Metabo angle grinder 110V or 230V

Updated: October 2026

The site board is 110 V and the garage socket is a 13 A outlet, and two amazon.co.uk listings both say WEV 11-125. A Metabo angle grinder 110V or 230V choice is an order number matched to that socket, not a guess from the shared name. Order 603625000 is the 220–240 V tool. Order 603625390 is the 110–120 V twin. A 240 V title can still arrive with a two-pin plug. The [Metabo angle grinder 125 comparison](/hub/tools/metabo-angle-grinder-125) holds the full table. Prices are the 21 October 2026 shelf. Two order numbers, one model name

Metabo UK lists order 603625000 as 220–240 V and 1,100 W. The amazon row is 240 V at £94.00. Order 603625390 is the 110 V twin at the same £94.00. Same disc class, different supply. Ordering from the model name alone can put the site tool on a house job.

A 13 A socket still needs a 3-pin plug

Electrical Safety First says a home grinder should have a UK 3-pin plug. On the 240 V WEV, two United Kingdom reviews say a two-pin plug and an adaptor arrived. That report is ASIN B085W4WRGT only. Do not file the pins, and do not treat the adaptor as a BS 1363 plug. A house still wants order 603625000, the 230 V WEV 15-125, or the W 750-125 after you have seen the pins. The 110 V order will not run on that socket by itself. How the nut comes off is the how to use page. The checks before the basket are the buying guide.

110 V means a transformer, not an adaptor

The Health and Safety Executive prefers cordless tools or 110 V supplies centre-tapped to earth on construction sites, so the voltage to earth stays low. A 110 V Metabo does not start from a kitchen socket. Doncaster Tool Hire’s sheet puts the transformer in the 230 V wall. The WP at £103.16 names a dead-man paddle and has no star line. The 110 V WEV at £94.00 prints 2,800–10,500 per minute. Do not file a yellow plug to fit a 13 A socket.

When the listing prints no volts

The WEV 850-125 set, order 603611510, is £174.29 and the amazon file does not print a voltage. Confirm the plate, or leave the ASIN. A bare 18 V body avoids the mains choice only if the packs are already yours. That gap is the cordless or corded page. For a 110 V board, stay with 603625390 or the WP, with the transformer between the wall and the tool.

Common questions

Can I plug the 110 V Metabo into a normal UK socket?
No. Orders 603625390 and the WP 11-125 are 110 V tools. A 110 V grinder does not run from a 13 A socket on its own. Doncaster Tool Hire’s sheet puts a transformer in the 230 V wall socket and a 110 V lead between that transformer and the tool. The house listings in this folder are the 240 V WEV 603625000, the 240 V W 750-125, and the 230 V WEV 15-125.
What is the difference between 603625000 and 603625390?
603625000 is the 220–240 V WEV 11-125 on Metabo UK, listed on amazon at 240 V, 1,100 W and £94.00. 603625390 is the 110–120 V twin, listed at 110 V and the same £94.00, with 2,800–10,500 per minute printed on the amazon bullets. Both are 125 mm. The order number is the difference that decides the socket.
Is 240 V on the title the same as a UK 3-pin plug?
Not on the evidence in this file. The 240 V WEV’s two United Kingdom reviews say a two-pin plug and an adaptor arrived, and one says a page answer had claimed a 3-pin plug. Electrical Safety First expects a UK 3-pin plug for home use. The W 750-125 is also listed at 240 V, and its file does not describe the pins at all.
Which listing is 230 V rather than 240 V?
The WEV 15-125 Quick, order 600468000, at £142.50. The technical line says 230 volts and 1,550 watts. The 240 V lines are the W 750-125 and WEV order 603625000. Plug shape on the 230 V listing is not in the raw file, so 230 V is the stated supply, not a confirmed BS 1363 plug.
Do I need an RCD on a 230 V grinder?
Doncaster Tool Hire’s sheet describes the 230 V pattern as socket, RCD, lead, then tool. That is the hire sheet, not a Metabo manual line. The 110 V pattern on the same sheet uses a transformer and a yellow plug instead. Read the RCD point as that sheet’s 230 V arrangement, and still match the order number to the socket first.
What is a yellow 110 V plug for?
It marks a 110 V site tool. On the hire sheet, that plug goes to the 110 V outlet on the transformer, and the transformer is what meets the 230 V wall. It is not a house plug, and it is not a plug you reshape to fit a 13 A socket. The WP and WEV 603625390 are the 110 V Metabo bodies in this set.
Does the £174 set say 230 V?
The amazon file for order 603611510 does not print a voltage. It prints 850 W, 11,500 per minute, a two-hole nut, a diamond disc and a case, at £174.29, with no star line. A retailer page for that order may say 230 V. Until this listing or the plate says so, leave 230 V unticked.
