How to choose a 210mm circular saw blade that fits

Updated: 22 October 2026

You have a blunt disc on a mitre saw or a compact table saw, and the amazon.co.uk results all say 210 mm. A 210mm circular saw blade is the right replacement only when the diameter, the bore, the kerf and the ring agree with the machine you already own. Tooth count and price come after those checks. This page follows that order using the eleven listings in the [210x30 saw blade comparison](/hub/saw-accessories/210x30-saw-blade), read on 20 October 2026. It is not a lab cut, and a qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Named picks sit on the [best 210mm saw blade](/hub/saw-accessories/210x30-saw-blade/sub/210x30-saw-blade-best) page.

Diameter and bore

Start with the two numbers on the saw. DeWalt's UK manual for the DWE7485 states a 210 mm blade and a 30 mm bore, at 5,800 rpm. Bosch Professional sells 210 mm and 216 mm as different blades. Evolution's R210SMS is also 210 mm and publishes a 25.4 mm bore, so a 30 mm blade plus a 1 inch ring is not the blade Evolution specifies.

Kerf, plate and the riving knife

Kerf is the slot the tips cut. The plate has to be thinner, or the body rubs. HSE's WIS16 says the riving knife should be thicker than the body, slightly thinner than the cut, and within 8 mm of the blade at table level. DeWalt's DWE7485 manual states a 2.4 mm kerf, a 1.6 mm body and a 2.2 mm knife. A 1.8 mm kerf cannot clear that knife. Do not take the knife off to make a thin blade run. Saxton's 80-tooth bullets state 2.6 mm and 1.6 mm. If the knife binds, use the riving knife page before tooth count.

Teeth and hook

Once the blade fits, tooth count is the size of the chip. As a rule of thumb from these listings, not from BS EN 847-1, about 24 to 40 teeth suit a fast rip, about 48 to 60 a general crosscut, and about 80 to 100 a visible edge. Trend's cordless 60-tooth blade is +20 degrees, and one reviewer says that rake can lift a mitre saw. These files do not print BS EN 847-1:2017, so this page does not claim the mark. The bands are on the fine or rip page.

Rings and the flange

A reducing ring lets a 30 mm bore sit on a smaller arbor only when both flanges clamp it. Saxton and Rennie list 16, 20 and 25 mm. BAUBECK lists 1 inch, 20 mm and 16 mm. 25 mm is not 25.4 mm. Trend's 48-tooth file and both DeWalt XR files list no ring. One BAUBECK reviewer says a Ryobi would not clamp once the ring was fitted. A 30 mm thickness field is the bore copied into the wrong row.

Listing fields that fail a check

The last check is a file that fights itself. The Saxton 80-tooth weight field says 49.9 g, while the other Saxton files are about 530 g. The two Rennie files share part number TCT-183, so the code does not tell 80 teeth from 40. The Vewerk pack titles 24, 40 and 48 teeth, the teeth field prints only 48, and there is no kerf. BAUBECK's bullets run to mild steel with 35 reviews and no kerf. Evolution states a 3 mm mild-steel limit on its own system. This page does not name a winner.

Common questions

Is 210 mm the same as 216 mm?
No. Bosch Professional lists 210 mm and 216 mm PRO Wood blades as different parts. A 210 mm disc can sometimes pass a 216 mm arbor and still sit too low for the guard, the riving knife or the depth scale. Titles in this set that say a 210 mm blade fits 216 mm saws are a claim. Read the saw manual for the diameter it was guarded around, then treat 210 mm and 216 mm as separate orders.
Do I need a 16 mm ring on a 30 mm arbor?
No. A 30 mm bore on a 30 mm arbor, such as the DWE7485, does not need a reducing ring. A 16 mm, 20 mm or 25 mm ring is for a smaller arbor, and only if both flanges clamp the ring. Saxton and Rennie list those three sizes. Trend's 48-tooth file and the DeWalt XR files do not list a ring at all. 25 mm is not 25.4 mm, which is one inch.
What if the thickness field says 30 mm?
Read it as the bore copied into the wrong row. It is not a 30 mm plate and not a 30 mm kerf. The Saxton 80-tooth file, the BAUBECK file and the DeWalt 60-tooth file all print 30 mm in thickness. Use the bullet that states kerf and plate, such as 2.6 mm and 1.6 mm on the Saxton 80-tooth listing, or treat the width as unknown if no bullet gives it.
How many teeth for skirting versus ripping chipboard?
As a rule of thumb from these listings, about 80 to 100 teeth suit skirting, melamine and a visible sheet edge, and about 24 to 40 teeth suit a fast rip. Chipboard is a separate warning: UK reviews of the £9.99 Rennie 40-tooth blade include a disc that stopped after about 15 metres of 25 mm chipboard. One 100-tooth reviewer preferred about 60 teeth for MDF skirting. Match the board you are actually cutting.
Will a thin-kerf blade suit my DeWalt table saw?
On a corded DWE7485, the UK manual states a 2.4 mm kerf, a 1.6 mm body and a 2.2 mm riving knife. A 1.8 mm kerf, which is what Trend's cordless 60-tooth title states, will not clear that knife. The two DeWalt XR blades say thin kerf without a millimetre figure and collect the same binding reviews. A thin kerf belongs on a cordless saw whose manual accepts it. Do not remove the knife to force the fit.
Are multi-material bullets a steel licence?
No. A woodworking TCT blade is for wood and boards that cut in a similar way: softwood, hardwood, plywood, chipboard, MDF and some laminates. BAUBECK's bullets add aluminium and mild steel, with 35 reviews and no kerf. Evolution states a 3 mm mild-steel limit on its own R210SMS system. DeWalt's DWE7485 manual says not to fit abrasive wheels. A nail mentioned in a review is not a licence to saw fixings on purpose.
