Parasol ground spike buying guide

Updated: 22.10.2026

You are holding a parasol pole and a search page that uses one name for several tools. A parasol ground spike is a metal socket for soil or sand. That name covers a 22 mm beach piece, a 32–40 mm washing-line spear, and hardware that is only a tent peg. Measure the pole in millimetres, reject anything that is not a socket, then match the shape to the ground you actually have. The eight amazon.co.uk listings stay on the [parasol ground spike comparison](/hub/sun-shades/parasol-ground-spike). A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Products Compared did not run a laboratory test.

Measure the pole before you open a listing

Write the outside of the pole in millimetres before you sort by price. The windows in this set are different products. Eidoct B09BK2SKNM is a two-piece anchor for 22–35 mm. Kovvouk B0FBL8VCK9 prints an opening up to 3.6 cm. JVL B00WIYPD62 is a hammer-in spear for 32–40 mm with a plastic adaptor. DIVCHI B09BYXQVRJ and Harrms B0G91JKW11 both print 2.5–5.5 cm. A 25 mm beach pole and a 38 mm garden pole cannot share a throat because both titles say spike. A UK review on the Eidoct file is the concrete miss. The reviewer put the opening at about 3.5 cm and said a 4 cm garden umbrella would not go in. Five millimetres is enough to send the pole back to the box. JuYue B0DDXFX19P prints no diameter. One reviewer put that opening nearer 35 mm than 36 mm, which is a comment, not a specification. Loopunk B0DRBYMPCB says the throat is adjustable and prints no millimetres. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 9, satisfactory quality is judged against the description. If the page never states a diameter, you cannot later point at a number the seller did not give.

Four shapes, and the ground each one names

This set has four shapes, and each one names a ground. The hammer-in spear is JVL, galvanised, sold first as a rotary-airer socket. The screw-in auger is DIVCHI, zinc-plated, 1.36 kg, with a turn rod and three screws. The bullet says 2.5–5.5 cm and a 56 cm screw. The beach spiral is Harrms, coated metal, with a 43 cm bullet. The lawn thorns are shorter pieces you push: Kovvouk at 3.6 cm, JuYue’s four-spike stand at 46 cm overall with a 26 cm spike, Eidoct’s two-piece set, and Loopunk with no millimetre range. Soil and turf are what a spear or an auger is for. A spiral is sold for sand and grass. None of these eight is a patio base. Reviewers could not get an Eidoct anchor into hardstanding. Tent pegs were removed from this search, because a peg does not hold a mast. Auger or spear is the screw-in versus hammer-in page.

What this amazon.co.uk set actually costs

Price only helps after you know the shape. In these extracts the spread is about £6.74 to about £22.08, and it is a spread of different objects. Check the live offer. A higher star line is not a better parasol fit. Loopunk’s 4.5 from five reviews tells you less than DIVCHI’s 4.4 from 658. JVL’s 7,962 reviews are mostly rotary airers, with a handful of parasol sentences. That is use, not a parasol test. This guide does not crown a winner.

Clashes you should not average away

A low price is not the last word if the page cannot tell you how long the metal is. DIVCHI’s bullet says 56 cm. The technical line says 420 mm, which is 42 cm. Those are 14 cm apart. Prefer the centimetre bullet, and do not average the two figures. JVL’s dimension line is 6 × 5 × 6 cm, with no length bullet. Six centimetres is not a buried length. Harrms says 43 cm in the bullet and 1 × 1 × 1 cm on the dimension line. Kovvouk’s bullets say 35 cm overall, against a line of 4 × 10.03 × 2 cm. Keep the bullet. If you cannot size a row, leave it, then match spear, auger, spiral, or thorn to soil or sand.

Common questions

What diameter should I measure before I buy?
Measure the outside of the pole in millimetres before you filter by price. The printed windows are 22–35 mm on Eidoct, up to 3.6 cm on Kovvouk, 32–40 mm on JVL, and 2.5–5.5 cm on DIVCHI and Harrms. JuYue and Loopunk do not print one. A reviewer’s about 35 mm is not a bullet. A 40 mm pole does not belong in a 22–35 mm anchor.
Can a rotary-line spike hold a garden parasol?
It can, when the pole is inside the printed throat. JVL’s window is 32–40 mm, and most of the 7,962 reviews are about a rotary airer. DIVCHI’s bullet names a parasol, and UK texts mention a large one. Neither star average is a parasol test. Outside that window, the airer heritage does not help.
Is 22–35 mm the same product as 32–40 mm?
They overlap only around 32–35 mm, and the hardware is still different. Eidoct is a two-piece push-in anchor at about £14.99 for sand and beach. JVL is a hammer-in spear at about £6.74 for firm ground. A 33 mm pole might enter both on paper. The ground and the motion are a different purchase.
Do I need a spike if the parasol already sits in a table?
A table hole is not a base. A published copy of BS EN 581-3:2017 shows a 30 N test for tables that support a parasol. That is a table test, not a wind class for a spike. On the JuYue file a reviewer still used a table as well as the stand. A cantilever needs its own foot.
What is a reasonable GBP band on amazon.co.uk for this set?
In these extracts the band is about £6.74 to about £22.08. JVL is about £6.74. DIVCHI and Kovvouk are about £10.99. Eidoct through JuYue sit between about £14.99 and about £16.99. GeZu is about £22.08 with no size bullets. A Relaxdays three-prong at about £27.90 is outside this file. Check the live offer.
Which listing in the file is too messy to size?
GeZu B08GCDTVMD. The title says hot-dip and screw-in, at about £22.08 and 4.3 from 129 reviews, with no size bullets. The raw file also prints ASIN B0DS1FSLC7. A separate GeZu page at 57 cm and about £46.38 is not this listing. Leave it until one page states one diameter and one length.
