What you are actually buying

A jigsaw moves a narrow blade so you can turn a corner a circular saw would nibble in straight passes. In this set that means a Bosch Professional GST on 12 V, 18 V or a 650 W lead. Both 12 V titles state 70 mm in wood. The GST 90 E bullets state 90 mm in wood, 20 mm in aluminium and 10 mm in unalloyed steel. The GST 18V-95 B and the GST 18V-125 listings leave the millimetres blank on amazon.co.uk. Bosch’s UK pages state 95 mm and 125 mm in wood. Treat that as Bosch’s claim. If you regularly meet 100 mm timber, the 12 V body is the wrong class before you look at stars.

Depth, platform, then the box

Match the saw to packs you already charge. A carton GST 12V-70 is a low sticker only when a 12 V pack is already on the shelf. The same saw in an L-BOXX costs more for the case and, on that listing, a stated SDS clamp. The GST 18V-95 B is the compact way onto an 18 V wall of batteries, and Amazon still does not print a wood depth. The 18 V-125 manual recommends at least a 4.0 Ah pack. The GST 90 BE and the GST 90 E are both listed at 650 W, with a lead. Blades in the boxes are a T 111 C, a T 144 D or a T 144 DP. A bow and a barrel are a different decision, on bow handle or barrel grip.

Specs that should not decide it

Amazon prints 90 watts, 125 watts, 180 watts, or 3 milliamp-hours on the carton 12 V saw. Those cells are catalogue noise, not the corded 650 W figure. The two GST 18V-125 B listings are one review pool, not evidence that the case makes the saw better. None of the first 50 GST 90 E reviews in the raw file is marked United Kingdom, and only three captured reviews of the GST 18V-125 S are. The GST 90 BE angle cell says 45 degrees. The GST 90 E angle cell says 90 degrees, which does not confirm a tilting shoe. Who each listing suits is on the best Bosch Professional jigsaw page.

Dust, noise and vibration in one pass

Reviewers of both 12 V listings say there is no blower, so the line fills. On the GST 90 BE the blower clears the cut mainly at high speed. A suction nozzle still wants a vacuum. HSE’s wood-dust guidance, for longer cutting at work, is to extract the dust and to use suitable RPE. That is an employer duty. The 18 V-125 manual, states about 87 dB(A) for the bow-handle B and 84 dB(A) for the barrel-grip S. Bosch UK publishes about 4.1 m/s² for the B and about 7 m/s² for the S, each with K of 1.5, and about 4.5 m/s² for the 12 V-70. The action value is 2.5 m/s² A(8) and the limit is 5 m/s² A(8).

Common questions

Does the cordless Bosch Professional jigsaw include a battery?
No cordless listing in this set includes a battery or a charger. The scopes list the body, a wood blade and small parts such as a splinter guard, and some add an L-BOXX. The GST 90 BE at £129.31 and the GST 90 E at £158.50 are the corded 650 W saws, so the lead is the power supply. If your shelf has no Bosch pack, add that cost before you compare a body-only price with a mains price.
What should I check before the star rating?
Check the depth in a named material, then whether you already own the battery platform, then the handle words on the title you are paying for. A high star line on a barrel-grip body still needs an 18 V pack, and a cheap 12 V carton still stops at the 70 mm the title states. Stars come after those three. A high rating on the wrong depth is a saw you will fight.
Why do the Amazon watt figures on the 18 V saws look too small?
The cordless tables print 90 watts, 125 watts or 180 watts, and one 12 V cell says 3 milliamp-hours. Bosch does not present those as the rated input of these motors. The corded saws are listed at 650 W because they are mains tools. Compare stated cutting depth, stroke and what is in the box, and leave the cordless watt cell unread.
Is a green EasySaw the same jigsaw?
The green EasySaw is Bosch’s DIY line. The saws here are blue Professional GST models. One GST 90 E reviewer preferred the blue saw to a green one they already knew. Search results also mix in GSA reciprocating saws, which use a different blade. Read the model code, GST, before you add the listing to the basket.
Is the blower enough, or do I need extraction?
The blower only keeps the line visible, and on these 12 V listings reviewers say there is no blower at all. On the GST 90 BE it works mainly at high speed. A nozzle in the box needs a vacuum hose that actually fits. For a long run of MDF indoors, plan on a vacuum. Brushing the bench afterwards is tidying, not dust control.
