Best workshop trolley

Updated: October 2026

Search for the best workshop trolley and the UK pages that rank first are mostly roller cabinets: Halfords, Sealey Superline, Teng, and similar drawer chests. That is a different product from the shelf carts in this amazon.co.uk set. You need a shortlist that says who each shape is for, and who should leave it. The Products Compared editorial team used the nine listings in our [workshop trolley comparison](/hub/workshop/workshop-trolley), with prices and stars as shown on 16 October 2026. We did not test loads in a lab. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Our top picks

Open cart with the strongest UK review sample

Among the open carts, the TGHEY wire cart at about £79.99 has the largest UK sample: 4.7 from 61 reviews. It is our top pick when you want three tiers, liners, and 100 mm castors with two locks, and you can live with a manual. The bullets claim 100 kg per shelf and 300 kg total. Those lines agree, and they are still claims. Three polypropylene sheets sit on the mesh so sockets do not fall through. The bullets say tool-free assembly and the specification says assembly is required. UK reviews call the instructions unclear. That complaint is why it is not a blanket recommendation. Skip the TGHEY if the cart must fold when the car comes in, or if you wanted drawers.

Lower price and the folding option

The best value in this set is the Denny three-tier steel trolley at about £37.99, 4.6 from 21 reviews, claimed 75 kg, about 8 kg empty. Take it if you will check that every shelf has holes for the wheels. One UK review says a shelf had none, and the size lines swap 35 cm and 65.5 cm. KINGRACK at about £89.99 is the folding option: 4.4 from 234 reviews, about 4 kg empty. Buy it when the bay must be clear and the floor is smooth. UK reviews say it folds nearly flat and wobbles on rough concrete when loaded. Do not buy the fold because the title says heavy-duty.

When the drawer cabinet is the pick

Choose the BIZOEIRON when you want three drawers, a key, and a lipped top, and you will leave a 29.5 kg cabinet in the garage. It is about £179.99, claimed 75 kg, 4.6 from 10 reviews, with four braked wheels. Two UK reviews say it rolls in a garage. The fireproof bullet is not a certificate. Stay with open shelves if you need to see everything at once, or if you must fold the cart away. Skip TOROKOM until a real size and a review exist, and skip TAILIKANG unless you want hooks. Footprint checks belong on the workshop trolley for a small garage page.

Common questions

Which listing has the most UK reviews?
KINGRACK has 234 reviews at 4.4. That is the folding cart, not the open wire cart. Among open carts, TGHEY has 61 reviews at 4.7. MOVERLY has 29 at 4.9. Volume is not the same as a fit for rough concrete. The fold’s reviews include wobble once the cart is loaded. Read the floor comment before you treat 234 as a workshop verdict.
Is the cheapest the best value?
Denny at about £37.99 is the best value in this set only if you accept a UK report of a shelf with no wheel holes and two size lines that disagree. JAOGAUS is close on price at about £39.99 and is 4.0 from 13, so it is not the value pick. Check the carton and use your return rights if a shelf cannot take a wheel.
Is the 300 kg cart the top pick?
TGHEY is the top pick for liners, 100 mm castors, and 61 reviews, not because 300 kg beat 75 kg. The 300 kg line matches the 100 kg per shelf bullets and remains a claim. If your floor is rough and you must fold the cart, the wire cart is the wrong pick even with that number. HSE does not approve either figure.
When is the folding cart the one to buy?
Buy KINGRACK when the car has to use the bay and the floor is smooth enough that a loaded fold does not wobble. It is about £89.99, about 4 kg, and 4.4 from 234 reviews. Leave it if you will roll a heavy load across broken concrete. A trade folding trolley can also mean a very low load and no brakes, so folding alone is not the specification.
When is the drawer cabinet the one to buy?
Buy the BIZOEIRON when you want a key and three drawers and you can spare about £179.99 and 29.5 kg of empty cabinet. Two UK reviews describe garage use. Skip it when you wanted open shelves, a fold, or a large UK sample. It is not the Halfords or Sealey roller cabinet those other articles review.
What should I skip if I need a tested load?
Skip every listing in this set for that purpose. None of these kilograms or pounds was produced by a test we ran, and HSE’s assessment pages do not certify a seller’s figure. TOROKOM is the clearest skip for any other reason too, because the size is unusable and there are no reviews. If you need a published per-shelf rating, look at a trade data sheet and treat it as that brand’s claim as well.
