Best cordless pool vacuum: a pick for each job

Updated: 21.10.2026

You want one cordless pool vacuum to name, and a reason to leave the others. Stars will not do it. The same 4.3 from 893 sits on two VIVOHOME colours, and the short PoolyPoly pair shares UK review text. This page ranks the job, then the listing, then who should skip it. The order of the decision, if you have not chosen a type, is the [pool cleaner buying guide](/hub/pool-care/pool-cleaner/sub/pool-cleaner-buying-guide). Figures are the [pool cleaner comparison](/hub/pool-care/pool-cleaner) rows. There was no lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What best means on this page

Best means the listing whose limits match your pool, with a UK review theme you can read, and a reason the next model is wrong. A higher star line does not beat a pole that cannot reach. A lower price does not beat a tool whose reviews say it stirs dirt. A wide pool and a four-seat hot tub do not share a winner. Dolphin, WYBOT and Aiper are not rows here. A bestseller rank is popularity, not a test. For most above-ground floors the first named pick is the long pole.

Long-pole cordless for an above-ground floor

For a wide fresh-water above-ground pool, take a VIVOHOME VH1715: blue at about £79.83 or yellow at about £79.99. Both list 90–278 cm, about 60 minutes, and a 300-mesh bag. The head must be immersed, and the vacuum is not for saltwater pools. Some units had no suction. The 893 reviews are shared. Blue says 2000 mAh and yellow says 20000 mAh for the same 60 minutes, so do not prefer yellow for the bigger number. If both are in stock, blue is the top pick on price. The dry top step is on the how to use a cordless pool vacuum page. Spa depth is on the cordless hot tub vacuum page.

Short stick for a hot tub

For a hot tub, the stick with its own review file is the PoolyPoly 1818 at about £59.99: 4.2 from 303 and a handle to 141 cm. Fine dirt falls back without the sleeve. In this set it is the best value cordless cleaner under £60 with a file you can read. The 1822 at about £56.99 and the 1814 at about £59.99 reach about 165 cm and state 30 cm. Their UK comments match, so count that praise once. The 1822 colour field says White and a highlight says orange. Hydro Haus at about £74.99 is 3.7 from 10. Ten reviews are why it is not the spa pick.

Robot only when the floor is flat

Buy a POOLPURE robot only for a flat floor inside 90 m², with no steps, slopes or heavy wrinkles. The RPC-100A at about £149.00 is 3.4 from 100. UK reviews split between a useful clean and a machine that is too fast, a switch that cuts out, and a wheel off after about a week. The AquaGuard SE II at about £139.00 is 3.4 from 60, and its part number is RPC100A, so the listings overlap. Neither cleans walls. IPX8 states no depth and no time. A wrinkled liner, or sand you must chase into a corner, goes back to the VIVOHOME.

The £25.99 hose set

The FAMINESS at about £25.99 is not the value pick. It is 2.4 from 40. UK comments describe a hose adapter that will not stay on, a pole that snaps, and dirt stirred rather than collected. It runs only while the hose is on, and WaterSafe says not to leave a hosepipe submerged. The 1818 is the best value cordless with a real review file. The VIVOHOME is the pole when the pool is wide.

Common questions

Which listing is the sensible pole vacuum?
A VIVOHOME VH1715 for a fresh-water pool you can cover with 90–278 cm. Blue is about £79.83 and yellow is about £79.99. The 4.3 from 893 is shared. Use the 300-mesh bag for sand, and skip both in salt water.
Which listing is the spa pick?
The PoolyPoly 1818 at about £59.99, with 4.2 from 303 on its own file and a handle to 141 cm. Fit the sleeve. The 1822 at about £56.99 is cheaper if you accept reviews shared with the 1814.
When is the robot the pick, and when is it the skip?
It is the pick on a flat floor inside 90 m² if you have read the 3.4 line. It is the skip for steps, slopes, heavy wrinkles or a hot tub. The AquaGuard is about £139.00. The RPC-100A at about £149.00 has the wheel complaints and the larger count.
Is the cheapest hose set ever the pick?
Only if you already expect a weak tool. At 2.4 from 40 it is not the best value cordless vacuum, because it is not cordless and the reviews do not describe a bag that holds debris.
Does a higher star rating beat a longer pole?
No. A 4.2 on a 165 cm stick sold as not for big pools loses to the shared 4.3 on a 278 cm pole when the floor is wide. The star line does not make the two VIVOHOME colours two winners.
What if the unit is dead on arrival?
Reject it. Section 22 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is a 30-day right to reject faulty goods. No suction after a full charge and the right bag, a dead charger, or a wheel off is a return. Yellow's 20000 mAh line is not a reason it should have lasted longer.
