IBC agitator air compressor viscosity: name the motor

The £347 IB1000L prints a centipoise guide and leaves the motor unnamed. Read the pressure, horsepower and the missing air-flow figure before you order.
On this page

You have a 1,000-litre tote of paint, coating or ink, and the amazon.co.uk page already sorts horsepower by thickness. The IB1000L listing, ASIN B0FWRDJ4RL, is priced at £347 in our comparison file. It prints a guide from water-like liquid through to 10,000 centipoise, and it never names which motor is in the box or how much air that motor uses. An IBC agitator air compressor viscosity decision starts with those two blanks. Until a seller names the horsepower and the flow, the table cannot size the compressor.
Peter F. read the UK listing files for that IB1000L, for the generic page B0HLXKCNZ7 at £245.99, and for the MOUNW unit B0CLJDWZ9R at £225.90. This article records those files. It adds no lab mix and recommends no compressor model from a pressure figure. Prices can change on amazon.co.uk. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The top pick in the agitator comparison is the SZXMDKH ball pack for small bottles, about £5.11. It does not mix a tote.
In short
The only centipoise table in this set sits on the £347 IB1000L page, and it is seller guidance for choosing a motor. The generic £245.99 page lists 1/2 hp, 3/4 hp and 1 hp together, plus a ceiling of 0.6 MPa, without saying which machine you will receive or how many litres per minute it needs. The £225.90 MOUNW page gives neither a pressure nor a viscosity. Until the seller names the motor and the air consumption for the exact ASIN, you cannot size a compressor from the listing.
Viscosity numbers on the IB1000L
The IB1000L is the only page in the set that ties horsepower to thickness. It pairs 1/2 hp with water-like viscosity, 3/4 hp with 1 to 1,000 centipoise, and 1 hp with 1,000 to 10,000 centipoise. One centipoise equals 1 mPa.s. Water sits near 1 mPa.s, and that figure says nothing about your paint. The file contains no timed mix of a named product, so 10,000 cP is the seller's upper label. Treat that label as a menu for motors, then ask which motor this ASIN contains. The box line says only "IBC air agitator". The brand field is empty, and the maker string nanhaiquweiruisi does not fill in the horsepower. A data sheet at 4,000 cP lands in the printed 1 hp band on paper. It describes the carton only after the seller confirms the motor.
The dimensions are the part you can measure. The file gives a 960 mm rod, two folding impellers that open to 250 mm, a rack from 720 mm to 1,200 mm, and a weight of 12 kg. Capacity is stated as 1,000 litres, also written as 265 gallons. Speed is called adjustable, with no rpm. Check the bung and the headroom before you debate centipoise. The agitator buying guide lists what a usable listing should name before you trust a capacity line. A page that withholds the motor has withheld the claim.
Three horsepowers on one listing
The generic listing at £245.99, ASIN B0HLXKCNZ7, model KM-KPzJJO-Multicolor-, prints three machines at once. The bullets name 1/2 hp, 3/4 hp and 1 hp, speed bands of 0 to 1,300, 0 to 1,900 and 0 to 2,500 rpm, and vessel classes of 50, 100 and 250 gallons. They also describe a folding propeller, a clamp, and a stainless rod and blade. The file never joins the ASIN to one motor, one speed or one size. There is no star line and no review text.
A three-horsepower bullet is a menu. If your liquid sits in the upper band shown on the IB1000L, this page has not promised the 1 hp motor. If your tote is a 1,000-litre cage, the page has not said the 250-gallon variant will arrive, and it has not equated those gallon classes to 1,000 litres. The IB1000L is the listing that states 1,000 litres. Borrowing its viscosity table for the cheaper ASIN stacks two unknowns. Ask, in writing, for one configuration: horsepower, rpm band, vessel size, air consumption and maximum inlet pressure. A price under £347 saves money when the carton matches the motor you sized. The clamp describes the mount, and the file gives no stainless grade.
Air pressure with no flow figure
The generic bullets say up to 0.6 MPa. That is 6 bar, about 87 psi if your gauge is marked both ways. The IB1000L states no pressure and tells you to supply the air. The MOUNW page states neither pressure nor viscosity. An air motor needs a volume of air each minute at a working pressure, in litres per minute or cubic feet per minute. Neither B0HLXKCNZ7 nor B0FWRDJ4RL gives that volume. HSE publication INDG178 places receiver duties with the compressed-air system, and these mixer pages specify no receiver, hose bore or filter. Turning 0.6 MPa into a compressor model, a tank size or a duty cycle would invent a flow the seller left out.
The usual failure is a gauge that reaches the stated bar while the motor bogs as receiver pressure falls. The IB1000L lists the 960 mm rod, the 250 mm blades and the 12 kg weight, and it stays silent on consumption. If a seller later quotes a flow, tie it to this motor, to a pressure in bar, and to the two folding impellers. A lone cfm figure, or a figure borrowed from the 1 hp version, still leaves the carton unknown.
The compressor and the zone stay with you
The mixer and the air system are separate purchases. The IB1000L contents line is the agitator. The generic page expects compressed air and withholds the flow. The MOUNW, model dd0237001222, is £225.90 in the file, scored 4.6 from three ratings, with no review text. The title aims at a one-ton IBC and at paint, coatings and ink. The bullets stop at foldable and portable. Three ratings do not describe a thick liquid in a full tote, and the page still omits pressure, speed and air volume.
An air motor takes the mains motor off the lid. HSE guidance on explosive atmospheres still applies where the product can create one. The generic page says the pneumatic design is particularly suitable for flammable and explosive industrial environments, and the file contains no certificate number. Treat the sentence as seller copy. The pneumatic and electric comparison explains why that line cannot stand in for a workplace assessment. If you already run a receiver, INDG178 keeps the written scheme of examination with that system. A new air tool does not rewrite the scheme, and the carton does not include one. Get consumption in writing before you buy a compressor for this tote. None of the three files gives a run time or a cleaning method. Take those from the liquid supplier and from how the tote is bunded and vented.
What to ask before you pay
Ask these before you pay £347, and wait for answers that name ASIN B0FWRDJ4RL.
- Ask which single horsepower is packed with this ASIN, and which printed centipoise band that motor is meant to cover.
- Ask for litres per minute at a stated pressure for that motor. Leave the 0.6 MPa line on B0HLXKCNZ7, where it is printed.
- Ask for the maximum inlet pressure of the supplied motor. The IB1000L file does not state one.
- Ask for shaft speed in rpm, or for a plain statement that speed is unspecified.
- Ask whether an explosive-atmosphere certificate applies, and for the number if the seller says yes.
- Check the 960 mm rod, the 250 mm open blades and the 720 to 1,200 mm rack against the cage, bung and headroom.
Use the same list on the £245.99 page, and ask which gallon class and which speed band ships. A reply that still offers 1,300, 1,900 and 2,500 rpm has not chosen a machine. The MOUNW page needs pressure, viscosity and flow from a datasheet. File the answers with the order. If the seller cannot name the horsepower, you would be buying a 1,000-litre mixer from a shaft length and a price. Return to the buying guide for the wider checklist before the tote is full.
