearance to fill a large cylinder from that pump. A 2 litre line on one page does not grant a 2 litre fill.
Why do the Hyundai compressors have more stars?
They are workshop receivers with 989 and 1,072 reviews for ordinary DIY air, not for 300 bar. The GX CS2 has more reviews than either Hyundai, at 1,436, and it is still a manual-stop PCP pump at about £289.99. Use stars after you have fixed the job, not instead of it. Workshop stars do not fill a rifle.
