Small garden day bed

Updated: 21 October 2026

The corner you have is about 1.2 m wide, perhaps a balcony or the return between the kitchen door and the fence, and a round day bed in the photos looks as if it might squeeze in. A small garden day bed, in this comparison, is the love bed, and only if you measure the usable seat rather than the lifestyle picture. If the patio can spare about 1.8 m by 1.6 m, the round island is the set you would be giving up, canopy included. The [Outdoor daybed comparison](/hub/sun-loungers/outdoor-daybed) holds both shapes. The [garden day bed buying guide](/hub/sun-loungers/outdoor-daybed/sub/outdoor-daybed-buying-guide) is the wider method, the [best outdoor daybed](/hub/sun-loungers/outdoor-daybed/sub/outdoor-daybed-best) page names the fit, and the [garden day bed with canopy](/hub/sun-loungers/outdoor-daybed/sub/outdoor-daybed-canopy) page explains the hood the love bed does not have. We used the listings and the brand's piece sizes on 19 October 2026.

The love bed's real footprint

The brown love bed's bullets print the sofa at 119 x 61 x 71 cm and the footstool at 111 x 55 x 34 cm, extending to 132 cm. It is one box, at 21 kg, with a two-seater line up to 210 kg. The same listing also shows 119 x 172 x 71 cm, which is the pieces set out in a row, not a larger sofa. The black love bed prints 61 x 119 x 71 cm, seat height 34 cm, 20 kg, seating for two, 210 kg, a minimum door width of 119 cm, and no canopy. EVRE's own black love-bed page says the cover is not included, gives cushion thickness as 5 cm, and has stated 200 kg. That is not the 210 kg line on the amazon.co.uk listings. Do not blend them. The 119 cm sofa width is what you take to the balcony, and it is not the usable sitting width.

Two people, on a short seat

The black listing says seating capacity 2 and a maximum of 210 kg. That is a claim for two people sitting, not for two adults lying out as they would on a sunbed. Reviewers call the love bed small, low, and very upright. One reviewer put usable width near 104 cm. That is one tape measure, not a specification. Use it as a two-seater for a drink, with the footstool making a short daybed for one person at 5 cm of cushion. At £149.99, and at 4.0 from 860 on each colour, the star count does not lengthen the seat. If your brief is a couple lying under a hood, this shape will feel like the wrong product. There is no canopy on either colour, so shade has to come from the building or from a different row.

The round island you are not buying

The mixed-grey Bali, B08DXBR2DY, prints 180 x 160 x 143 cm, at 41.6 kg, across three boxes, at £255.99 and 4.3 from 417. The 143 cm is the canopy. That footprint is the wrong shape for a 1.2 m corner. You would be overhanging the railing or blocking the door, and the hood still needs clearance above. Other round models sit in the same class, about 180 cm long and 150-175 cm deep. Choose the round island when the patio can give up that patch and you want the hood. The black Bali prints 300 kg rather than the 120 kg on the mixed-grey bullets, at £269.99. The Seychelles adds a centre table and a 160 kg line, at £319.99 or £349.99, and it is no smaller. None of those is a small garden day bed. If shade is why you started, do not buy the love bed and hope a canopy appears.

Doorway, and building it outside

The black love bed prints a minimum door width of 119 cm. That figure matches the sofa width. If your doorway is only just that wide, assemble it in the garden or on the balcony, rather than building it indoors and pivoting it through the frame. The brown set's one box at 21 kg can come upstairs. The finished sofa is the part that sticks. If the footstool will not meet after you have loosened the bolts and tried once more, stop and contact the amazon.co.uk seller. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 puts a product that does not match its description with the retailer. Do not drill a new hole to save the afternoon. A cover is not in the love-bed listing. Budget for one, and bring the 5 cm cushions in.

Common questions

Will two people lie down on the love bed?
The listing says two people can sit, with a limit up to 210 kg on the amazon.co.uk listings. Reviews describe a small, low, upright seat, and one tape measure put usable width near 104 cm. That does not support two adults lying side by side. One person can use the footstool as a short daybed.
How much floor does the round Bali need?
About 180 x 160 cm of floor for B08DXBR2DY, plus room to walk around, with the canopy at 143 cm. That set does not belong in a 1.2 m corner. If you can spare about 1.8 m by 1.6 m, the round island is available.
Can you assemble the love bed indoors and carry it out?
Only if the doorway is clearly wider than the 119 cm sofa. The black listing's minimum door width is 119 cm, which is the sofa itself. A door of 119 cm is a reason to build outside.
Is there a canopy on the small set?
No. Neither love bed has a hood. EVRE aims them at covered patios. The Bali and Seychelles canopies are the hoods in this comparison, and they need the larger footprint.
When is the round island still the right buy on a small patio?
When the patio can still give you about 1.8 m by 1.6 m. A courtyard that size can take the Bali. A 1.2 m balcony cannot. If the hood is the point, keep the round set.
