3x6 gazebo wind

Updated: 22.10.2026

You are about to stand a 3×6 on grass or on a patio, perhaps for a stall, and you want to know when the roof comes down. A 3x6 gazebo wind rating is not printed on these amazon.co.uk listings. Pegs, empty weight bags and a waterproof title do not create one, and side walls add sail. The [Gazebo 3x6 comparison](/hub/sun-shades/gazebo-3x6) is the product table. The Products Compared editorial team used those staged pages and public UK stall rules on 20 October 2026. We did not measure a wind speed. None of these listings states a tested wind speed

There is no national miles-per-hour limit for a garden pop-up, and none of the eight kept listings states a tested wind speed. A waterproof line, a UV number or a “heavy duty” bullet is about cloth and marketing, not a gale. A later look at the grey VOUNOT page included a seller note for light to moderate wind under 45 km/h and light to moderate rain, and it said the gazebo is mainly for shade, not a shelter from rain or wind. Quote that only as that seller’s use limit. It is not a laboratory result, and it does not copy onto the All Seasons, the WOLTU pool, either SANHENG, or the Outsunny.

Pegs hold soil; a patio needs filled weight

Pegs and stakes need soil they can bite. A patio, concrete or deck needs filled or solid weight on the feet, because a peg will not hold in a slab. All Seasons names grass, concrete, patios and sand, and includes four weight bags plus pegs and rope. The listing does not say the bags arrive filled. Both VOUNOT colours list six sandbags and say the sand is not included. The WOLTU listings give you stakes and ropes, not sandbags. The Outsunny lists pegs and guy ropes and no weight bags. The SANHENG pole tent does not name pegs in the bullets. An empty fabric bag is not 12 kg. You supply the sand, water or solid blocks, and you do it before you walk away.

Walls add shelter and sail

More cloth is more sail. Both VOUNOT colours and both SANHENG models list six walls. The grey WOLTU lists four. The Outsunny includes walls with windows. The All Seasons box in this set lists none. A wall keeps a shower off the table and it also gives the wind a panel to push. In wind, take the walls off before you trust the frame, and leave them off if you are only trying to keep the roof. St Albans City and District Council, for its market and events, asks for at least 12 kg on each foot, with two weights per foot when gusts of 35 mph or more are forecast. That 12 kg is a filled market weight, not the empty bag in an amazon box, and it does not clear this set to trade.

Take it down before the warning, not after the gust

Take the roof down before a wind warning, and do not stand under the frame in a gust you cannot stand in beside it. The Outsunny listing says not to leave its tent up overnight or in bad weather, so extra weight does not turn that ban into an overnight permission. The beige WOLTU says to avoid leaving it in bad weather. There is no kilogram on this page that makes any of these eight frames safe in a named gale.

Common questions

Will a 3×6 gazebo from this set survive a stated wind speed?
No survival speed is printed on these eight listings, and there is no national miles-per-hour law for a garden pop-up. A seller note on a later view of the grey VOUNOT, under 45 km/h and shade rather than a storm shelter, is that page’s use limit only. It is not a test, and it does not apply to the other models. Treat every roof here as something you can take down.
Do the sandbags and weight bags arrive full?
No. All Seasons does not say the four bags arrive filled. VOUNOT states that the sand is not included, and a review says the bags themselves were missing. An empty bag is not the 12 kg a market rule means by a weight. You fill them, or you buy solid weights, before they count as an anchor.
Is 12 kg per foot the rule for a garden patio?
Twelve kilograms on each foot is a St Albans market rule for stalls, with a second weight per foot when gusts of 35 mph or more are forecast. It is not a garden law, and it is not met by the empty bags in these boxes. Other guides publish 13 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg or about 40 kg a leg and contradict one another. None of those figures was measured on these ASINs.
When should you take it down?
Before a wind warning, and as soon as you would not stand in the gust yourself. Do not wait until the roof is already lifting. The Outsunny must not stay up overnight or in bad weather even if you have pegged it. The beige WOLTU says to avoid bad weather. At a stall, weights come off last, after the roof is down, not before.
Is a barbecue safe under the roof if the walls are open?
No. GOV.UK says not to barbecue in a tent or under an awning. Open sides do not remove the ban. Charcoal and gas still produce carbon monoxide after the coals look out, which is the London Fire Brigade warning. Keep the cooker outside the footprint of the roof.
