Best jigsaw blade set: the starter, refill or case

Updated: 22 October 2026

You are choosing one pack before a Saturday of shelving, a worktop cut-out, or a pile of stud timber, and best without that job points at the biggest box. This best jigsaw blade set page names a pack for a mixed starter, a pack when you already know the code, and a pack when the case is the point, then says who should leave the shortlist. Prices and review counts are the amazon.co.uk figures in the [jigsaw blade comparison](/hub/saw-accessories/jigsaw-blade). We set them beside the UK review notes on 20 October 2026. There was no lab cut. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Best mixed starter

The Bosch ten-piece, part 2607010630, is £8.99 with 4.7 from 10,713 reviews, the largest file in this set. You get two T119BO, two T119B and two T111C, then one each of T218A, T118G, T118A and T118B. That is scroll wood, straight wood and a taste of thin metal. UK reviewers mention a clean cut on an Einhell cordless jigsaw. A bullet says HSS and Made in Switzerland while the origin field says China, so do not quote either line as settled. One T118A disappears on the first metal bracket. The WORKPRO 25-piece at £14.99 is the wider starter when sheet metal is a regular part of the week.

Best refill when you already know the code

TopsTools sells fifteen T144D blades, 6 TPI, high-carbon steel, for £5.99. The listing is 4.6 from 5,662 reviews. UK texts say they arrive sharp and fit a DeWalt. The seller job is straight, fast cuts in wood, OSB and plywood. That is the best value pick when the week’s work is studs and sheet. A reviewer who wanted a neat edge says these are the wrong blades. Another blade bent after heat in 18 mm OSB. Codes and the Bosch thickness bands are on the jigsaw blade buying guide. A 50-piece mix is not a better refill of one code.

Best case if you lose blades

The Bosch 30-piece, part 2607010903, is the top pick when the case is part of the job. Ten T119BO at 83 mm, ten T111C at 100 mm and ten T118A at 92 mm sit in a Tough Box for £18.64, with 4.8 from 10,383 reviews. UK texts say the box lives in a tool bag, and also that the trays are cramped. Conflicting listing fields print 92 teeth and a 26 mm diameter. Use the component lengths, not those rows. The Bosch GB site lists a different 30-piece Tough Box at £35.39 including VAT. The amazon.co.uk price for this pack is £18.64.

Who should not use this shortlist

Dekton’s five-piece at £3.79 is the right pack only for an older Black & Decker that bolts the blade in. JMD’s thirty T101BR blades at £16.99 show 4.8 from 22 reviews, too thin to call a best set. If the top face is the show face, use the reverse tooth jigsaw blade page. EXFEIN at £20.89 has bend reports in laminate. BGTEC at £19.79 is drawer stock, and the wrong best if you only cut studs.

Common questions

What is the best set if I cut wood and a bit of metal?
The Bosch ten-piece at £8.99 is the short answer, because the review file is huge and the box includes T118A and T118B as well as wood codes. You only get one of several metal blades, so a second bracket means a refill. The WORKPRO 25-piece at £14.99 gives you five T118A blades and a case if metal is a regular part of the week. Both are T-shank. Neither was cut-tested by us.
What if I only cut stud timber?
Buy the TopsTools fifteen-pack of T144D at £5.99. It is a coarse 6 TPI wood blade, 4.6 from 5,662 reviews, and reviewers use it for fast cuts rather than a tidy edge. A 30-piece Bosch case is spare capacity you will not open. If the timber is full of nails, this carbon-steel pack is the wrong steel, and you should move to a bi-metal blade the listing actually identifies.
Is the Bosch 30-piece worth more than the 10-piece?
It is worth the jump from £8.99 to £18.64 when you want ten of each of three codes and a Tough Box you can throw in a bag. The 4.8 from 10,383 reviews is the deepest file on that pack. It is not worth it when you are still finding out whether you cut curves or sheet metal. The ten-piece lets you learn that for less, with the limit that several codes appear only once.
Which pack for a worktop?
Leave the fast T144D pack. A reverse-tooth T101BR is the code that aims chips at the underside so the top face stays cleaner, and it does not keep both faces clean. JMD sells thirty of that code at £16.99 with only 22 reviews. Treat 4.8 as a thin sample. A coarse blade run slowly is still an up-cut blade.
What should I buy for an old Black & Decker?
If the blade is held by a screw, the Dekton five-piece at £3.79 is the pack in this comparison built for that clamp. If the saw is a current Black & Decker with a quick clamp, the brand’s UK support says new products use T-shank, and you want one of the other eleven packs. Look at the holder you have, not at the age you think the saw is.
Why not the 50-piece as the default best?
Because most of the blades answer jobs you may not have. BGTEC at £19.79 and EXFEIN at £20.89 both include ten T144D, ten T101BR and metal codes. That is drawer stock. EXFEIN also has bend reports in laminate and a higher price. For one material, fifteen of the right code at £5.99 beats fifty mixed blades you will not load.
