Lotus grill buying guide

Updated: 16.10.2026

You are on amazon.co.uk with a LotusGrill in the basket, and the colour is doing more work than the model code. Nine listings here run from £129.00 to £250.00 on 15 October 2026, and several share one star line. This Lotus grill buying guide is the order to read before you pay: size code, included line, power figure as printed, then whether the reviews are a copy. The nine rows are on the [Lotus grill comparison](/hub/portable-grills/lotus-grill). A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Three sizes, not nine colours

The small grills are three colours of one size. G-OR-280 is tangerine, G-TB-280 deep blue and G-AN-280 anthracite, each £129.00 and 3 kg, around 490 to 503 cm². Tangerine prints 28 x 28 x 21 cm and also 21 x 25 x 21 cm. Deep blue prints 21 x 29.2 x 21 cm, plus a field that says only 29.2W cm. The deep-blue starter at £138.89 says Small and 3 kg, then 43.5 cm and 5,026.55 cm². Reject that area. Classic G-AN-34 is £151.59, 3.7 kg and 804.25 cm². XL LOG-AN-435 is £230.01 and 6.5 kg at 43.5 x 35 x 25.7 cm, with no cooking-area field. Once the fields match, headcount is on the best Lotus grill page.

Grill only or a starter set

A starter set here is fuel around the same grate. Both £172.00 listings print 804.25 cm², matching grey G-AN-34 at £151.59. The red bullet says 1 kg of charcoal and 200 ml of fluid, and the system says fan-assisted at 500 mW. The charcoal-grey bullet says 2.5 kg of beech. Its colour field says black, the title says charcoal grey, and Electric & Coal has no mains voltage, so it is not a 230 V plug. Anthracite S lists Battery only. Tangerine and deep blue list a bag and four Mignon batteries. Grey G-AN-34 lists a grate, an inner shell and a USB port, and the manufacturer field says Reimo_Consignment. A maker line about a bag does not fill a blank included line.

Power fields that do not convert

Leave every power figure as printed. Tangerine S says 5 W and does not name a fan. Deep-blue S says 0.5 kW and names one. Anthracite S says 1,500 BTU and does not. The red set says 500 mW and names a fan. The anthracite XL says 8,500 BTU, with a bellows only in the bullets. Matching 1,500 BTU to 5 W or to 0.5 kW invents a number none of these files contains. Tangerine and deep blue say Innenbereich in recommended uses, and anthracite S says Indoor, while the indoor/outdoor field says Outdoor. That line is not a clearance to cook in a kitchen. Place is the balcony page.

The shared review line

Three S colours show 4.5 from 532, and the text matches. The two £172.00 sets show 4.6 from 704 on matching text, with a centre plate that sticks. Grey G-AN-34 is its own file, 4.5 from 940. The anthracite XL is 4.3 from 1,511. The deep-blue starter is 4.6 from 38 with no United Kingdom review in the file. Rank 28 in Portable Barbecues is a sales position, not a UK test.

Common questions

Which model code is the small LotusGrill, and which is the XL?
G-OR-280, G-TB-280 and G-AN-280 are the small codes, each £129.00 and 3 kg. G-AN-34 is the Classic at £151.59, 3.7 kg and 804.25 cm². LOG-AN-435 is the XL at £230.01 and 6.5 kg. The XL starter’s number, 4250649427119, is a barcode. The deep-blue starter’s 5,026.55 cm² field fights its Small title and its 3 kg weight.
Is a starter set a bigger grill or the same grill plus charcoal?
It is the same grate class plus fuel. Both £172.00 sets print 804.25 cm², matching grey G-AN-34 at £151.59. The red bullet says 1 kg of charcoal and the charcoal-grey bullet says 2.5 kg. The XL starter stays at 6.5 kg and adds 1 kg. Grey G-AN-34 still lists neither a bag nor batteries.
Why do three colours show 4.5 from 532 reviews?
The tangerine, deep-blue and anthracite S files carry the same star line and the same review text. Four of the first 50 are marked United Kingdom. Treat that as one sample of 532, attached to three colours. The two £172.00 sets do the same with 4.6 from 704. The grey Classic, 4.5 from 940, is a separate file.
Does Electric & Coal mean a mains plug?
The charcoal-grey Classic starter’s cooking system says Electric & Coal, with three power levels and no wattage. The file has no mains voltage and no BS 1363 plug. The title mentions USB. Read it as charcoal with a fan supply to confirm in the box. The red set at the same £172.00 says fan-assisted at 500 mW, which is the clearer of the two lines.
Is a carry bag actually in the included line?
On the tangerine and deep-blue S listings, yes: a bag, four Mignon batteries and a USB cable. Anthracite S says Battery. Grey G-AN-34 says a grate, an inner shell and a USB port. The XL starter puts the bag in the title and the bullet, while the included line says battery, tongs, tray and a manual. The maker’s generic bag sentence does not replace a blank line.
Does a best-sellers rank mean a UK test win?
No. Rank 28 in Portable Barbecues, shared by the three S colours, records sales on amazon.co.uk beside 4.5 from 532. It is not a Which? result, and none of these files states BS EN 1860-1. The anthracite XL’s 4.3 from 1,511 is a larger shopper sample, and that sample includes a fan that stopped after about a year.
