Zosi CCTV buying guide: what the box actually contains

Updated: 16 October 2026

You are on amazon.co.uk with a Zosi title that sounds like a full security system, and the parcel can still arrive without a recorder, a hard drive, a memory card, or a 12 V lead. This Zosi CCTV buying guide is the contents check for the twelve listings the Products Compared editorial team read on 15 October 2026. It is not a ranking. The ranked table is the [Zosi security camera comparison](/hub/burglar-protection/zosi-security-camera). Prices are the amazon.co.uk figures from that date. There is no laboratory test. What this set actually sells

These twelve listings are three purchases. The £79.99 kit is an 8-channel recorder with two 1080p cameras, and the highlight says no hard drive. The £275.49 kit is eight 1080p domes, and the contents line names a 2 TB drive. Add-on packs from £17.99 to £72.99 are cameras only. Plug-in Wi-Fi cameras still need mains. None of these ASINs is powered over Ethernet. A conditional pick sits on the best Zosi security camera page.

Storage that is not in the box

Only the eight-camera kit names a hard drive, a stated 2 TB disk. Reviews on that ASIN also describe older kits without a drive, so screenshot the live line. The £79.99 kit states the gap in the highlight. Until you format a disk, the timeline stays empty. Zosi's help centre asks for an internal surveillance SATA drive, not USB. It cites SkyHawk, WD Purple, and Toshiba S300, states a 6 TB cap, and suggests 1 TB or 2 TB. No Wi-Fi camera here includes a microSD card. The C289 listing claims a slot up to 256 GB. Zosi's UK page says 128 GB. No monthly fee is not included cloud storage, and an expired trial does not start a charge.

Leads, power, and the UK plug

The £17.99 bullet and the £19.99 bullet both leave out the power supply and the video lead. The other wired packs usually include them. The £79.99 kit lists two 12 V supplies and two 80 ft BNC leads. Zosi's adapter note is 100–240 V in and 12 V out. UK mains are 230 V, and the plug needs to be BS 1363. A part number ending in -UK does not prove that shape. The £19.99 model number ends -EU and the part number ends -UK, and the power supply is not in the box. A scorched plug belongs with an electrician. Leave the consumer unit closed.

Signal match and pack-size conflicts

A hybrid bullet can use TVI, AHD, CVI, or 960H, and the recorder has to share one of those. The £17.99 bullet ships in 960H. Hold the OSD button for about five seconds. 1080p appears only if the recorder supports it. Follow the card in the box. One review says the four-bullet pack is TVI with no mode switch. The two-camera packs say they are not for 960H-only DVRs. On the C688, the title reads as one camera and the highlight says two packs. On the indoor 2K camera, the title is singular and the contents say two cameras. The C298 shows 3.8 from eight ratings.

Checklist before you pay

Read the included-components line and decide whether a recorder is in the parcel. Confirm a hard drive or a memory card, or add one to the same order. Confirm the 12 V supply and, on a wired camera, the video lead. Match TVI, AHD, CVI, or 960H, and treat a -UK suffix as a catalogue label rather than a BS 1363 plug. Formatting the drive and leaving 960H are the next evening, on how to set up Zosi CCTV.

Common questions

Does the £79.99 8-channel kit include a hard drive?
No. On 15 October 2026 the highlight said there was no hard drive. The box is an 8-channel DVR, two 1080p cameras, two 12 V supplies, and two 80 ft BNC leads. A live picture is not a timeline. Fit an internal surveillance drive and format it from the recorder menu.
Which single bullets omit the power supply and the video lead?
The £17.99 hybrid bullet and the £19.99 4-in-1 bullet. Both say the camera does not come with a DVR, a power supply, or a video lead. Other wired packs in this set usually name a supply and a cable. Add those leads before you treat £17.99 as the cheaper order.
Will a Wi-Fi Zosi camera record with no memory card?
Live view can work without a card. Local files cannot. None of the Wi-Fi cameras in this set includes a microSD card. The C289 claims a slot, and the card is absent from the box. Cloud storage is optional on Zosi's own FAQ. A title that says there is no monthly fee does not mean cloud clips are included in the price.
What drive does Zosi say to buy if the kit has none?
Zosi's help centre specifies an internal surveillance SATA disk, not USB storage. The examples named there are SkyHawk, WD Purple, and Toshiba S300. The same article states a 6 TB cap and suggests 1 TB or 2 TB for a home recorder. Fit one drive at a time, with the recorder unplugged, then format it. A format deletes what was on the disk.
Does a part number ending in -UK prove the plug is BS 1363?
A -UK ending is a catalogue label. The plug is a visual check: three rectangular pins, to BS 1363. The £19.99 bullet's model number ends -EU and its part number ends -UK, and that box does not include the power supply. A 12 V camera can still arrive without a UK mains face.
