Garden gazebo buying guide

Updated: 22.10.2026

You are measuring a lawn before a birthday lunch, and the amazon.co.uk titles all say garden gazebo while the boxes do not describe the same object. A garden gazebo buying guide has to settle three things before any row looks like a winner: the footprint in square metres, whether the frame pops up or arrives as poles, and the water word printed on that listing. This page uses the eleven amazon.co.uk listings in our [garden gazebo comparison](/hub/sun-shades/garden-gazebo). Nothing here is a lab test, and a score on the main table is stars plus a review-count band, not a wind tunnel.

What you are actually buying

Ten of the eleven listings are pop-up scissor frames. The exception is BIRCHTREE B0C5BYP6BB, a flat-packed steel-tube frame with a polyethylene cover at £41.68. That is a pole tent, not a frame you push up at lunchtime, and the reviews describe joints that separate and legs that bent in a small breeze. If you wanted a hard roof that stays through a UK winter, none of these rows is that object. The split is on pop up gazebo vs hardtop gazebo. Heavy duty in a title is a marketing line, not a rain or wind rating. None of these eleven listings prints a maximum wind speed. RELAX FIELD reviews include a flip in a slight breeze.

Footprint before guest counts

The floor areas printed on these listings are 4, 9, 13.5 and 18 square metres. Outsunny B007X3RU96 is the only 2 × 2 m, listed at 4 m², at £45.98. Reviewers use it for two people and a table. A 3 × 3 m covers 9 m²: the beige All Seasons at £179.99, four VOUNOT 3 × 3 m models, the RELAX FIELD, and the BIRCHTREE. Gardenbox describes 3 × 3 m as a dining set and 3 × 6 m when entertaining is regular. That is layout advice, not a headcount. The navy All Seasons B01M12X6Z0 is 3 × 4.5 m, 13.5 m², at £242.99. The two 3 × 6 m rows cover 18 m²: VOUNOT B0D41R8DTJ at £160.49 and All Seasons B01IEOI2NU at £279.99. If the patio is 4 m deep, an 18 m² frame will overhang the step.

Waterproof, water resistant, water repellent

Amazon’s water field on these rows uses three different words, and they are not a shared laboratory scale. All Seasons prints waterproof on the beige 3 × 3 m, the navy 3 × 4.5 m and the beige 3 × 6 m. VOUNOT prints waterproof on B0932S6HGZ, B0CPF3TP8N, B0DHC4PTT2 and the 3 × 6 m, and water repellent on B09SB3YNMG at £64.49. Outsunny and BIRCHTREE print water resistant. Only VOUNOT B0DHC4PTT2 prints a pressure: the roof can withstand 1,200 Pa, beside UPF 50+, at £68.39. Treat 1,200 Pa as that bullet, not as a storm certificate. B09SB3YNMG says water repellent, and reviews say the cover is not waterproof. UPF 50+ or UV50+ is printed on B0DHC4PTT2 and on the 3 × 6 m VOUNOT. BIRCHTREE’s UV field is printed as low.

Walls, bags and the weight that does not match

All Seasons bullets in this set do not include side walls. The beige 3 × 3 m pack lists four leg weight bags, rope, tent pegs and a wheeled carry bag. The brand sells sides as a separate package, and it warns that the name All Seasons does not mean the gazebo can stay up all year. VOUNOT, Outsunny and BIRCHTREE do put walls in the box. RELAX FIELD’s title and bullets do not list walls. The bags in the carton are empty. Filling them is the job on how to stop a gazebo blowing away. On the beige All Seasons, reviews say the supplied sandbags split while being filled or in use. B00KJPMJWS prints an item weight of 4.85 kg beside 9 m² and an occupancy line of 1 person. The brand’s own page prints about 20 kg boxed. Use 4.85 kg as the printed line, not as a checked steel mass.

Common questions

Is 3 × 3 m enough for a meal, or do I need 3 × 6 m?
A 3 × 3 m in this set covers 9 m², which Gardenbox treats as a dining set if you also leave room for chairs beyond the feet. A 3 × 6 m covers 18 m², and VOUNOT reviewers mention two tables under that length. The navy All Seasons at 13.5 m² sits between them. Measure your patio before you stretch to 18 m².
What is the difference between waterproof, water resistant and water repellent on these listings?
They are the words amazon.co.uk prints, not one shared test. All Seasons and most VOUNOT rows say waterproof. Outsunny and BIRCHTREE say water resistant. VOUNOT B09SB3YNMG says water repellent, and reviews say that cover leaks. Only the white VOUNOT prints a pressure, 1,200 Pa. Gala Tent’s 6,000 mm head belongs to its own fabric.
Which rows include side walls, and which make me buy them later?
Outsunny, every VOUNOT in this set, and BIRCHTREE include side walls in the listing. The three All Seasons rows do not list walls in the title or bullets, and the brand sells sides separately. RELAX FIELD does not list walls either.
Is the BIRCHTREE the same kind of gazebo as the pop-ups?
No. B0C5BYP6BB is a flat-packed steel and polyethylene tent at 8 kg and £41.68, with ropes and ground nails and no carry bag in the feature bullets. The other ten are pop-up frames. Reviews describe poles that will not stay together and a frame blown over in a small breeze.
Does a UV yes mean UPF 50?
No. A yes on the ultraviolet line only means the listing claims some UV protection. UPF 50+ is printed on the white VOUNOT, and UV50+ on the 3 × 6 m VOUNOT. BIRCHTREE’s field is printed as low. Shade still depends on the colour and on whether you hang the walls.
